I come here all the time and the 1 star is not for the food, it's for the chef. We got the scallop appetizer and it was fishy. We sent it back and we're still charged. When we asked for the scallops to be removed, the chef came out and scolded us for asking and left rolling his eyes and huffing. Absolutely terrible service and leaving date night on the verge of tears. Mimis table, do better. read more

I love the freshness of the food and the beautiful presentation. The one thing which could be improved is the air conditioning. I'm not sure if its not turned down enough or if a new air system is needed. I suspect the later. I would have enjoyed the food more had it been cooler. read more

Went to Mimi's Table with my wife for a Thursday night date and we had an exceptional evening. We had the two Italian red wines that were offered, and each selected a first course. My wife had the mushroom soup, which was the perfect temp and the flavors were fantastic. I had a fried oyster plate that was very nicely prepared, and tasted great. For the entree we split the steak, which was plenty for two people. It was perfectly cooked to medium rare and was served with asparagus and potato's au gratin. Everything with the entree was absolutely perfect. We wrapped the night with apple tart and LOVED it! There were two scoops of vanilla ice cream, mint, a kumquat and creme fresh with lemon. Amazing finish with the perfect cup of coffee. The staff is efficient, helpful and kind. Can't wait to go back! read more

My wife and I enjoyed our 35th anniversary dinner at MiMi's and it was wonderful. While not a large menu, we both found excellent choices in the salmon and trout dishes. Portions were sizable and although the service was a little slow, it was well worth the wait. The apple tart desert was excellent but the house wine by the glass was a bit expensive. We had our son's graduation at 7:00 pm that night and we asked them to not delay our meal so that we could arrive early at the venue. They totally met our expectations with that and the quality of the meal. I had the dover sole which had artichokes and I loved it! My husband enjoyed his lasagna very much. Mimi's Table is set with joy, professionalism and super yummers. The glasses are full with modern ambiance and the linens are tidy and fresh. A perfect table setting for a fun place. The renovations of this space is opened up and unlike previous reviews not really that loud. I enjoyed a reservation here on my father's birthday. The chef sent out two muesh buesh to get us started. The first was a caprese salad with a herbed oil, various cherry tomatoes and orange rind. This with a fabulous balsamic vinegar and house made mozzarella. This time of year during the spring it's a perfect light fresh flavor. The second was a lovely tangy raspberry sorbet with mint. This definitely got us excited for our entrees. I enjoyed the candied brie salad which was so different from anything I would dream up. The brie skin was carmelized and crisp with sugar and the insidel was earthy and creamy with flavor. The bitterness of the brie skin was perfectly balanced with the sweetened spin. The strawberries and pistachios complimented the dish and reinforced other flavors in the dish. All tossed in a pleasant herbed ranch dressing. I also tried the lamb which was cooked perfectly and excelled in superior technique. The calamari starter is very good. My wife enjoyed the seafood grill although they really scrimp on the crab, considering the price. My bolognese was edible, nothing memorable. Again, way overpriced. We've been to Mimi's Table numerous times. Meals have always been EXCELLENT. Seafood is super fresh and is generally my choice for dinner. The chef really pays attention to details with all of the dishes served. Salads are unique and taste great. And the desserts - wow! If you like Creme Brûlée, definitely try it here. I highly recommend this place. It's a "go to" spot for us. Depending on the day/time you go, may want to call ahead and ask about seating. Mimi's Table has become a very popular choice especially on Fri/Sat nights in Tallahassee. Seating is more limited, but that probably helps explain why the food is always so good. We were really excited to try this place, but were really disappointed. The lobster and shrimp pasta came with a few shreds of lobster, and three shrimp that had been burned on the grill. And a can of corn. Yes, they dumped half a can of corn into a lobster and shrimp pasta. The bolognese pasta was more edible, but they said there was nothing they could do about the awful entree. Good flavors and attentive service but the kitchen could work out a few kinks. After opting for a lighter meal and forgoing the Confit de Canard pasta (which I was told was handmade pasta), I went for a few classic French dishes. The red beets in the salad were very firm (hard) but the yellow beets were better. Love me some beets with the flavors but the hard veggies in the first bite took away from the experience. So I left lots of the hard ones to ripen in the vinaigrette, see ya! The fries in the Moules Frites sat in the broth instead of coming in a separate dish or basket, so even though I provided prompt attention ... there were soggy fries in the plate. Overall the food was good but didn't blow my socks off. My waitress acknowledged the comments but I didn't get much more (any) response from the chef or management on the short-comings. That was a strike. Would I go back? Possibly to give them another shot, but just a suggestion that a new establishment should be more responsive to the miss-steps. read more

