The food was so good that I would gladly make the drive from San Francisco to Petaluma just to eat here again. The barbecue was outstanding, but the real surprise was the peach tres leches cake. WOW. It was incredible and an absolute game changer. Moist, flavorful, and the perfect ending to an amazing meal. The portions were generous, the quality was excellent, and every bite was worth it. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. If you're anywhere near Petaluma and love great barbecue, do yourself a favor and stop here. It was a Sunday afternoon around lunch time, and it was busy! Every table outside and on the porch was occupied. We went inside to order, and were greeted with a very upscale experience. Lovely market, beautiful looking food, nice decor. Overall, it made a positive impression. We waited in quite a long line to order, but it went fast, and the staff was doing a great job processing all of the food orders coming in. We decided to order a tri-tip sandwich in sauce and a pulled pork sandwich. Plus a large order of baked beans. When we got outside, there was a table available. voila! Just what we needed. As for the food, I was expecting epic BBQ from this place given how consistently busy it is every time I'm near. Maybe my expectations were just too high. Our sandwiches were large. In fact they were large enough to split. But, they were just sort of disappointing. They didn't have a ton of flavor and the sauce was a little bit ketchupy. I would also be shocked if I ever learned that those baked beans did not come right from a can. (My bad for ordering beans without seeing them first or asking if they were housemade.) I do wish I had remembered to photograph the food, but alas, I did not. Overall, if someone else wanted to go eat at Lombardi's while I was in Petaluma, I would go with them. But, I won't hurry back or rave about it to anyone who asks.

The bar and the dining room area appeared very modern and clean. Started our meal with the Gochujang glazed cauliflower wings and they were phenomenal! Beneath the deliciously flavored glaze was a crunchy fried cauliflower that maintained its veggie tenderness! The allium dip was a bonus because it elevated the flavor to another dimension. This was definitely one of our favorite items of the night! The Parker rolls were served with a homemade butter and they were light and airy which made them pair nicely with the fresh golden beet salad. They served a very generous portion of lettuce and added all kinds of goodies in it- the burrata, pumpkin seeds , homemade french bread croutons , tomatoe and beets lightly coated with the balsamic dressing - yum! Moving onto the main entrees: the Lamb Rigatoni was served with al dente pasta in a light lemony cream sauce that combined shredded lamb shank with green peas. Was quite tasty and it was a nice change of pace from eating pasta with beef bolognese . The other entree was the Beef Wellington and it was rich ; the filet was cooked perfectly! We enjoyed every bite of this superb dish. Our meal ended with the chocolate mousse and the panna cotta which were equally delicious! Scooping both halves was the best of both worlds. The dip was smooth and great flavors, I would get this again. Then when the entrees came out, and we started eating, half way throught both items were quite heavy and we started to feeling full. The beef Wellington was cooked to a medium consistency, the crust as still firm and mushroom filing great. The oxtail was so tender, it falls off the bone. A different flavoring but fantastic. We ended up taking the oxtail home as it would be diffcult to reheat beef Wellington. No room for dessert. It felt like mostly repeat locals dining here as they chatted with the wait staff a lot, but feel this deserve the hour drive to get here. Parking is avalaible street parking but there is a multi level parking garage near by. After a hike today at Lake Lagunitas we stopped by for cheese. They are eager to allow you to try many of their cheeses. I ended up getting the Golden Gate, which was offering a special today- buy one get one free. Being it was Memorial weekend the picnic tables around the pond were full and it was fun watching the families and kids enjoying themselves
