line out the door n a saturday morning! seattle has shown love for falesteen and its people by supporting this new-ish business run by two palestinean brothers. the ambiance, welcome and menu offerings are consistent what you would expect from a business that highlights the bounty of that area of the world and i'm more than happy to go out of my way to try this business, given how besieged the homeland is. i only had time to grab a to go beverage so i ordered a 12oz levantine latte which was flavorful but didn't deliver on the cardamom flavor i was hoping for. i had asked for it to be heavy on cardamom but despite the emphasis on that ingredient, it was still very good. all tables were occupied when i was there and people were ordering baked goods and sandwiches. the one drawback for those who don't live in the capitol hill neighborhood is the obvious parking challenge; today i lucked out but this would be a place that would be easier to access if you lived in the 'hood or were roaming around on foot. if i lived closer, i'd probably be here with regularity due to the menu options and the warm hospitality. i wish them well with the business and i hope that people continue to come out to support businesses that reflect the rich cultural diversity of our corner of the country and of the greater world! read more

My first time in after walking by a bunch. My partner got the tarimisu latte, I got the Levantine. The person working (manager) was so nice - wanted to learn our names, hear how we learned about the place, and gave us a free pistachio latte to try. All of the drinks were some of the best flavors I've had on the hill. Also, I know this location used to be a dimly lit Bauhaus that was always empty and cold. It was such a nice juxtaposition to have a bright coffee shop, with every seat taken, fully staffed. What a great addition to our neighborhood. I'll be returning to try everything. read more

Yikes. Mintish Coffee House is the definition of "Instagram over substance." and they must be buying Google reviews to make it seem hyped up. The coffee tastes like it was brewed with melted plastic bottle syrup, and somehow - somehow - four people behind the counter still manage to take fifteen minutes to make one drink. Fifteen. For something that tastes like regret and burned milk. The shop itself? Tiny. Hard chairs. Zero chill. You can't even sit with your friends unless your friend is imaginary (and even they might leave). Then there's the ordering process - picture a game of "telephone" gone terribly wrong. The barista can't hear names, spell names, or apparently recognize typical coffee drinks. After butchering your name, and your order, they sprint over to make your coffee... and, shocker, it's awful. No chatting and lovely owners like the Google Reviews make it seem - just a group of people that have no idea what they are doing. I got scorched milk and espresso sludge, a receipt with my name spelled incorrectly, and nowhere to sit to process the disappointment. I came to Yelp after seeing hundreds of 5-star reviews and a perfect ranking on Google. Hundreds of glowing ones over on Google Maps from "world travelers" who've reviewed random business all over the world, just enough to show 2-3 revies on their profile but they don't make any sense and are from nowhere Florida, then another in London, and apparently this shop. Somehow this random coffee shop that's been open for - checks notes - one month. Buying reviews is the only thing they're doing efficiently. Seattle, we can do better. Let's support the coffee spots that actually care about beans, not bots. read more

Palestinian owned and spectacular in their service, the quality of the food and drinks was also next level and the general feel in the space was so nice. Everyone I interacted with was so friendly! There was a bit of a line when I arrived, but the line moved efficiently and swiftly -- which gave me a chance to read the menu. I visited Seattle from WI to see some old friends and they told me we absolutely had to go here. I was stoked, I'm Iranian and the middle eastern food where I live isn't the best. Everyone was so kind and looking at the menu I was immediately at a 10/10 on the excitement scale. I ordered the date latte (fabulous) and the hummus avocado toast. I am not being dramatic when I said I was moved to tears by that toast. The pomegranate molasses and hummus, it felt like home in a bite. My friends were like...you good? And I tried explaining the best I could! It was just really special to feel such deep love and appreciation for the culture...it was also genuinely one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten. Thrilled to have this in Capitol Hill! Truly such a treat to be able to walk down the hill to a friendly, comforting, and familiar establishment. The three guys who started this lovely coffee shop are incredibly hospitable and kind and its clear they have put a lot of thought and effort into the menu and overall experience they offer. I had the Demasc latte and can happily confirm the orange blossom + cardamom combo is genius and was thoroughly enjoyed. I also had the grilled halloumi sandwich which was delicious and generously filled with that coveted, expensive, hard to find perfectly grilled halloumi along with fresh tomato and cucumber and the perfect olive tapenade to tie it all together. The labneh and avocado toast was fresh and light with the perfect drizzle of sweet balsamic glaze complimenting and balancing the tart labneh. The passionfruit mojito was really refreshing and delicious also. The atmosphere and details of the space are as tasteful as their menu items, featuring design elements and Arabic text as well as murals on the walls paying homage to our ancestral lands.
