Minerva's in Wareham is one of those places that's always hit or miss for me. My wife is in love with the pizza but for me, the steak and cheese was crazily under seasoned as in, no salt at all, the previous two times I got it as well as incredibly dry (I will not ever get it again). The pizza is pretty good if you're in the mood for it though. One of the worst customer service problems I have ever had happened with them earlier this year however and I still remember it well. We had ordered onion rings and not received them, the delivery driver was courteous enough...but when he called to have it ready to go and bring them back to us the owner decided to make a point that we had to pay and then pointed out (he talked to my wife on the phone) that we ordered no such onion rings...when we clearly had and the price reflected it but there was conveniently no receipt. So after much fuss we had to pay again for these onion rings and we were not happy BUT...my wife is in love with the pizza there so three reluctant stars need to be given. read more

I ordered a sub platter for a day trip on the boat with 6 members of my sales team. Ordered yesterday to pick up right at 11 when they opened. sandwiches were ready as promised and wrapped in plastic for the cooler. I ordered a mix of cold sandwiches, American, Italian, Roast beef, turkey, chicken salad and a meatless. These sandwiches were delicious, fresh, great soft sub rolls. Minerva's has consistently gone downhill over the past two years that I have ordered from them. I chose them initially for convenience, I live less than half a mile away (one right turn). Today I ordered at 2:20pm for delivery of 2 subs and an order of fries. I was quoted 40 minutes. It was delivered at 3:55pm. I had to call twice for updates on where the order was. The first time, the girl simply said it was on its way. I waited another 15 minutes before calling again. The food got here soggy and lukewarm. The subs were made incorrectly. I gave two stars for the simple fact the delivery driver was apologetic and is always kind. I will order elsewhere, somewhere further away, the next time I want takeout. read more

Some of the worst food I've ever had. French fries are soggy. The wings are breaded, fried and then tossed in buffalo sauce making them soggy and barely edible. Just had a salad with chicken on it. There was an enormous piece of plastic in the salad. The salad itself consisted of a few pieces of iceberg lettuce, a tomato that was barely pink (I realize they're not in season right now) and maybe 2 ounces of chicken that was shredded. I have been visiting Minerva's since I was just a kid, and now every time I adventure home I usually pick something up from there. Unfortunately my last two experiences have been less than savory. The service was lacking both times. I know not to do delivery in Wareham because it takes too long and so I typically opt for pickup. I was quoted 20 minutes for a sub and fry last visit. This trip around same thing and similar quote. Last trip it took 25-30 minutes. This time over 30! For a sub and fryM when I approached the counter the girl told me he was really busy with subs. And the. Another person asked what I ordered and it had been sitting there. The girl was more interested in chatting with her friends than making sure I received my order. Worst customer service ever! 10 minutes after the pick up time I was given one of my pizzas was ready and was told the other was in the oven. 18 minutes later, yes I timed it with their big clock on the wall since I had time to kill, they called me to the counter, gave me the fresh pizza out of the oven and the 18 minute old pizza. Hands down best pizza around. Also when you walk in the owners and staff always greet you as soon as you walk in and immediately take your order no matter what they're doing . But we wanted to try their pizza for the first time so we ordered delivery, they were really quick, could not believe 2 lg pizzas and 1 sandwich would cost $54.00 but lesson learned , we got the pizzas, SOAKING WET on the bottom. If I could give them no stars I would. They offer chicken broccoli and ziti in Alfredo sauce but they can't even do it. They're version of Alfredo sauce is melted butter. Their pizza has no flavor. I rate the Minervas a 3 Based on 5 majors themes i see prevalent with their business 1. Accessibility = They have parking on the street but that is because it is main street and behind is a whole area to park along the train tracks. that being said they have no clear parking such as signs or a parking lot. not much can be done with that because of there location. = 4/5 2. Service = Not terrible, but not fabulous either. I find that there are a select group of older gentlemen who are almost models of customer service working at this location which very much impressed me. Others there are not bad but they could use some work.They are quick and they update you when your food is almost ready. All in all not bad though. = 4/5 3. Food/Beverage = For a pizza place, there pizza is very good. I find it to be just enough, satisfying and has plenty of options. The flavor is there but it could be more prevalent. Classic cheese is always supreme but i suggest exploring options when you are If you are to go there i would suggest a side of fries. They are crunchy, hot, and always seasoned perfectly. However, this team has a lot to work on when it comes to their subs and "pastas". I Find that their Subs are decently sized and look appetizing but when you bite into them i feel like id rather eat a shingle! Come on guys! wheres the taste... tisk tisk... The pastas have almost the same problem. Their Chicken and broccoli ziti was bland and had a pool of oil at the bottom of the bowl that seemed to exceed the cheesy-ness of the dish i was disappointed when i received it. An Aspect i do appreciate by the Minervas team is their beverage selection. They have commercial soft drinks (cans), beers (some for a $1), and they have their own line of bottled soft drinks. i find that to be almost cultural when a restaurant has there own sodas. It shows pride and initiative and i like that. also they always seem to deliver fresh ingredients which i will bet my paycheck that everyone likes. I give them a 3/5 for Food/ Beverage. 4. Atmosphere = What the heck is going on? They have a the most estranged arrangement of furniture in this place its an eye sore. they need to fix it. They have one patch of fake grass along a half wall that goes through the middle of the part where customers sit which makes no sense. Not great for large groups or even groups of 5+. Near two of the tables against the window, there are two large shadowing Ficuses that make it almost impossible to see outside and access the seats on that side. One large TV is perfectly placed above the counter playing sports or news. Outside seating is in an alley .... they have a water view and a main street view and they put the seating in the alley. not the best location for that. They keep it clean and up to date throughout the whole restaurant so i give them that credit. ill give them a 3/5 for Atmosphere. 5. Price = For a pizza place i will say that it is a little pricey but not by much. if you are a family of four you can eat for around $45-55 dollars and all leave happy. 4/5 Do i suggest this restaurant to the average person? Yes, the average person will enjoy this restaurant. This is a well designed restaurant and i do believe that with some work they can and will be even better! All I can say is what a disappointment. I ordered a thin crust "extra crispy" pizza and got a soggy mess. The dough was horrible with a nasty aftertaste. Bisquick would have done a better job. Every time we call and order, the price total is higher than what is listed on the menu. They seem to have a lot of price increases. The last straw was the other day when we got a small, and I do mean SMALL, Mediteranean pizza, and a large linguica. The total should have been $24 but was just a few cents under $30. That is outrageous!! Have they heard about the major recession we're in? Seriously we must have walked out of there with what should have been maybe $18 worth of food but paid $29. This site calls the price range of $11 - 30 per person "moderate", but I consider it high. Disappointed. First time eating from Minerva I got delivery and in my order was a chicken sandwich. I was expecting a nice fried piece of chicken filet. What I got was a previously frozen chicken patty. Tonight I ordered delivery again. I got a BBQ chicken pizza. I'm not from this area and just moved from NH I guess that might be the difference here, but to me a BBQ chicken pizza has BBQ sauce instead of red pizza sauce. I get this pizza because I cannot eat red sauce without it upsetting my stomach / digestive tract. I called immediately after receiving the pizza to request a new pizza and was told I can't help you with that it's already been delivered do you want to talk to my boss. I said yes please they got on the phone quickly and I was basically told all the pizza comes with red sauce if I didn't want it that way I needed to specify. The most of the food here isn't too bad but it's a shame they couldn't comp one single pizza even after I told them I couldn't eat the red sauce. Not to mention that my house is only 2 minutes down the road if they couldn't spare the driver I could have gone and gotten it - but they wouldn't budge. read more
