It seems that Mimosa and the other sit-down restaurant, Shoyu, across Concourse G, share the same breakfast menu. A quick glance at the menu (offerings included French toast, eggs with thick-cut bacon and wheat toast, croissant breakfast sandwiches, roasted polenta with eggs, sunny-side up eggs on top of farro and more) convinced me that it was a good place to grab something to eat before it was time to head home to Atlanta. I was intrigued by the iPads (not only are they at every seat in the actual restaurant, but also at all seats in the airport, which makes me think that you could order food from anywhere in the concourse.) After fumbling with the iPad a bit (husband put in his order first, then handed it to me to put in my order so we'd be on the same tab, but then I accidentally deleted his order). I ordered a coffee with half & half and a shot of hazelnut, and bacon, poached eggs and wheat toast. My husband got a sausage and egg croissant sandwich. After getting our coffee and water pretty quickly, we sipped on that as we waited for our breakfast to arrive. And waited... and waited... I wasn't watching the clock closely, but I'd say close to half an hour later, my husband's sandwich arrived and then another 5-10 minutes for my eggs and bacon to arrive. WTF? These items should not take long at all to cook. My guess is my husband's order was sitting around for a little bit, because he commented that his sandwich was cold. My food was actually hot, but they made one massive gaffe -- my poached eggs were more like hard boiled eggs. At this point, our flight was coming up and I didn't even bother sending the eggs back knowing how long they took to arrive initially. I enjoyed the bacon and toast. The fried potatoes were nothing to write home about. Interestingly, they provided a real fork and spoon, but a plastic butter knife. Go figure. Also questionable is the fact that the iPad automatically defaults to 18% tip when prepaying for your food. Not only did this service definitely not merit 18%, but it made no sense to tip beforehand -- what's to prevent a server from doing the bare minimum? I hope the next time I'm on a layover at MSP that I'm flying out of Concourse G so I can come back for a meal. I ordered the Garlic Burger and a slice of 'za and fries to share with my people. Everything was delicious- really unexpected quality of food and ingredients for an airport at the low prices on their menu. Better than a lot of burgers I've paid twice as much for. Ordering via iPad made things easy, and the food came out within 7 or 8 minutes. There are TONS of tables, booths and a bar so you'll find a spot to dine or drink w/o delay. We stopped at Mimosa after our early flight landed for a quick breakfast. The place is cute at first glance but the longer you hang the faster the appeal diminishes. You order on an iPad that is smack in the middle of your table, which is quick and easy and also in the way of conversing with your date. But don't think your 'server' is going to stop and chat, because they won't. If you're traveling alone it would be great to be left alone. Our server walked around talking loudly about how all the tables and chairs are falling apart...#awkward... NONE of the photos on the menu are actually how they are served. Which is disappointing and had I known that my order would have changed dramatically. The cappuccino's purpose here is to just give you a caffeine boost. I wouldn't plan on actually enjoying it. The quiche? Horrible. When the plate was dropped down in front of me I had the feeling of ordering that cute little top online and when it comes in the mail you think, "WTF..is this even what I ordered?" I read someone else's review saying that they use quality seasonal ingredients. I don't know what they ordered, but it wasn't the quiche. The crust tasted like cardboard and the custard was 'warm' near the crust and fresh out of the freezer cold in the middle. Maybe I'll just get drunk here next time instead. read more

I found myself in the G terminal at MSP often. Mimosa was a great go-to place for a drink or a meal. I LOVE the iPad order process. That alone adds a star. The food I've had has been okay. The drink, on the other hand, have been good. And they should be for the price! Providing a tip before service is a little tricky... well, maybe not tricky, but odd. I mean... how can I tip on service that hasn't yet occurred? So I figure the better the tip 'before' service... the better the service. Well maybe. I don't know... I've not had bad service or any bad food at Mimosa. It's so nice to hook up all my devices and recharge while relaxing between flights. And then having complete control over what I want to order, be it food or drink. All these iPad friendly places are great. Mimosa is just one of them. If