We had an amazing breakfast here! My friend and I are both vegans, so we asked if we could get creative with the menu. I asked for the Brussels Sprout Hash with no eggs or Hollandaise but with added arugula, cherry tomatoes, asparagus, and mushrooms. My friend asked for the same to be done to the Hipster Eggs Benedict (no mozzarella as well). I told them they should put these on the menu for vegans! They were amazing! Our server was so friendly and accommodating. She never made us feel bad about how complicated our orders were, and said she'd have to remember them for other patrons that asked for vegan options. It was a beautiful day, so we sat outside. We kept seeing people flooding in and out of the restaurant with Seahawks jerseys and realized they were all waiting for the train to go to the game. What a GREAT brunch spot! Workers said we were lucky it just happened to be a slow Sunday (beginning of sept Labor Day weekend) no wait. Came in and sat down at a table inside the waitress was very sweet and accommodating! Gave us suggestions and our food came out VERY quick (less than 15 I'd guess.) My "loaded waffle" which has biscuit, gravy, bacon and a fried egg was DELICIOUS! I could have done without the biscuit (felt like too much bread) but would HIGHLY recommend. If looking for "has browns or tater tots" def try theirs with the special sauce or they have them with gravy all the food was delicious will def be back! I love that one of my favorite burgers is so close to home AND that they decided to have a similar menu to the original location. We went as soon as they opened and their menu was totally different and...weird. We tried to have the fried chicken and it was too frozen to serve. In fact, a couple walked out because theirs was uncooked after being deep fried. We opted for a tasty but weird pork and ham thing with an added side of mashed potatoes. I honestly forget what else we ordered because it was weird and disorganized. Now that their menu is parallel to the original, we are very happy! The stoner is a hit every single time and the tots, albeit not as good as they used to be are still good. Service is a hit and miss every single time. We love Dirty Oscar's in Tacoma and had to try Mini Oscar's. No disappointment. It looks different inside and outside and not as much of a wait and that is all that is different. We always start with the tot dunkers. Their homemade tots with a great sausage gravy should be enough. We also had the Totchos with Elk and Shrimp and Grits. The elk was so good on the Totchos and the shrimp and grits were fantastic, even as leftovers the next day. Service was great as well. read more

Husband and i went for brunch at about 11am on Sunday 11.20. There were 2 tables left, so we were lucky to have the one table! As more people arrived, they had to wait for tables to open up. As other reviewers noted, there was only 1 person staffing. I didn't catch her name but she is a great testament to dedication and a strong work ethic. Her roles: - greet custoners and direct them to the table - give bad news that all tables are full, with a estimated wait time - take food orders - transit orders to the kitchen -pick up orders from the kitchen - deliver food to tables - manage to go orders - staff the bar and prepare drinks - fill other table drinks. she kept my coffee cup full as well as our water, across all tables - provided our bills, managed cashouts and provided togo boxes - assisted togo phone orders -bussed then cleaned tables and chairs All with a pleasant, polite and kind demeanor Food was great as well. Great plating and taste combinations! Husband had the loaded waffle and loved the variety of waffle, eggs, bacon, biscuits, gravy-- he was stuffed! i was not able to finish my pork verde benedict--way too much food but fantastic flavors! Potatoes tasted like they were fresh.. not from a bagged, frozen preparation-- they were firm to the fork and not soggy! We will return. This is a quiet spot near the sumner sounder station but it does get busy! I have to say this place missed the mark for me. I love Dirty Oscars in Tacoma and seeing that the menu is the same I'm thinking they are owned by the same person. I just wish that person could secure the same quality of food as the Tacoma location. The food here left a lot to be desired in comparison. The service was ok but also could stand to improve. I understand the restaurant struggle these days from personnel shortages to supply chain challenges but that cannot be the excuse forever. read more