Service was fine, but food was severely overpriced and did not live up to expectations by any means. While the dishes had nice presentation, it unfortunately stopped there. The chefs special of seafood fettuccine tasted like old fish, and the shrimp and lobster were the consistency of rubber. The lasagna was no different from what olive garden would have served me at a third of the price. We ordered a steak medium and it came out still mooing. We were a table of 4 and it took almost an hour and a half to receive our food after ordering, with us being only one of 2 tables currently dining at the restaurant. The final straw was when my table was served tiramisu that was still frozen when you stuck your fork in, and crunchy from ice, indicating they had been waiting for it to thaw out this whole time while we waited ages to get it. I'm very disappointed as it came highly recommended to us, but it did not live up to any 5 star reviews I have seen. Overall it was a horribly expensive dinner without any redeeming qualities to have made it worth our time and money, and I will not be returning. read more

Amazing! I took my girlfriend here for dinner and some drinks and we were not disappointed at all. The service is great and the food is exquisite. She had a duck trio with a breast, leg and thigh and foie gras while I had a combination of mussels, shrimp, fish and scallops. Her duck was perfect and the portions generous. My seafood was extremely tender and not overcooked at all. For dessert we split the apple tart and it was without equal. I was really excited to try this place, but was greatly disappointed by my visit. We ordered curbside pickup and our food was given to another car. I understand and account for human error, so that didn't bother me initially, but once the other customer returned with our food, I realized more issues that needed to be addressed. Although the food was packaged beautifully, it was cold, and I later found a hair in my food. The dishes themselves were underwhelming and definitely not worth nearly $80. For the price, I expected much more. I believe that we probably caught them on a bad night, yet I thought it worth mentioning that we had a below-satisfactory experience. This is our fourth dinner experience at Mimi's. Our waitress is attentive, the calamari and cheese board are always good. My white wine spritzer was watered down and tasteless. Others had the sangria and liked it. The biggest complaint is the restaurant needs a better air conditioning system. Much too warm, which effects the attitude of the dining experience. Lastly, the Apple tart and ice cream is my favorite dessert in all of Tallahasse! Save room for it. read more

This place was awesome. They have outdoor seating, very good surf and turf, staff practicing distancing and wearing masks, and offering out door seating/spaced out from other tables. The food can be pricey, but well worth it. Specifically, the lobster tails were much better than elsewhere. And to boot, its not like Tallanasty has a lot of other classy options. This is definitely a place to go for an anniversary dinner or a nicer night out. Additionally, responsive/quick service, but not intrusive, constantly interrupting you and your guests, etc. We'll be back! read more

We had a wonderful dinner here for our anniversary. I had a delightful farm salad and my husband was thrilled to have whole white anchovies in his Caesar. We shared some tasty herbed olive oil and bread and for the main course we had the roasted chicken and the lamb rack with lamb ravioli. A split of Prosecco and a deeply satisfying bottle of chateau neuf du pape set off the food nicely. All very good. I had key lime pie for dessert which was sharp and just the right size. My British husband asked for a cheese plate for dessert and they did their best to comply even though it wasn't on the menu. Two minor suggestions: there was way too much olive oil for dipping and we hated to see it go to waste when we couldn't finish it. And the bread offered was a little flabby. It should be a hearty crusty French baguette or loaf to have for the oil and cheese tray. Otherwise we really enjoyed ourselves and the service was spot on. read more

