    Large pizza

We can't get enough of this place!!! This was our first dine in experience and it was amazing. Our server was Avery and he was very kind and attentive. The garlic bread was seasoned and perfectly toasted! The pizza was saucy and delicious!!! The marinara sauce was the perfect sweetness that will keep us coming back for more!

I don't often go to places without pizza in the name to get pizza, but Minico's may have changed that. I ordered the Italian sub and a cheese pizza with roasted peppers. The first thing I noticed was the golden crisp of both of the doughs, with the gentlest crack with every mouthwatering bite. Once I got through the breading, the flavor of the ingredients whisked me away to the farms they came from. I could taste the fresh tomatoes with every bite of the pizza and each spice in the meat of the sub. The staff was very nice and someone came out of the kitchen to help me when he noticed the person at the register was occupied. The inside of the restaurant also had a very cozy atmosphere. One thing that I must comment on is that I originally wanted a cheese pizza but they are priced as cheese with one topping. I don't know if they add extra cheese to make up for the price of one topping but this is the first place I have seen that starts pricing with one topping instead of just cheese. I will be highly recommending this restaurant to people on their hunt for delicious pizza.

Busy Friday night, some chaos at the host stand between pick ups and dine in patrons. We were seated eventually. Ordered, drinks etc. All fine. This is the type of place I went to in high-school, folksy, local, in no way high brow or hipster with lots of young high-school aged (seemed like first jobs) wait staff. Italian wedding soup has too much egg or I'm used to other clear broth versions. Only a few meatballs so I would likely pass next time. We ordered 2 medium pizzas, and half size "uncle special" spaghetti with peppers and onions. I found it just the right size and still took some home. One pizza had a mix up (requested remove banana peppers on half because I'm the only ohioian that doesn't like them) they offered to remake, some confusion that it would come off the bill, but it didn't. But th3y brought it boxed to us so we got that pizza for free. I literally didn't care and picked off the offending banana peppers. Again, casual dining place. Large retiree crowd, it's a local family restaurant. No fuss place. Clean tables and bathrooms. A nice, not amazing Friday night dinner out.

After work I stopped in for the first time. I placed a carryout order for an Italian Sub and Italian Wedding Soup. My order was ready in less than 10 minutes. I started with the soup which I thought $4.50 for a small container was quite a high price. It had quite a bit of egg and spinach and 4 little meatballs. To me it was like eating Egg Drop Soup. The Italian sub was wrapped in paper then in foil. When I opened it, it was cold. The bread had sesame seeds on top which I thought was odd and the bread was not toasted. Maybe pizza would have been a better choice and will have to stop back in to try it.

From the time we walked in the door, a gentleman in the kitchen looked up and said greeted us. (There's a door so you can see into the kitchen from the foyer) I later learned it was Dave Pasqualone himself. We were promptly shown to our table and within a few minutes, a gentleman by the name of Chris introduced himself and told us what the specials for the evening were. Everything sounded great but my girlfriend picked the saccettini with the amatriciana sauce and I had the veal scalopini with a small side of saccettini. The meal was PERFECT! You could taste richness of the homemade saccettini stuffed with cheese. I was told that the pasta for the lasagna noodles are made on site which is used for the saccettini. The veal scallopini was so tender, I could cut it with a fork. Not too many capers, the right combination of butter, white wine and lemon. My girlfriend's amatriciana sauce (she was kind enough to give me a taste of two) had a little bit of a bite to it but not too much. It was mouth watering. We finished off the evening with a homemade cannoli which was superb. Towards the end of the evening, Dave came out into the dining room and personally greeted each table. We learned that Dave was the head chef at Monaco's Palace on Cleveland Ave many years ago. They always had wonderful food. To find this gem of a restaurant in Northeast Columbus, in a part of town where many restaurants come and go each month or year, is like finding a needle in a haystack. This quiet little Italian restaurant is tucked away in an unassuming strip mall that was incredibly popular in the 80's and 90's and has been churning out delicious homemade Italian dishes for over 20 years. We will definitely become regular patrons of this gem of a place. Thank you Dave, Chris and the other members of their staff to make a date night with my girlfriend a memorable experience.

This place is old school and I love it! Really impressed my friends lol. We picked the day before Thanksgiving to dine out with friends we hadn't seen in a while. This is a great place for a small group to sit and talk (and be heard) without being rushed. Restaurant was 60% full? Fantastic full premium bar, great wine list and helpful servers. Just top to bottom great food and service. From the menu, it seems like a limited selection of standard Italian fair. Order from the specials, they are chef recommended and always fantastic. Even the basic spaghetti + meatballs is great! Entres $30-50 which is really pretty reasonable. Just me but, I would love more vegetables on the menu as sides with my pasta. Most meals do come with soup or salad. Great for small group (less than 10) but not sure how many they would take honestly. You will get fantastic service, great food, in a nice quieter environment. Looking forward to going back in the new year!

