This place gets crazy busy! As with most dim sum places I've been to, the wait for weekend dimsum gets really long. I was here for a bday party so luckily we had a table reserved(must meet a $$ minimum in order to reserve a table). Service wAs really fast and friendly and the waiters were really great with the kids at the table, cleaning up space immediately as they saw fit. The food was excellent. Everything was fresh, flavorful and very clean. My husband who doesn't prefer dimsum said he really enjoyed it as well! read more

The service is terrible and the workers are racist. When my family and I walked in they gave us the worst seat possible which is the very corner and we had 5 people at a 4 person table. So, then she showed us a table and said "can you finish before 6?" When it was already 5:30 when we walked in. Then another worker came and told us we could sit there and then she comes back and says we can't because she already told us we can't. Also it was the front desk girl and gave us side eyes and looks the whole time. Then another family walked in that's a different race than us and the same girl gives them the seat that we were supposed to "finish at six" when they didn't have a reservation for that table either. read more

Ordered a whole ginger and scallion chicken (薑蔥霸王雞), which is supposed to be freshly steamed then served cold, but was served a not-so-fresh, obviously overcooked specimen with a nauseous odor cultured by its stint in the microwave after an overnight stay in the refrigerator. read more

I had the occasion to stop in for lunch. As I was by myself it was difficult to keep the dishes to a minimum as I enjoy Chinese food so much. Did you know that in China they just call it food? Ah, I enjoy my own humor. Seriously though, the food was tasty and of decent quality and volume. I started with two dim sum dishes which came out nice and hot. Very delicious. I'll show you pictures. The lunch special with noodles and beef with veggies was good but I added some red chili sauce to bring up the flavor to my liking. Once I did that it was perfect. Meat was decent quality and not tough. Price was good too at under $8 for that. Came with egg roll and a soft drink. Nice! Egg rolls were fried golden brown and had a nice filling and were a standout. Hot and Sour was full of shrimp and the rest of the standard ingredients but, oops, they forgot to make it good. Sorry but the stuff went uneaten and I had them take off the bill, which they did without question. I really wanted it to be great but let's move on. We have eaten at the Chinatown location at least 20+ times, including hosting two large parties there, and were completely satisfied with the service and food. On the hand, however, the people working the front of Rolling Meadows location were totally ADRUPT AND RUDE. Today's encounter is the last straw. I called to reserve a table for four and the woman shouted at me that six people was their minimum for a reservation and then immediately hung up before I was able to ask a question. The staff moved in concert to make sure you were able to order quickly, get your drinks and food in a timely manner. The stars for me were the delicious shrimp rolls, shrimp fried rice and pea tips in garlic sauce. Nom nom nom This location has a bunch of space for different size groups. Big or small reservations will fit nicely here and have a great time. First time here and I will definitely come back to try other things on this menu. read more

Did you know they got awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand for the fourth consecutive year?! I've been here many times and their food are always delicious and fresh. I'm not sure why some people have bad experiences here... Go early!!! Try to avoid lunch/dinner rush. Waiting times will be 30-45 mins at least. Luckily they have a big parking lot so you don't have to worry about not finding a parking space like going to Chef Ping. Some of my favorite dim sum items are: Shrimp dumplings, Siu Mai, Countryside dumpling, Stuffed bean curd skin, Spare ribs with black bean sauce, pan fried turnip cake, shrimp roll, egg roll, stir fried sticky rice, shrimp crepe, BBQ pork bun, and the Pork Congee. If you can still continue eating after stuffing you face with delicious dim sum, I would also recommend their dinner menu items. Any seafood I have ordered has been super fresh. Their bbq dishes are nicely flavored. But I would avoid the roast pork belly because you are basically just eating pig fat lol. Their veggie dishes are good too. Stir fried string beans and Choy Sum are my favorite. And if the food here is "too authentic" for you, you can't go wrong with ordering fried rice or their lo mein. I'm glad I don't have to drive all the way to either Chinatown or Naperville to enjoy authentic Chinese cuisine. read more

I loveeeeeeee dimsum and this is my go to place for dimsum. Their food is great the service is great and its rare that you will see this place empty. One thing tho. They want a party of 6 and above before you are able to make a reservation. And if you get there they will only give you a table when the whole party is there. For the food. The go to food are Siomai, Hakao, Beef Balls, Raddish Cake, Beef Brisket. I loveeee these dimsum and its a must order for your table. I do love spareribs but for some reason. I didnt like their spareribs and its all bones. Its suppose to have bones but it should have an ample amount of meat too. Something new we tried was the vermicelli noodles with duck and it was good. Tasty. Their YangChow Fried Rice is good too. Personally I'm not a yangchow fried rice kinda girl. The Shrimp Roll is good but you need to dip it in the sauce its with. Used to be great but not anymore Not sure what happened. I used to come here all the time. Two years ago, this place was awesome. I was so excited to eat there coming from Vegas. The first sign that something was wrong was that it was 1245 and there was not a line outside the door and that this place was not mostly full of Asian customers. I ordered the chilled jellyfish, beef, crêpe, meatballs, soy skin with pork and shrimp, rice noodle with beef. The beef balls were weird and mushy and a weird, reddish brown color. The jellyfish have been soaked way too long and was mushy and immersed in some sort of chili oil, but other than that it had no taste. Next was the beef crêpe, same thing, the rice noodle was overcooked, and there is no taste on the beef. The only thing that managed to be decent was the beef stir fried noodles and the chrysanthemum tea. service was decent. But sadly, this dim sum spot is not up to par and I'll be looking for a new favorite spot in Schaumburg. read more