My girlfriend and I stopped by for a casual date night to celebrate another year of life. She had the Atlantic Salmon, which was a little dry, however the rest of the dish (an assortment of vegetables including potatoes and herbs) was good enough to swing it. I had the rack of lamb, which was exquisite and cooked to medium. Was impressed the first time we ordered takeout here. Raved about it on social media, referred friends. Sadly, it turns out this good experience was a fluke. Returned twice and, while the food was good, I waited no short of 30 minutes in the parking lot for my prepaid/pre-tipped, curbside food. This time, we ordered online again with a pickup time 30 min later. Someone from the restaurant called to see if they could move the pickup time to 1 hour later. Sure, ok. I thought at least they are giving me notice and not making me spend 30 min in the parking lot. So I arrive at their specified time. Ten minutes later, an employee comes out with bags of food only to tell me that there was a mix-up earlier because someone had my same name... didn't really elaborate but said he was headed back in to get my food... just give him 5-10 minutes. Twenty minutes went by and no sign of the guy, so I decide to head inside where I'm told my order is still not ready, but if I head to my car they will bring it out. Not falling for that one again, I waited at the desk and my more than $100 order was finally handed over about 10 minutes later. No compensation, no further explanation, just a halfhearted "sorry". No, sorry would be reimbursing my desserts or, hey we threw in an appetizer for your inconvenience. I arrived home to discover my "medium" steak resembled a lump of overcooked leather. No problem getting a reservation on a Saturday night. We were sat immediately by a very nice hostess and our drink orders were taken quickly. Nice atmosphere...classy but casual. I like the natural light provided by the picture window that covers the entire width of the restaurant. I went with a draft beer which was very reasonably priced. Minor issue with the temperature of the beer...a bit on the warm side by a few degrees but still drinkable. My wife and I shared the infused olive oil served with house bread. Both were good but they only gave us a few small pieces of bread each and when I requested more, it took way too long to get it. I ordered the house salad and my wife chose the soup for appetizers. This is the one of the only problems we had with our dinner. It took at least twenty minutes to get these after the bread came to the table. The dining room wasn't too full so I'm not sure if this was an issue with the kitchen or our server. When the salad and soup did arrive, my salad looked a bit wilted and the dressing appeared to be sitting on the plate for too long and was slightly congealed. On a more positive note, both of our entrees were outstanding! My wife had the braised short rib over polenta and I had the pork chop over mashed potatoes and collards. The chop was brined, smoked and grilled perfectly...super tender, 5 stars for sure. The potatoes and collards were also very well done. I tried my wife's short rib and was also impressed. Both portions were more than generous. While our server was very polite and professional, there was one more thing that bothered me a bit. When I asked for the check, she asked me how we wanted it (not for nothing, but how often does a party of two wearing wedding rings spit a check?) Maybe she is used to asking that for larger parties and it was just a slip of the tongue, who knows. I also wasn't a big fan of completing my payment on an IPad...a bit tacky for a fine dining establishment. Overall, I would still recommend this restaurant for a very nice dinner with fair prices and a diverse menu. read more

We enjoyed a lovely dinner which started with a nice amuse bouche. We had Caesar salad, fried oysters and calamari as appetizers. All well prepared. We tried the trout, duck, salmon and ny strip and all were very good. Our only disappointment was with the wine. We sprung for a $95 bottle of burgundy as our first bottle. Very light and disappointing. The $25 Cote du Rhône was a much better buy. Desserts and service were both excellent. read more

My boyfriend and I went to Mimi's Table last night for date night and I can't stop talking about it. The service was fantastic. We were never looking for our waitress she was always on top of it and was nice and talked to us about the different tastings on the menu. I ordered the coconut curried mussels as my first course and they were delicious. The sauce had a nice kick to it that just sent them over the top and if I'm honest I could have had just that and be incredibly happy but my second course was great too! I got the pan seared salmon and it was cooked perfectly with the couscous and the roasted cauliflower. I cleared both of my plates which is rare for me but the food was so good I couldn't help it. My boyfriend got the Caesar salad and Beef Stroganoff and he cleared his plate too saying it was just way too good to leave any. We did have dessert while we were there and I'm very happy we did I got the sorbet and thought it was the perfect way to end the meal and my boyfriend got the chocolate crack pie and really enjoyed it. Overall incredible experience, I will say it got a little loud and they don't have a liquor license but their wine list makes up for not having a liquor license. read more

We had an amazing dinner. Started with the house sangria to cool off. Then moved to the charcuterie plate which was full of delicious little things to snack on. The table also shared frito misto which was light and crispy despite being fried. The chef also sent out a couple of treats which was equally delicious, especially the meatball served over polenta. For entrees, we had the short ribs and risotto. The portions were HUGE and extremely flavorful. The table shared the brownie and key lime pie for dessert. The brownie was warm and very chocolatey. The key lime pie was one of the best I've ever had with a salty crust and velvety filling. Thad was a great waiter. Extremely attentive. Wow!!! So thoroughly impressed with this restaurant. Being back for the third time, it just gets better each visit. I absolutely LOVE the consistent menu changes, and every dish I've had has been made with such detail and bold flavors that can't compare to many and most in the Tallahassee area. My only wish is if the restaurant itself was a tad bigger so I could bring in bigger parties to share the experience with. The intimacy doesn't go unnoticed, and Chef William is always around to make sure your experience is up to par.
