We went to Thai Hut on 1604 and Bitters for lunch today. Lunch specials are available every day of the week. Dad had the Three Flavored Fish, no spice, with steamed rice. I had the Red Curry with shrimp, medium spice, with steamed rice. Hubby had the Drunken Noodles with shrimp, medium hot spice. All of the lunch specials come with a vegetable spring roll, soup of the day (ours was hot and sour soup), and iced tea. Great deal for great food. Stop on over for your next lunch!

As soon as we walked in we were seated and we received our food and drinks in less than 10 minutes. Food was amazing! I had the sesame chicken and it was really crispy and flavorful. The ambience is very cultural and they have some cool pictures and paintings. Great restaurant!

Favorite spot for Thai! Every time we visit another, regret comes free as a side dish. Absolutely love the pad Thai

Great food, great service at a great price is extremely hard to find in todays market. But this place does a great job. We even sat David Robinson drop in for a to go order, so if true San Antonio Royalty is stopping in for a Togo order you know it's good. Lunch special was great!

Looked for a spot here in San Antonio for some Thai food after a long day at Seaworld. Place was very busy, but was able to be seated very quickly. Got the Pad Woon Sen with tofu as the protein. Very delicious and filled me up. The only complaint that I would have is we tried to order the chicken patay as an appetizer but they didn't have it available which was a let down. Other than that attentive staff to their best of ability with how busy it was that day.

Yum! This place was very good. The food was hot and fresh. The service was quick and friendly. We went on a slow day and the restaurant was quiet but we enjoyed the ambiance. We will be back for the lunch specials.

I'm an out of towner and looked up Thai Hut Restaurant on Yelp. I'm glad that I did! I ordered a chicken Pad Thai and was happy with the order. The food was terrific and was portioned just right. I'll be coming back to Thai Hut for more Pad Thai soon.

Great weekday lunch specials that include an entrée, soup, eggroll and drink. It can get pretty packed in here, so expect a wait or come a little early! The prices are also reasonable from $10-15. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive. How was the food? I thought it tasted pretty good for the basic pad thai and drunken noodles I've eaten before. It's a basic lunch spot for thai favorites without the stuffiness of fine dining. If I came for dinner, I might try something more adventurous on the menu.

Pad se ew with chicken, complimentary chicken and rice soup with iced tea- shockingly good deal at around 10 bucks! Ample portions and quick turn around- the food was yummy and it did have a lot of chicken. Will return for more!

Ask the Community - Thai Hut Restaurant

I noticed that some of the noodle dishes have rice noodles. Are these dishes completely gluten free, sauce included?

    For the Pad Thai, Yes!

Is the boba tea only smoothie tea or is there regular tea?

It’s mostly smoothie tea, but we do serve one that’s not smoothie tea which is the Thai tea boba tea.

Hot and fresh ingredients the quality that I choose and best of all, if I want more all I have to do is get up, get a fresh plate and cook up more. The only bummer is that I can't box up my left overs and take it home. The service, well, I have no complaints. She was attentive and friendly while we were eating, BUT I did have to go find her when it was time to go. And the ambiance, it wasn't anything special. Just suitable for any size group, like me and my daughter. Or the family group of 10+ just across the room. Everyone had plenty of room. All was good and well, so here's my beef... Cleanliness!! We were escorted to a not so clean table that the hostess brushed food off the table then laid down own menus. But that wasn't the worse of it. These was noodles in the cracks of the seat. And not just one or two. Kind of creeped me out. Love the food but cleanliness matters...or I may not be back.

It's a little expensive, even for a weekend. You would expect more and better choices for the prices we paid. About $80 for two adults and a midget. They had your typical fare. The least favs-ribs(tough/dry and no flavor), steak(tough and under seasoned), steam buns(the filling just no), bourbon chicken(dry chicken and not enough sauce), and the consensus least fav were all the desserts. There was flying bugs, and everything was super dry and tasted old. I get it, what do expect for a Chinese buffet in San Antonio? Well I expect no flying insects in the desserts for the price I paid. Also, 75 % of the fruit we got was as tough as the steak. Oh, and the cold shrimp, either overcooked or thawed the wrong way. The shell was practically glued on. The positives-all the rice and noodle dishes were good to ok. The hot and sour soup was really good! The teriyaki chicken was actually good. The bigger sauced rib was good. The kimchi was some of the better we've had recently. The spring rolls with peanut were good. The two fish dishes we had(fried and not fried) were actually quite nice. All the breads were good. The waitress was very nice and attentive. Almost forgot, the bathrooms were kinda gross. They need to be kept clean. Will not come back again.

The buffet options are good, but their general tso's chicken is not the best (and I judge how good overall Chinese buffets on this lol). A surprise hit is the sautéed green beans, which are perfectly cooked and garlicky--just like how you'd find it traditionally cooked in Chinese cuisine. I also think they're deep fried (salt and pepper?) shrimp (next to the crawfish) is very delicious. Plates are cleared pretty quickly and the buffet space is kept orderly and decently clean.