We were eventually seated at a table for four, but the wait for our food was still quite long, it took almost 2 hours to finish. The service from the waitstaff wasn't very friendly. After over two years of being open, I can't get enough of Ming Hin. The service is as great as when they opened, the food has consistently delivered the same great quality and taste they are known for and the place continues to get packed. We came to eat dinner on a Saturday evening during the fall season. It was raining that evening, mind you, and we had to wait about 25 minutes to get seated. People, remember where this place is located... Rolling Meadows for Christ's sake and it was still that long of a wait. That alone says a lot for what's in store. You can order dim sum by using their paper menu and by indicating how many of any dish by the respective dish. There are also some signature dishes on the back of the dim sum menu such as Chinese broccoli and other greens as well as chow mein noodles and fried rice options. Several of our favorites to order are the shrimp dumplings, the shrimp shu mai, the BBQ short rib with honey, the shrimp or beef crepes, the egg custard cups and finish it out with the sesame seed balls filled with mung bean. We also order Chinese broccoli and BBQ pork fried rice to compliment our dim sum. I love MingHin!! I've been to the Chinatown location several times, but went to the Rolling Meadows location last night for the first time. My boyfriend and I walked in and thought the restaurant looked so nice! There was a lot of seating, comfy chairs, and really nice art on the walls. You are given an iPad to order on when you sit down. We agreed that it is such a helpful element when ordering. They have a pretty extensive menu, but it helps to have all the pictures and descriptions they provide. My favorite item on the entire menu is the stir fried rice noodle roll with xo sauce! It is so delicious with the perfect flavor! I can't go to MinHin and not eat these noodles. I also love that they have bubble teas on their menu too. I tried the triple berry bubble tea and it was delicious! I highly recommend MingHin if you are in search of a new restaurant to try! read more

This place.....I'm speechless! Everything is made fresh like literally mouth burning but so good you can't stop eating. I had a really hard time not ordering the whole menu! My favorites were the salt and pepper shrimp, Singapore noodles, and green beans! Tbh these are the best Singapore noodles I've ever had. I also ordered a mango smoothie with tapioca for dessert and the boba was the perfect texture and the mango was so fresh and not too sweet! I was denied service because of my service dog. I was told they require an id which is not required by Ada law. There is no such thing as a service dog certification. Not to mention they have a sign on the door that says service dogs welcome. I am incredibly disappointed in them cause they don't even know the laws and shooed us out without even checking them. As other reviews pointed out, the food was served lukewarm and main course was average at best. The hostess was very rude. She threw the menus and iPad on the table and walked away and we felt very unwelcome at the restaurant. We no longer recommend this restaurant. It completely went downhill. I had a long day and wanted some general tso's lol.. instead I was very pleasantly surprised with some of the best food I have had in a long time. How did I not know this is in my backyard. I've already made plans to go back with friends. I was feeling very adventurous and ordered durian turnovers, yup Durian... for those that don't know it's a gross smelling but amazing tasting fruit. When I ordered it the waiter asked me if I knew what it was. Yup bring it on!!! I ordered another one too to go. This is my new favorite dish, creamy smooth, sweet taste wrapped in flaky dough... Something is wrong with this place. Their dim sum is not good at all. I've been here numerous times and their food tasted bad every single time. Years ago when they first opened, the food was fine. But not anymore. Service is ok, as they're pretty quick with their food. Ambiance is actually nice in there, since there's a lot of space. They were doing a great job with take out while the restaurant was closed. You go inside, check in then go back to your car and wait for them to tell you it's ready. It is a very efficient system. We are about 20m away and everything stayed hot and was well packed. The incredible Seafood with Pan fried noodle was the star and just as good as eating it there. We did a assortment of some of our favorite Dim Sum items including BBQ Pork, Shumai both steamed and baked BBQ pork buns, Ha Gow, Egg Custard buns all great and traveled well. Seriously, what happened? This place used to be great and the food was seriously awful the last time we were in for dim sum. The shrimp in the changfun were rubbery and tasteless. All of our food was cold. It was pretty obvious that our wu gok had been leftover and tossed in the fryer again to warm up. The ham su gok were hard as a rock. The service was rough too. We came here for my grandma's 93rd birthday and everyone was pleased with the quality of the food. Favorites: Soft Shell Crab - Very tasty bite sized pieces. Didn't taste too greasy. Mongolian Beef - Tender and juicy meat filled with great spices. Higher quality than other places We also enjoyed the Chinese broccoli with beef and seafood and vegetables with crispy noodles and shrimp with peapods. The sea bass was another favorite at our table. Since we ordered nine dishes in addition to two appetizers, it would have been nice if they spaced out the nine dishes a little more rather than bringing most of them at the same time since the table was too small to accommodate all of them. I was in town for 30 hrs and was originally disappointed bc I was a bit far from downtown. On a positive note, my friend lives close by and picked me up for lunch. When she asked if I wanted dim sum, I was surprised there was a place in town that served it aside from Chinatown. It was a bit on the expensive side but the food was fresh and pretty good. One of my favorite places to eat at when I'm in Chicagoland! Their menu is extensive and it's really cool that you can order on an iPad instead of using pen and paper. Their dim sum is pretty good. My marker for a good dim sum place is if their har gaow and siu mai are delicious. MingHin definitely passes the test ;) A couple of their items are cooked differently than what I eat in Manhattan's Chinatown. Like the nest for the seafood in bird's nest was made out of noodles instead of taro. Their fried squid was also long and skinny instead of the short, thick cuts. The food is definitely on the pricier end, but worth it if you want to get your Cantonese fix in. read more