Genuinely the worst breakfast experience. The only good thing was the vanilla lattes we ordered. The server couldn't tell me what non-dairy options they had. My friend ordered a cherry cordial coffee and it was disgusting, made totally wrong and curdled. It was corrected by another server. Our server seemed clueless. I ordered a Diablo scramble and the meat and bacon were totally RAW and uncooked and so were my potatoes, which were uncooked, unseasoned, and cold in the middle. I hope I don't get sick. My boyfriend ordered a 2 egg breakfast with over-easy eggs, sourdough (which was an extra charge) and vegan sausage. It came out with regular sausage, white bread, and scrambled eggs. She took off my plate from the bill but we paid for everything else. Soooo bad... I wouldn't eat here. Not food safe. Especially them serving meat when promising vegan and serving raw meat. We love DOA so when we found out they opened this kid friendly place in Sumner, we knew we had to go. Super friendly staff. They were out of some stuff (grapefruit juice for mimosas, sauerkraut, and crab cakes) but we were able to make other choices. Daughter got chicken & biscuit which she devoured. Son got chicken and waffles (HUGE) he was able to eat the bacon filled waffle, but chicken is coming home as leftovers which who can be mad about that. Hubs got the Diablo scramble. He said it could have been spicer, but it was perfect for me who doesn't like pain when I eat. I got the traditional eggs Benny. The hollandaise sauce was out of this world buttery. I WAS TERRIBLY WRONG. My colonels hash did not come with fried nuggets as promised and instead, a poorly undercooked chicken thigh. Came for family brunch. Service already started off poorly, with water only given to half of the party (never returned to give the other half water). When I asked, she acknowledged but never returned. Had to ask another server. We were about 45 in after ordering our food and no one's plate arrived. We noticed other customers that arrived after us received theirs first. Was told by manager that other people's orders were put in before us...why?! Makes zero sense. Staff never came to check on us until the very end. Food arrived. Biscuit was burnt, sausage was uncooked and foul. Chicken was over cooked and dry. I understand short staffing, but the staff that was there made bare minimum effort in making us feel welcome. I mean, we didn't ask for much. Some water? Pretty good food, however, service was slow. It wasn't very busy by the time we were seated, however, we ordered and it took over an hour to get the food. Also, I ordered a latte and the gal essentially forgot about it/me. She got on her phone and sipped her hot drink first. Eventually, about 20mins after ordering, she came over with it and said, "I knew I had to make a latte for someone." Again, food was pretty good. Years ago I remember seeing Dirty Oscar's Annex on Diners, Drive-in's and Dives. I rarely go to Tacoma so I have never been to Oscar's primary location but if a local joint is featured on a show like DDD, I am pretty interested in trying out the food. I only mention this because I had high expectations when I sat down for breakfast at Mini Oscar's Annex. I am so sad to say that I was left very underwhelmed. I ordered the Traditional Eggs Benedict and my husband orderd the Diablo Hash. My husband took a bite of his food first - which looked delicious - but he looks at me and says, "This is super bland." I then took a bite of my breakfast and it too was suuuuper bland. The hollandaise had no flavor at all. The ham from the benedict was the only thing with flavor on either of our plates. Salt! Let's add salt. Afterall, it is a flavor enhancer. But yeah, that didn't do the trick. Salt (and other seasonings) should have been added during the cooking process. The food was just too flavorless for me to justify giving any more stars. I honestly think three is being a little generous. The portions are huge and the place is very clean. read more

The reasons I'll consider coming back and giving them another try are: they have great service, generous portions and beautiful presentation, great drinks (highly recommend a mimosa!), and a nice location including cleanliness and their outdoor patio. However, food was super bland. I ordered the smoked hash and the only component carrying the dish was the pork. The hollandaise was very bland thus everything tasted one - noted. I was very disappointed. Much potential to this place and an enjoyable spot to be so I will come again in another year or so to see if they have improved. This place is truly a hidden gem. My husband and I went on a Saturday evening and it was quiet, I imagine because it's advertised a breakfast place - and a little off the beaten path as it's along a residential area - but everything was great! We sat at the bar and enjoyed drinks with our burgers, it was some of the most flavorful food I've had in a long time. I got the Bison and my husband got The Stoner, they were great and the fries were completely delicious (garlic parm for me rosemary for him). I'm really excited to go back for chicken and waffles! Stopped in last Sunday after getting off the train from the Seahawks game. Initially stopped and thought we would just get a drink while we waited to get get picked up from the station. As we waited, looking over the menu, we could not help but order to go (since we had eaten not long before). Husband got the Chicken and Waffles and I got the Tri-tip Dip with rosemary fires! Went in yesterday to get a little bite to eat. The server came to the table and said we couldn't have salad because they were out of salad dressing.. but then offered it without dressing?? We thought it would be a safe option to order the elk sliders, when we were then told they didn't have slider buns and asked to substitute soooo they did. When the sliders came out, it was missing the aioli. When asked the server if it was supposed to have any, they said they were out and brought ketchup PACKETS. Not even a full bottle. Couldn't see the Facebook reviews which I thought was odd. Came in to try it out and quickly found out why. The place is empty and the service is slow. Waitress was really nice but the wait on everything didn't make sense considering the amount of people in the establishment. The food is bland. We got French toast, pancakes, biscuits and "sausage gravy". There wasn't meat in the gravy at all the potatoes that came with it were over cooked with no seasoning. The biscuit was so dry you could choke on it. The only good thing about that plate was the over easy egg. French toast had no flavor. Drinks were just ok. This is not like DOA which it's clearly based off of. Owner needs to take a hard look at the menu and the fact that none of this food is seasoned and not worth the money to dine in. If you want people to come back, bring in a CHEF because the concept here is great but the delivery is trash. read more

