So far, so good. This little breakfast/lunch spot has been solid, especially for the price point. We sometimes hit Fling Cocktails next door for some day drinking and you can go to this spot, order food and they will deliver it to you in the bar. This place has the best breakfast burritos! Dont expect a huge burrito because they arent but the flavors are spot on and they are filling. Their red salsa is to die for.add that in the burrito.and its heaven in your mouth!!! We have been here many times and IDK why im just reviewing. A well kept secret in the city of Santa Ana, if you're a fan of big portions of great food for dirt cheap then Mini Cafe is your spot to check out. I first found out about Mini Cafe on the blog, Eat in OC. The pictures from the blog looked pretty interesting and reading that this place was cheap and good had me sold. Food - Everything is CHEAP and the food is GOOD. We had the chilaquiles (tortilla chips topped with eggs and cheese with rice and potatoes on the side) and the chicken enchiladas (served with rice and beans). After we sat down and waited for our food we were given a plate of nachos topped with beans and house salsa. The chilaquiles, the combination of eggs, chips, and cheese topped with their house salsa was really good. The egg makes that whole dish. The chicken enchiladas were pretty good as well, but the rice was nothing special. Service - Excellent! The girl that took our order was very polite and helpful. Would I return - YES! We will be back. The prices are amazingly cheap, the portions are perfect, and the salsa is great. On a side note, if you want desert you can go next door to the K & R General Store for 2 for $1 paletas. read more

Huevos Rancheros, a traditional Mexican Breakfast. You can never go wrong with this. The salsa verde is really good here. It's not too spicy. The papas are really good as well, a little crunch on the outside, soft in the inside, well seasoned. Beans are beans, you an most definitely tell that their from the Goya. The amazing thing about this place is that 95% of the menu is less than $5. Big portions of homecooked Mexican and American breakfast - all under $5. How they do it, I don't know - but I want to keep coming for as long as possible until they realize they could easily charge double for their food. I ordered the Chili Chilaquiles, which I can only describe as Green Salsa and Egg Nacho's. They were amazing, huge portion and something like $4.40. We also got 2 eggs, bacon and 2 pancakes for $4. The thing that really blew my mind was their breakfast burritos. I stuffed them full with the salsa they provided and they were absolutely delicious. Large burrito's too. 1 is enough to make you full. Small, run down sort of shop, but the combination of super low prices, good home-cooked food and large portions make this place a local gem for breakfast. read more

I used to come here often when I lived in the area. It's a nice family owned restaurant. Mom and dad are usually in the kitchen/register while the kids serve on the floor. It's really small inside but customers come in and out fairly quick so there is rarely a wait. If I could give them another star just for the complimentary chips and salsa+beans they provide, I would. They are ridiculously good. Everything that I've ordered here has been delicious. My mom goes to the hair dresser a few doors down and I can smell this place every time I take her, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the Chiliquillies and coffee. The eggs were buried beneath the tortillas. Excellent flavor. It came with potatoes and beans. Potatoes were good just like any other fried potatoes, but the beans were unbelievable. Right next to stater bros. is a little family owned mexican/burger joint where you will pay del taco prices but get FAR more superior food. . You order at the register and seat yourself, then they bring you a little basket of nachos consisting of beans and salsa for your appetizer, on the house! (believe me, you won't miss the cheese) They make their own salsa, which is very unique, and super super tasty! I always get the two chicken enchilada meal which comes with rice and beans. Great litte place! Its tucked away in the corner of a plaza with a stader brothers. Its a very small establishment and a very hole in the wall. The selection is small but decent, and the prices are very fair. The food is good and flavorful- I got the California Omlette(precuttio, onion, tomatos, cheese, and avacado on top) with toast, and potatoes. None of it was too greesy, the potates were filling nad very full-bodied. I didn't feel that greesy fullness after i was done. I only wish, there was more cheese. Did I mention all of this for $4.85? Mini cafe is just that a tiny little cafe tucked into the corner of a shopping center. Though small the food is very delicious, well seasoned and no extras just straight up good food. Chef Mario and Mari are operating one of the best Mom and Pop joints I have the pleasure of frequenting. This place is tucked in the corner of a grocery shopping center next to a gem of a dive bar (a different Yelp for a different time). Mario takes pride in the food he puts out there and the homemade salsa is to die for. I seldom venture away from the fish tacos and an appetizer of carne asada nachos to be shared by the family. Definitely honorable mention to the chorizo burrito I used to order when I was next door at the Tustin Villas for Sunday Morning Football. I have been coming to The Mini for about 10 years and it has never been close to my house but it has always been worth the drive. This was obviously a family establishment which is a plus for me. I came here for a quick breakfast while waiting for a friend to finish some errands. I picked this place for proximity and knew nothing about it. I was pleasantly surprised. A young girl took my order. She was polite, efficient and did everything perfectly. I ordered the coffee, chiliqueles and a side of sour cream. It was exactly what I wanted. Everything was brought to me in a couple of minutes and I lacked for nothing. She brought everything the first time which is not as common as you would think in most places. Also, did I mention that the price was right? All of that was less than $10 with tax and tip included. Parking was good because the shop is in the middle of a little strip mall. It is a small cafe, not a lot of seating but there was no wait. This place is freaking legendary. Nothing in Tustin is ever open and the people at Mini Cafe are always here smiling and delivering every time. I've been coming for years. One time I rolled in in a charter bus with all the friends from out of town just to prove that this place is the dopest dope I've ever smoked. And try this on for size.
