I really enjoyed Sunrise Restaurant. The food was very fresh and light. The restaurant was pretty quiet when I went but it was nice. The staff was very helpful with giving advice on which food to select and the food came out pretty quickly.

    Large Combo

One of the first places that shows up in Newport when you're looking for Phō so we stopped in for dinner on a chilly night. It was quiet inside and not very busy. The waiter took our order quickly and answered any questions well. The food came out right after we finished our appetizers and it was delicious. I had the large combo and I wasn't able to finish it all. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking to warm the bones up with something tasty.

    Rare beef pho

Was so excited to finally find a pho place in Newport... This is what they consider a medium and double meat, which I paid $26 for... very good but ridiculously expensive.

My go-to pho spot. The large is two meals worth for me. The vibes are jeans and a t shirt to dine-in or grab take out. The boba smoothie can take a bit if it's busy but worth the wait for the creamy goodness.

    Spicy tofu vegetable stir fry

We had a delicious dinner here! I had the tofu vegetable with beef broth pho and my bf got what he says was the round steak pho. We also got spicy tofu vegetable stir fry which was a surprise stand out. I think that's the best tofu stir fry I've ever had! The tofu was perfectly crisp, there were an assortment of vegetables (cauliflower, broccoli, string beans, carrots), and the sauce was so flavorful, in that sweet spicy way that keeps you coming back for more. We were warned that the Thai coffee was very strong, so my bf didn't get that, although he was tempted to. I noticed that they had a good selection of boba tea flavors- including red bean, taro, and avocado- which sounded good as well. We'll have to try some drinks next time.

Stopped by right when they opened 11 AM weekday. Service was warm and friendly. Ordered a large combination beef pho: came in a huge bowl with variety of brisket/flank/tendon/tripe etc., hit the spot, and tasted homemade Comes with: bean sprouts, thai basil, lime, hoisin sauce, chili sauce no onion/jalapeno/chili oil, thai chili's on request $16 for an authentic bowl of pho, would come again to try other dishes

Small restaurant and clean. Seated immediately. Good place to go for a consistently good bowl of PHO.

For drinks I got a refresher ~ refresher wasn't too outstanding but it helped with my spicy ramen~ my ramen so was savory and flavorful~ tasty, wasn't fatty or too oily. It had just good flavors that weren't too heavy but definitely filling and satisfying. My partners ramen was also very flavorful and tasty without the typical fatty, oily, tastes I usually get. We asked the server for the check since we need to leave soon after to make it on time for an event, and she gave us the check, and some to-go containers in case we needed it, which was very considerate! The appetizer were solid, good, but you MUST try the ramen. Spicy ramen was worth it if you need a good hangover soup or super chilly, or just want to sweat~ the egg and corn pieces were such soothing ingredients ~ Will be back for sure, even if the drive and parking is a hassle. Street parking is the way to go, and be ready for a walk~

The place is a little dark but service was friendly. Nice menu with variety. We primarily came for the pho. They have several options as well as regular, large, and some XL options. Broth was mediocre at best. We ordered the dac biet and it came with a good amount of meat and tendon. But I wish the broth was heartier. We also ordered the steamed noodle vermicelli that comes with rice paper to wrap. That was good! It's like make your own spring rolls- rice paper, meat and vegetables to wrap up, and a nice dipping sauce.

I ordered takeout, and the food was ready within 20 minutes. The woman who handed me the food was really nice and welcoming. Great service all around. Here's what we ordered: crab rangoons, vegetable summer rolls, chicken satay, beef drunken noodles, duck pad Thai, duck lion city noodles, and a Thai tea. The crab rangoons were definitely the highlight of the meal. These were genuinely great -- crispy, creamy, flavorful, and just really satisfying. My family loved them, and I would go back just for these alone. I'm guessing they're even better fresh out of the kitchen. The vegetable summer rolls were okay. Fresh and decent, but I wish they came with more dipping sauce -- we barely had enough for three people. Would've liked some protein in them too, but they were still a solid starter. The chicken satay just wasn't it for me. It was on the dry side and didn't have much flavor, even with the peanut sauce. My sister and mom liked it, so I think this one comes down to personal preference, but I wouldn't order it again. As for the noodle dishes -- they were all just mid. The beef drunken noodles, duck pad Thai, and duck lion city noodles were fine, but none of them stood out. They weren't bland, but they also weren't memorable. I was hoping for bold flavors, especially in the lion city noodles, but that one especially fell flat. I expected a dry curry noodle dish and instead got something that tasted like a basic stir fry. Not bad, just not exciting. The duck in both dishes was cooked fine, but again -- nothing wow-worthy. The Thai tea was a miss. I could tell just by looking at it that it had too much milk, and once I tasted it, it was basically sweet cream with barely any tea flavor. Wouldn't get again. Overall, the service was lovely and the crab rangoons made it worth the trip, but everything else was kind of forgettable. I wouldn't say no if someone wanted to come back here, but I also wouldn't be the one suggesting it. Still, for the area, it's nice to have a Thai spot that's fast and friendly -- I just wish the flavors packed a bit more punch.