The food was all so fresh, hot and delicious! Plus my whole order was accurate and ready on time! This used to be my go-to spot for dimsum and Chinese food, but it hasn't been up to their normal standards the past two times we dined in. We typically enjoy beef chow fun, beef pan fried noodles, salt and pepper squid/fish/tofu, and variety of dimsum items. The service is pretty good, I have always gotten seated in a timely manner and they always bring you extra sauces and refill you cup often. The atmosphere is nicer for a family dinner but it is a pricier Chinese restaurant. I don't think the price is worth coming here to eat if you want good Chinese food. read more

Came here at 6 pm today for a spontaneous Valentine's Day dinner because Sushi Station had too long of a wait. This place was in the same plaza and we were able to get seated immediately, so we came here instead. Ordering is a bit weird, as the dim sum menu is on a piece of paper that you mark off with a pen, but the rest of the menu is on an iPad. I guess drinks are on other paper menus, too. We only got a wine list and no smoothie menu at our table. The restaurant is quite spacious and filled with Chinese decorations reminiscent of places in Switzerland that kind of scream this is a Chinese restaurant! Everything looked modern and the whole place was VERY brightly lit for a restaurant. We got: 1. Siu mai- Huge, succulent pieces that I enjoyed, although my bf got something crunchy in his first bite that turned him off to eating any more of it. 2. BBQ pork ribs- Bones in every piece made it a bit tricky for my bf to eat. Flavor was ok, meat was a bit on the dry side. 3. Pan fried vegetable and pork buns- Yummy but lukewarm. 4. Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce- Looked a bit yellowish like it was overcooked, but tasted fine with a nice crunch. 5. Pan fried taro cake- Very dense and a bit dry but very tasty. Overall, I enjoyed the flavor of the food but was disappointed that it was only lukewarm instead of piping hot. If the kitchen had spent a bit more time heating up the food, everything would have been way better. It was nice that tea and almond cookies and fortune cookies were on the house, although the dessert wasn't the best I've ever had. I dunno if this is the gold standard for dim sum in the Midwest, as I can only compare it to places I've been to in L.A. where they push carts of steaming hot food right up to your table. But it was nice to finally try out this restaurant and see what it was all about. read more

So I recently had a milestone birthday, Big, huge! And I wanted one of my celebrations to be with family and our family friends. We didn't want to celebrate where the crowds would be heavy or where we'd feel too smooshed together and MingHIn was the perfect choice. We had a party of about 30 people, all ages. And in talking with the owner/manager, the best time to book it was after the lunch rush but before dinner service. We opted for a Sunday afternoon and It was perfect timing. We had 3 large tables with lazy susans to make passing the dishes easier. We were also in the West part of the restaurant and away from any diners who happened to come in at the time. We had to pre-order our meal choices per their request. And to make it easier, each table had the same dishes, served dim sum/family style. No problem here, I wanted my guests to not worry about what to order and to enjoy some of their favorites as well as mine. It was definitely easy all around. They let us bring in our own cake and had dishes and utensils ready for the cake cutting. They were available for any of our needs. I'm pretty sure everyone enjoyed their meal and the service provided. A great success. I've always been a fan of this location as well as the Chinatown location and for my milestone birthday, they did not disappoint! read more