anything, it has gotten worse! The seats and bar areas were NOT clean at all! I am not too picky, but this was disgusting! We never received our drinks but multiple text messages offering another round??? Seriously? When we asked a friendly-looking, young employee she would not understand what we were saying. Say down to have a drink and dessert before my flight out last week. Had a Baileys and coffee and tried out their special bananas foster cheesecake. All restaurants in the airport have the iPad ordering system in and outside of the restaurant area. Everything comes out quickly after you order. Love this type of ordering since you do it on you own time. The cheesecake is amazing! I would come back to try out the food, it's a French inspired menu with oysters! love it. Carl helped us choose beer and he even gave us testers first and also helped us with our order. The woman bringing us the drinks was very rude like she had a bad day, she asked for our IDs again for her to give us drinks and I quote "I'm not giving you this drink until I see ID" which I understand but she could have been professional and more kind and had better tone of voice. She afterwards threw the IDs at us and walked away with our drinks and we got the manager and told him the situation and he brought us our drinks. Stopped for a quick bite at Mimosa before my flight out of Minneapolis on Sunday. I was informed by the staff that since my food wasn't ready prior to my flight boarding that I would only be charged for the beer that I ordered (while waiting for my meal)..and that the remaining food cost would be taken off my bill (which the manager had approved). Since they were backed up in the kitchen and at the counter coupled by the fact that you pay using a machine at your table..I never received a bill. Only the promise that I would not be charged. It turns out my card was charged for the whole meal, not just the beer. Has this happened to anyone else? Its definitely seems a little bit shady. There were two other people at the counter dealing with what seemed to be the same issue. Any suggestions regarding how to resolve this? read more

I was thankful this place was open later than the StoneArch for a late meal, (StoneArch quit serving food at 9pm) however then I ate the food....I should have stuck with the drinks, but if you enjoy drinks, be sure to order the French Dip....this sandwich is so dry I was ready to do the Oreo dunk into the Au Jus, only to find this liquid is a mix of coffee, tar, gravy and SALT...which is why you should order this sandwich if you like to drink....you will SLAM whatever you are drinking to wash the sandwich and salt down your throat. And maybe even dunk the sandwich into it...The only reason for 2 stars vs 1 is they had a heartbeat...sorry were open. No heartbeats here...just Ipads that work half speed and slower than my phone...they should offer delivery if I am going to sit in their restaurant and order out...OK I get the fact I am in the airport and may need to run for a flight, but this is worse than the Golden Arches and at least there I can get food that has liquid left in it....this is airport food at its worst. Thank goodness the Miller Lite on draft is tasty....my guess is because other patrons are washing the taste out of their mouths. Great food and espresso but it's expensive and I got very poor service, well more specifically a very poor bartender. He forgot my drinks and then made up some bad excuse later that he meant to be late on my espresso because people prefer dessert espresso. Huh? Really? Should it really take over twenty minutes to get a draft beer? Whomever came up with the idiotic use of QR codes instead of actually having a human take an order and collect a payment is, for lack of a better term, a moron. Yes, I am sure it saves money, and in a theoretical sense it seems a logical step, however in reality all it does is provide an impersonal, filthy, and unpleasant experience (forgot to add aggravating). The tables were dirty and sticky. We did not see anyone wiping anything down. I received a text message asking if we would like another round. I responded I had to get the first round before I worried about a second. How pathetic is it that my wife's cousin sends us a text and picture showing him and his fiancé having a glass of champagne at the top of the Eifel tower in Paris and the glass was the same price as a draft beer in MSP? I had to ask for someone to get us our drinks so that suggests the automated system sucks. You charge ridiculous prices for a marginal product, provided in a substandard environment. I've had better service and food in a KBR mess hall. Will avoid MSP like the plague now, and when we cannot, I will not spend one damn dime in any place that treats me, and my patronage with such absolute disrespect. One star is too many. read more

