They also helped disassemble and re-assemble furniture and put everything exactly as we like. The communication was great and they are just great guys in general. We ultimately chose them over other movers also because during the consultation stage, they facetimed with us and discussed quotes after seeing our place during facetime. I think that's important because we had key items we wanted to make sure were safe and they could also see how much stuff we had and prepare the right amount of people and time. I really valued the thoroughness before the move and during the move. We have recommended them to all our friends and will use them for all future moves.

Additionally, one of our TV mounts was lost. We notified the movers shortly after (a day) and was told by the owner that their crew checked the trucks and did not have it. I was told specifically from Dan that the moving trucks get cleaned out at the end of the day after every move. After they told us they didn't have it, we went out to buy the same exact mount. 5 days later, it was found in their trucks. The communication around this whole situation was very frustrating for me and my wife. She got in contact with the owner via phone call to try to rectify the situation. What was agreed on was to comp us for the repurchasing of the same mount and $100 to a cracked table. Days later, the owner changed his mind and refused to comp for the mount. Tried to argue that we somehow should have waited even after they told us they didn't have it, 5 days after the move. Then told us that we had somehow should have chosen the cheapest mount. Mind you, we purchased same exact mount we lost -- yet we were told they will only comp us for the "cheapest" mount available. My wife had to point out that they explicitly told us they couldn't find it, are we expected to just wait? And apparently we should have known to purchase the cheapest one somehow? This whole thing is dragged on unnecessarily.

Overall our experience was good, but I don't think I would use them again. A little background: It was a super hot day, and I felt bad for the movers. They didn't seem to have water or proper PPE for the weather. The positive: Movers were on time and ready to work! Items were moved carefully, but they probably could have used a third worker based on the items we had. I feel I was transparent with how much items we had including heavy items. The negative: Two movers were not enough based on the items we had including heavy items. The move took much longer than expected. Movers seemed really irritated the whole time, which I can't tell if it was from the heat or we did something wrong. Movers also left garbage behind and we had to clean up after. Usually the moving company will follow up after to see how things went, but we never heard from Nancy. Nancy also said she would come to check in during the move, but never did. We paid, and it was done. I think overall, it was a fine experience, but not to the level of other moving companies I've worked with before. Based on the more recent reviews, it looks like some improvements have been made which is great!

It was just under a week so I was very grateful that they were available. I called back on Thursday to confirm and was told by Tom that they have me down for 9am on Sunday and they had my address. Sunday comes, I call just after 9am. Tom picks up and says he does not know anything about the move and that I may have spoken with his son, also named Tom, apparently. He said they don't have me listed anywhere and he did not have any trucks available. The best he could do was meet me Monday morning between 9-10am. He apologized and said he would take 20% off the bill and agreed to reduce the minimum hours required. Okay. Monday comes. At 10am, I call and it goes to a voicemail so I leave a message. I call again at 10:15am and someone answers saying the owner of the phone lost it and he plans to meet him later to return his phone and that I should leave a message hoping he would check it. I left another message. I have never received another call from either Tom. NO CALL, NO SHOW, 2 DAYS IN A ROW! I ended up looking at U-Haul's website hoping I could get a few people to help me move my large items since my family and I moved just about everything else at this point. Thankfully, U-Haul now partners with moving helpers. I checked out reviews and selected a company called Pack and Load Pros out of N. Highlands. They fit me in the same day since it would be a quick job and I was able to complete my move. BHP Moving and Storage are, by far, the most unprofessional moving company I've ever dealt with. I had to take an extra day off of work and instead of paying for moving services, I had to put a huge burden on family members and myself to do extra lifting and moving unexpectedly. Using the alternative method cut my moving costs in half so I still see the blessing at the end of it all. But I warn you to use another company.

The estimator MISSED the necessary space to load our personal goods by approximately 50% (almost 6000 cubic feet according to the movers working day of) causing us to have to donate quite a bit of items (beds, wine refrigerator, bicycles, chairs etc). The movers were amazing though and stayed out, in the rain, attempting to get as much loaded as possible. ADVICE: do not get ANY estimate without one of the loaders involved in seeing the personal goods (it created an approximately additional 35% expense). The actual movers knew withing 10 minutes of walking the property that they were NOT going to be able to load everything. UPDATE (FROM COMPANY RESPONSE) FOR FULL CLARITY: The "overall" comment is inherently incorrect (and disappointing) as it fails to recognize the significant additional expense of having to make other arrangements from the missed estimate as well as the fact there was a completely empty Turner moving truck onsite and Turner did not offer to take the furniture which was not able to be loaded temporarily until other arrangements could be made the next day due to their error.