SEVEN WORDS: Good, Mid-Level Italian / Gulf Shores Atmosphere / Bocce!…read more. Yes, I said "Gulf-Shores Atmosphere. This Mid-Size Family Restaurant and Pizza Pub offers an atmosphere that I*mmediately reminds me of Pensacola Beach near the Pier, St. Augstine Beachside, and some Carolina Family Resorts - although it's located in a staid, suburban location. . It did help that the weather was like being beachside on a Mach afternoon - just above 60 degrees with a light 3-5 mph wind. The Sun was out, the Cafe lights at the Bar just came on, and the Monday Night Bocce League was chucking wooden balls from one end of the arean to the other, all the while, gentle, non-sensical conversations were filling the air. 1970s Classic Rock softly filled the background noise. . But, we only came for Food - and always love a new place to eat. Since it was our first time, we ordered a Calamari Appetizer and two Standard Italian Entrees: I grabbed the Baked Ziti while my wife ordered the Fried Fish. . She's a little spoiled, being a Filipino: She is not a fan of Fish Sticks of Any kind - even if they were upscale and tasted fresh, as these did. So, we switched plates. .. I really enjoyed the Fish Fillets. The White Fish ?Cod? was fresh and not pasty, the breading was not cumbersome in any way, the oil was fresh - probably Vegetable - and I devoured it. It was quite a bit above average for Fried Fish, without being top-tier, like you'd find at a Lakeside Popup Stand at Buckeye Lake. The Fries were good, mild salt and still had slivers of skin on the fries. I still think they were pre-packaged, but they were done better than you'd ever manage at home, without going to extra measures. . My Wife's Ziti was very Good, too. It was more than she could eat - she was partially full before we sat down and the Soda + Calamari nearly filled her tummy. That was fine, we doggie bagged it and shared my fries and watched Bocce for about an hour. That was quite a bit of Fun - Especially on a Monday Night - without being loud and obnoxious - just pleasant, like enjoying GenXers and Boomers throw Wooden Balls back and forth and cheering casually and sharing company. . Our total Bill: Two Sodas, Calamari, Baked Ziti, Fish Fillet, came to a Total of $56. Somewhat Reasonable and we had leftovers (The Baked Ziti), which I devoured two days later. It was so much better after resting in the Fridge: like Fine Italian Cuisine more than Run-of-the_Mill Homemade Ziti. . It's not the best, but it's a place WE WILL RETURN to just to try out their pizza and sit inside and soak up the ambiance. A really fine place for 4-Star Italian - WITHOUT breaking the Bank.

The Polaris location is large and has a decent patio. The bar/lounge area is pretty big too, that's where we were sat when we came in for a weekend meal. Started with drinks and some apps. The cocktails were small and kind of meh. They only had 2 drafts, Stella & Peroni. I like both but it was strange that they had no other selections. The worst part was by far the food. Arancini - 6/10, nice crispy texture but the taste was a bit unexpected, like the added a bit too much Gorgonzola. Calamari - 7/10, a bit chewy but with a nice crisp, missing something fresh. Beef carpaccio - 2/10, Marcella's used to have an absolutely delicious carpaccio... this was a bit of an abomination. Beef slices too thick, crispy flatbread that broke up when I looked at it wrong, a white sauce on top that made the whole dish worse. Absolutely do not recommend. Dinner was a few pizzas 2/10 (read: precooked flatbreads with subpar toppings). The crispy potato "pizza" needs to be taken off the menu. Garlic sauce, cheese and these awful, overcooked potato chips. It was inedible - all 5 people at the table tried it but put their slice down after the first or second bite. Pizza Margherita DOC was a very salty, tomatoey thing. I think the grocery store version would be a better choice. We also shared the Pepperoni Sausage with mushrooms which was better, but it was undercooked and watery. Our friends got the Carbonara Pasta and said it was ok, but did not want to take their leftovers home. I don't get the hype or appeal of Marcella's whatsoever. Instead, it came with two small pieces of something unidentifiable and some American gorgonzola--very little blue cheese overall. The meats were overly fatty, and most of them were left on the board. I ordered the chicken giardiniera for my entrée, and it was a letdown. It was essentially a breaded schnitzel topped with chopped tomatoes, which completely ruined the breading. The cocktails were the highlight of the night--strong and well made. Unfortunately, the wine pricing was hard to justify. A bottle of Matua that retails for around $10 was priced at $40. Between the disappointing food and inflated prices, this isn't a place I'd return to.