I am by no means old, but the technology in this place ruins the potentially hip atmosphere. I ordered through the iPad and it locked up, had to flag a bartender down for assistance and she stated they had been having problems. I sat at the bar for almost two hours and every single person that sat down by me complained about the way you have to order and lack of conversation with the staff. Call me old school, but I DO NOT like this setup. Not to mention it took over 20 minutes to get me a receipt since the iPad I ordered from was apparently broken. Wow. I was really impressed by this place. Surprised to find a place like this is Minneapolis, in the middle of an airport! So modern, so clean, so futuristic. Unexpected. We had an hour or so to get food before our next flight and we stumbled on to this place. It has an iPad at every seat and you do all your ordering and paying by the iPad. So cool. You can even check the status of your flight on the iPad. We ordered: LOBSTER FETTUCINE--My daughter's order. She loved it. I liked it. Lacked depth of flavor and needed to be creamier. But decent. BEET SALAD--I loved this salad. Perfectly thought through. Not your average sliced beets, they were farm fresh beets cut to show natural shapes, with goat cheese, walnuts and a delicate citrus vinaigrette. Ate every bit and enjoyed the lightness of it. "SPECIAL COCKTAIL"--I'd like to nominate this cocktail as one of the worst cocktails I've ever had in my life. Horrible. I still drank it because i didn't want to waste it, but it was completely uneventful. Nothing to speak of. No fizz, no punch, no flavor. Looked like dingy dishwater, and I hoped and prayed that it wouldn't taste like it looked. But it did. Some bartender needs to go back to Mixology school. Apart from the lousy cocktail, I loved this restaurant. Kudos to the creator of such an innovative, futuristic eatery. I wish I was flying through Minneapolis more often. Great beer selection! Worthless staff! It's highly frowned upon if you don't order with the iPads. I ordered a beer and a salad and half hr later asked for my beer and then ten more minutes my salad. Both mentally slow waiters? looked blindly at me and had no clue I was waiting even though I was two feet from them at the bar. I used to work in the industry and this place is super nice but needs a ton of training. Great potential, but I'd give it a few more months at least. I'll add the only guy who seemed to have a clue was the Irish looking guy with the grey beard.. The rest of the staff maybe shouldn't even have jobs. This review is great! Thanks to Delta, I got to spend the night at MSP. After wandering around trying to decide where to drink/eat, I discovered Mimosa. I was intrigued by all of the iPads and sleek looking atmosphere and decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did! Every bar seat/table comes with an iPad, which is what you use to place your order. I really liked this because it let you take your time with ordering (or speed it up instead of waiting for someone to come around). However, I would be careful when ordering drinks. I didn't notice until I looked at my receipt the next day, but I had ordered the extra large glass of wine instead of the regular, which unfortunately came along with an extra large price tag. And would also explain why I felt so buzzed after one glass of wine. Food wise, I ordered the grilled cheese. It had pesto and apples, so it wasn't really a standard grilled cheese, but it was darn good. The fries that came on the side were kind of boring though. Once you're done ordering, you can play around on the iPad, which only reinforced the fact that I want an iPad. For the price/quality of the food/drink, I would probably give Mimosa 4 stars, but the staff were amazing! I never had to wait long for my drink to be filled, and the bartender was super friendly. She even stayed open a little later because she knew myself and one other diner were staying the night in the airport. As someone who used to work at an airport restaurant, I can tell you that you cannot get out of there soon enough, so I really appreciated her gesture. EEEEKK!!! $13 for a mimosa?!?! Ok, it is at an airport and the ambiance is kick ass. Super upscale modern club feel mixed with french bistro in the middle of an airport is pretty cool. My mimosa was delicious and at least had a splash of grand marnier to kick it up a notch in strength, which is much appreciated for that steep price tag. To order here, it's a touch screen system, that sits at each table. The drinks and food are chosen and then paid for with a credit card all in one simple transaction without having to wait for a waiter/waitress to come take the order. My drink arrived pretty quick as well as a cranberry scone. My complaint about the scone was that it was cold and arrived with no butter. A light toasting of the scone and some butter would have made my expensive experience much more worth the hefty price tag. read more

