We tried minano ramen, black tonkatsu ramen and chicken karage. I personally like the black tonkatsu ramen, the broth taste more rich garlic flavor. I added chili oil to make it spicy, reallu good. Update: I honestly feel bad updating this review because I love supporting local businesses, especially one right down the street from my home. We frequent this restaurant often, I've noticed a high turnover in servers and initially assumed the slow service was due to that. However, during a non-busy lunchtime , with only about five other tables, it took 30 minutes to receive a hibachi chicken plate and a kids' meal. My daughter was not very happy needless to say . That wait time felt excessive and made me question what's happening in the kitchen. I understand it's the holiday season and that waiting is sometimes expected, but a long delay for a 15 table restaurant is disappointing. The server mentioned that 30 minutes is normal for a hibachi chicken plate, which seems a bit long to me. I usually gravitate toward Asian restaurants because service tends to be quicker, so this experience was surprising. For now, I may stick to my usual Vietnamese and Korean go-to spots, but I truly hope this improves because I want to continue supporting this local business. Additionally, the fried banana side that comes with the kids' meal has been consistently inedible. Ten times out of ten, it's extremely greasy, more like biting into a hot grease ball than bananas. Came on Friday around noon and we were the only people inside. Takoyaki: 4/5 Thank goodness for a good Takoyaki place. Delicious and fresh. Only reason for the 4 was that they're a little small, but overall great. Shouyu ramen: 3.5/5 The broth itself wasn't extremely flavorful, but with some chili fakes the flavor skyrocketed. The chashu was yummy, but a little tough and the noodles weren't entirely my favorite. With that being said, the whole bowl was tied together perfectly. The nori and fish cakes complimented all the flavors and it was a delicious bowl of ramen! Minano Ramen: 4.5/5 Chashu was a bit tough, but the flavor and overall bowl of ramen was amazing. Was looking for a spot to grab dinner solo on a cold night and passed Minano Ramen. It had a charming look and I wanted to check it out! It turns out I made a great decision. I immediately loved the decor inside, it was an explosion of lanterns, colors, and tapestries. It was pretty busy inside but not too loud. My server, Dustin, came over soon and I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen. Legitimately in less than 5 minutes he came back with my bowl! I was amazed at the speed of service. Dustin also helped me decide which boba to get and I went with the Minano tea (just a classic milk tea with boba). The ramen was just classic and the tea was great as well. It's all in the details at Minano. We decided to try this restaurant on a Friday night with our kids, and it felt more like an experience than a meal. The vibe of this restaurant is everything. There are cherry blossoms and lanterns hanging from the ceiling and giant Japanese waving lucky cat in the entry way. The service was exceptional. We wanted for nothing. Refills were brought timely, and our waiter was patient and pleasant and overall amazing. For food-The kids meals were massive, and came with fries, a large portion of rice, apple juice, fried bananas, and a sucker. We had the shumai and spring roll appetizers and both were delicious. The chicken curry bao was a little dry but otherwise very good. The fried ice cream was delicious. My only complaint would be the broth for the Minano Ramen was less flavorful than I've had,, and for a ramen restaurant, we had higher expectations. I also was underwhelmed by the lack of flavor of the dressing for the avocado salad. Overall this restaurant with their service and ambience ultimately delivered a 5 star experience. I got mushrooms, peppers, takoyaki, and seaweed salad. The only thing we liked was the Takoyaki. The mushrooms and peppers didn't have much flavor and the seaweed salad was mostly lettuce. It was served on a salad, basically. Usually served on cucumbers in most places. We all ordered Tonkatsu Ramen. Two of us ordered Black. I loved it. It was absolutely delicious. I got the Black, and it was very flavorful with tons of different flavors in the bowl. The noodles were done perfectly, the garlic was just the right amount of spice, the veggies were just the right amount of crunch, pork was so tender and great, the egg was done exactly how it should be. Second time here and it was a great experience again. Our server was sweet and answered our questions with such kindness and knowledge. We tried the Grilled Squid which had a nice smokiness and good texture. They also have a new item menu, chicken katsu, that they're trying out and it was delicious. We got it as a Chicken Katsu Don (with rice) and as a ramen, and the portions were large and flavorful. Both orders came with 2 chicken filets. The chicken was juicy and crispy - which other restaurants have difficulty with, especially if the chicken is thin - but Minano Ramen did it really well. We were here for the appetizer lite bite and the early bird specials. We start with mince pork bun. Bun skin is thick and mince pork infill is good. But we feel this item can be easily obtained from the oriental grocery store. The next dish is gyoza. It comes with 6 pieces. The next dish is grilled Yakitori shrimp and Gizzard. This place is a true hidden gem located right outside of westchase. It was well decorated and among entry I thought I had entered a little Japanese market/street. Very well themed. Ordered the ramen and it was absolutely delightful. It was packed with flavor and very light for what ramen is. Also had the bao buns and just writing about it makes me crave them again. Definitely a solid place to get ramen in the area. I was so excited for this place to open. I'm a huge ramen fan and this place is close by. Ever since we moved to Westchase I mainly stay within a 10 minute radius. This was 11 minutes, so close enough. I came with two friends for dinner during their soft opening. I was impressed how smoothly everything ran during it. We were seated immediately, when we left around 8:30 p.m. there were some people waiting. Tons of parking and tons of seating, so I bet waiting is going to be minimal here. Our server was very attentive and the food came quickly. We started with shrimp and vegetable tempura and a chicken curry bao. I really like the shrimp and vegetable tempura, it was perfectly lightly fried and had a great crunch. The chicken bao wasn't a favorite of mine. Usually I find the bao bread to be slightly sweet, but this one was tasteless. I would skip the bao next time. Then for my main I got the seafood ramen with vegetable ramen broth. I don't eat pork and the seafood ramen has a pork broth normally. I felt fortunate that they had a non-pork broth. The broth was absolutely delicious. I find the broth is where a lot of places go wrong, but this one I drank in it's entirety. I liked the noodles, there was a lot of noodles in the bowl. I actually didn't end up eating them all. There was a good amount of seafood as well. Overall I had a good experience here and I'll definitely come back. I want to try their boba next. My server, Lam, was very enthusiastic and happy to help in any way he could. He did a good job listing off the specials (came during lunch which includes some rice bowl and ramen deals) and staying attentive while also working during a photoshoot/interview he was helping with for the soft opening Since it was a bit hot outside for ramen, I went with the pork belly don, and as a lunch special it came with three sides as well. From the outside it was rather unassuming, but the inside was much bigger than I expected and pretty well decorated. The waitress was super friendly and really good about clearing out plates and keeping out drinks filled. Service itself was also pretty quick, with dishes coming out at a reasonable time. I tried both some Yakitori skewers and the ramen. The skewers were solid. Good to get a couple to share with people since each skewer comes with 4 or 5 pieces of meat or vegetable.