We waited patiently but started eating as our food already was getting cold. We thought perhaps she got side tracked so asked again for salt, pepper and condiments....our meal was half gone when waitress Daniella finally came over with requested items set them on the table and rudely said "I didnt forget, Im busy!" First time visit for Me and Wife to this location in Sumner tonight for dinner. We both ordered the Chicken in a Biscuit and had a glass of water with the meal. We also ordered the candied bacon, but that never arrived, and we were not charged for it. In our opinion, the food was over priced. About double of what it was worth. $14 per meal and when you include tax our total bill was over $30. The Chicken was hot, but not juicy. The breading on the Chicken was flavorless. The sausage gravy was warm at best, and biscuit tasted like it was straight from a box. Our two meals were delivered to the table with three napkin and two forks. No knifes and no salt and pepper, which would have helped to add some flavor to this meal. One Waitress, very busy serving a full house. Service was good and the waitress apologized about not putting the order for the candy bacon in, and asked if we wanted the order to go. We declined, and were not charged for the bacon. All available seating in the Restaurant was taken and it felt too crowded. Server was wearing a mask, and did put on latex gloves when delivering food. No signs about masks or social distancing were to be seen. The Purell station at entry door was empty. We will let this place "mature" and may return in the summer to try out the patio. read more

We were excited to see a version of Dirty Oscar's was now in Sumner. My friend and I stopped in about 5 on a Saturday and the place was dead when we arrived. We were seated and given menus. The waitress seemed either disinterested in providing attentive service or just inexperienced in providing an appropriate customer experience. Came to the table after seating us to drop waters off and immediately turned to leave, had to call her back to ask if we could get some drinks. She almost seemed annoyed. Again nobody inside the restaurant but us. Decor is very Hobby Lobby farmhouse in the worst sense. It felt completely disassociated from their original DOA and just lacking a real identity. We sat an inordinate amount of time with our menus down and to the side waiting to order. A few more tables straggled in while we waited to order. When we finally got to order I went with the pastrami sandwich w/garlic fries and my friend the tri-tip w/rosemary fries. Prior to our food coming out the waitress brought 2 ketchup packets to the table without saying a word. In my 51 years I've never sat down in a restaurant and placed two orders for sandwiches with a combined cost of almost $40 and been given a single packet of ketchup. It wa so bizarre it was comical and my friend and I just looked at each other and started laughing. Waited another inordinate amount of time for the food to finally come out. Once it did we were excited to try our meals. The excitement was short lived. The pastrami was dried out overly salty strings of fried meat. The entire sandwich was like a salt lick and that's saying something since I like salt. My friend said her tri-tip had been cooked to death and was just not great. I left more than half of my sandwich because I couldn't get through the salt overload. I also think they may have just opened s jar of minced garlic and tossed it on the fries. The whole experience from service to food to decor it was just so subpar and disappointing. Would we venture back? Definite no. Do we wish them well and hope they can make a go if it? Absolutely. Owners really need to spend some time at this location getting the staff trained and working on the quality of food leaving their kitchen.. This review mirrors most of the other poorer reviews. Came on a Sunday, 11am. We sat on the patio which was nice, no complaints. We ordered the Hipster and Chicken and waffle, beer and mimosa. The service was mediocre at best. Forgotten items, lengthy wait times even though it was not they busy. After eating, we went to hand a plate to our server who informed us that there are busers ro clear the tables and that if the server takes plates than they get lazy. We didn't need to know this and so make for an awkward moment. The food. Not great. Our food came out cool to warm. The chicken was basically one butterflied breast, breaded and fried. Bland bland and more bland. I thought it would come with a leg and a thigh, not a tasteless breast. Really no flavor at all. The waffle was ok, nothing special. Bready and not very savory. Despite asking for the poached egg to be cooked well done, it came out with runny whites, which is straight nasty. We should have sent it back. The hollendaise sauce was also bland and lacked flavor completely. Overall we would try once more but if the food and service doesn't improve there is no way after that. The the prices?? On the hunt for a brunch location this morning, we found this place and have it a shot. The food was good. We ordered the waffle rito which is basically a waffle cone stuffed with chorizo, egg, onions, etc and the pork Benedict. The Benedict appeared to be a bit watery due to the slaw. The waffle rito was surprisingly good. However, I would recommend staying away from the drinks. We ordered a cold fashioned and mint something. The drinks came in low ball classes full of ice and didn't really feel like I should have paid what we did for them. Would come back for the food again but maybe just go with a mimosa next time. read more

My sisters & I went to brunch with my 2 nephews. From finding a table to sit, to ordering, to how the food came out; the whole experience was a let down. I was dissapointed at the organization & service provided & super disappointed with the food. We had to keep asking the server for the extra's we requested at the time of order. Bloody Mary's didn't come as explained on menu, my plate was dirty around the edges & I don't think I can see myself recommending this location to anyone.