The server/bartender poured me a sweet spiced rum, rather than the name brand that I ordered and he literally could not tell the difference between limes and lemons, telling me the green ones needed to ripen... When I asked for what I ordered (nicely) he got upset and said I could not fly because he was calling the airport police. He said "I am worried your health and the airport has very strict rules that I am following". When I appealed to a different bartender, the first guy actually resorted to calling me a racist. Whoa! Ate here while waiting for an 11am flight. The food is better than anything else you will find at most airports. Ordering on iPad is innovative. I agree with another reviewer that you pre-tip so you can't base tip on service. I guess you could tip in cash though. I ordered the croque madame which bares the same description as the croque Monsieur. It should specify the difference of the fried egg addition for those who don't know. Also the description doesn't indicate it comes with frites so I ordered a side. The server quickly realized I didn't want all those potatoes myself and refunded the $5 potatoes without question. Don't eat here! The waiters are rude and won't serve you. The iPad concept is unique but useless if you don't get your food. I waited over 40 mins for my food and I never received it. When I went up to the waitress and told them I would like my food to go they ignored me and told me to sit down. Either all these iPad airport places are the same or we ate here before when Mimosa had a different name. As I've expressed in other reviews, I much prefer a traditional server scenario and not this nonsense where you order on an iPad and get pretty much no service. One "waitress" was super nice but the other was annoyed when we, gasp, asked her to wipe down the table that had pieces of egg on it. My boyfriend had to grab silverware and a napkin from another table since they didn't notice he didn't have any, and I also grabbed different silverware since mine was just sitting on the dirty table. The food took way too long for how busy they were not, but my boyfriend said his Crab Benedict was super good. The Bloody Marys were OK, but there was a hair in my boyfriend's drink. If you want a grapefruit for breakfast it is $7. This is the first review I've ever written while in the establishment I am reviewing. read more

I came through here in Jan 2018 and loved the experience. I was by myself, ordered via the ipad and the food was great. I do feel that tips are not earned as much since I did have to seat myself, figure it out on my own, and the server only brought my food rather than giving me opinions on what is good as well as recommendations. I felt as if the server was just more of a busser in this instance. I adjusted the tip downward for this reason. However as I said, the food was excellent!! I also ordered Chamomile Tea with honey. It was brought out in a french press and there was a generous amount of honey. The tea was AMAZING. The Honey was so smooth. Where can I buy this tea??? The ambiance of the restaurant is cool, and the iPads are an efficient way to order. However, this does not make up for the lack (or commitment of) service. We arrived at the airport about two hours before our flight, and thought we would enjoy a nice breakfast as opposed to a quick bite to eat. We placed our orders, finding very delectable and appealing entrees. I was a little taken aback by the $50 bill for two adults and one four year old for breakfast (no alcohol!) but it's an airport. My disappointment stems from the fact that it took a half hour for the first two dishes for breakfast to be delivered. We were assured that my wife's meal would arrive shortly thereafter. Another waitress appeared to deliver my wife's meal to another table, and our waitress was nowhere to be seen. When our waitress came by ten minutes later, she first claimed that my wife had already eaten it (which she had not), and then claimed we had not ordered it (which it was clearly on my e-mail receipt). The manager was able to refund the money for my wife's entree (unfortunately not for the prepaid tip), but this hour long experience for breakfast and my wife ending up on the plane hungry was unexceptable. Don't waste your time and definitely don't waste your money--there are better options other than OTC dining at MSP. read more

I ordered the traditional French steak frites and it was very very disappointing. I ordered the steak "rare" it arrived medium. The meat was not seasoned and flavorless for "dry-age" strip loin.
