Complete and utter TRASH. if you enjoy eating steel wool along with your food, then by all means go visit this place. We had a Uber eats order, green pepper, steak and onions egg drop soup and Kung pow chicken. The Kung pow chicken was soggy and without spice, the egg drop soup tasted like water and the green pepper steak had shards of would look like a steel wool pad in it. In addition to the shorts, the meat didn't taste like meat at all. I'm not trying to say that it wasn't Meat but what I'm saying is the quality of the meat was so bad that I don't know how they made it into a dish. We immediately contacted Uber eats and we tried calling a restaurant, but to no avail. As bad as the food was, we really only asked for a refund of the green pepper steak since while the rest was edible it didn't have foreign material in it. Recent edit it declaimed to Uber eats several times and each time was told that they're working on it only to have it reach a 30 day mark and then be told there's nothing we can do. Used to be better. No taste in the steamed dumplings. Very little taste in the spring rolls and the picture shows three but you get two. And it does say two in the description but the picture is very misleading. House fried rice was so The ribs are tasty but you get 4 1/2 small for $10. It's not fancy, but who doesn't love affordable tasty Chinese food for either dine-in or ideally delivery or takeout. Many other cities have places like this all over town but NOLA is a bit lacking - and the high-priced pretentious Chinese joints opening over the past years just aren't great. Ming Garden has reliable, very good Chinese food of both the authentic and decidedly non-authentic variety. General Tso is very good as is Kung Pao and Mongolian Beef. Lo Mein is fine but I've certainly had much better. But for most people this will be one of the better Chinese options in town, definitely give it a try. read more

This was my first time ordering from this establishment as the place I usually order from is closed on Saturdays for some odd reason. I ordered Kung Pao Chicken and had it not been for the 3 or 4 tiny pieces of meat I would have thought it was a vegetarian dish. The egg rolls were soggy and rancid so either fried in old oil of the skins were rancid. Threw them in the trash. The steamed dumplings were OK but the dipping sauce was just awful. read more

My friend ordered takeout here and it was excellent. I ordered the honey chicken while my friend ordered the off the menu Mongolian Beef. The beef was to die for. The sauce on the beef was so good I poured it all over my rice. They also have off the menu curries. Too bad I can't select 3.5 because that's closer to my true rating. I've got a really bad cold which makes me crave hot and sour soup. They are pretty close to my house with no delivery fee via Door Dash so I decided to give Ming Garden a try. Delivery was very fast which was a plus. I very much enjoyed the hot and sour soup. The entree was ok. I liked the flavor of the pork fried rice, but not the best I've had. The Bourbon chicken was tender and in chunks like they pulled it off the bone. The description said teriyaki flavored with broccoli. There were only 3 pieces of broccoli which was a bit disappointing. It almost has a ginger flavor which was good but not what I was expecting. For the price and convenience I'll give them another try with a different selection of entree. Sorry that I didn't take pictures, with this cold I was so ready to dive into that soup! read more

After a long Christmas Day we decided to order in and wanted some Chinese food. We both wanted general tso's chicken and enjoyed the options given for rice (shrimp fried rice, chicken fried rice, pork fried rice, or white rice). I got the pork fried rice and they threw in a pork eggroll. The pork fried rice, broccoli, and chicken were all very delicious and it's a generous serving (I'll easily have three servings of food). We also got an order of pork fried dumplings which were also good. We've never dined in but have ordered from them through delivery apps a few times and have always enjoyed the food. We came into town for Mardi Gras and I raved about the food in New Orleans as my bf has never come. After the parade last night we stopped for a quick bite. This did NOT add up to the kind of cuisine I'm used to here! There was ants everywhere! In the rice in the noodles. I'm not sure if it was sitting all day before we got it or what. Needed a quick snack so I thought I'd grab my go-to 3 shrimp rolls....til I saw the price!!! 2 cost more than 3 at my half dozen fav joints back home. Always fresh, tasty and quick. Favorite dishes are the General's chicken and Mongolian beef. The chicken is always crispy and fresh and isn't drowning in sauce. The fried chicken wings and crab Rangoon are also a good choice. Their sweet ice tea and fried dough( taste like biegnet's) are amazing. So I've been a very loyal customer to Ming Garden for the past 3 years solid. The food quality is still good... the customer service/ attention to detail has gone WAY downhill. They CONSTANTLY forget parts of your order (they leave eggrolls out, sauce, sometimes entire dishes) so ALWAYS check to make sure you got what you ordered. The final straw that made me start the search for a new cheap chinese place was when they gave me a completely separate dish that looked exactly like what I normally order... until you bite into it. But then I was dissapointed when I opened the box to see what was basically chicken fingers with orange sauce on it. The menu did say it was "battered" but thats normal for the orange chicken, seasame chicken, and general tso's chicken. It has a crispy coating that I love. Not this orange chicken. It was a thick batter that got soggy from the sauce. The flavor of the sauce was good. I might ask to have them prepare the chicken another way next time and see if the accomodate. A small, family-owned restaurant with a few dine-in (super-casual) tables and takeout. The food is always delicious, and the service welcoming and attentive. I often order the Thai Panang curry, and it is excellent -- your choice of meat or tofu in a savory coconut broth with vegetables. The steamed white rice is as good as the best I've had anywhere. The staff are happy to make special orders (leave out this, add that, make this dish with a different sauce, make a Combination Plate not listed on the menu, etc.). I appreciate the number of vegetarian options on the menu, as well as the choice of shrimp egg rolls along with pork. But his descriptions of what the food were so left from what they really were it was just sad. So I got wings w/ pork fried rice and an order of cho chos. It was sad that the ONLY thing in this whole order that was edible was the cho chos, the wings didnt even seem fresh. It was almost like they had wings that was sitting there and they re-fried them. I don't know why the rice wasnt even a descent fried rice like how bad can you really mess that up? Well, apparently you can mess it up pretty badly.
