My son and I went to grab a late bite to eat. We showed up about 30 -40 minutes prior to close. We had a great meal and did not feel rushed one bit. The sushi was fresh and delivered to our table quickly. This is a good spot when you are craving sushi. There are a few places around town that are very consistent with the quality and service.

Delicious food! Outstanding staff! Cozy and comfortable atmosphere! I've dined numerous times at this location of Mio Sushi. The staff is the most welcoming and warm group of people you'll ever find at a restaurant. You are greeted upon entering and service is quick and friendly. The sushi chefs are all terrific too! Food is always fresh and tasty here. They offer many options for vegetarians. Their miso soup is the best, full of flavor but not overly salty. Sushi is always well made and has great presentation. The menu is extensive with choices to please everyone. The dining room is stylish and comfortable. Take out is available and seems to be very popular. I highly recommend this location of Mio Sushi!

    Spicy salmon and unagi sushi

Hubs and I returned from a 2-week trip to Japan in September. Got a craving for Japanese food and decided to do Mio, one of our old standby's. Over the years, Mio became a little hit and miss. Tonight was a hit. We were greeted and seated within a minute! Drink orders taken and brought lickety split along with robust miso soup. Now you may ask how can miso soup be robust? Well, it was full of miso flavor! All miso soups are not created equal. Although the restaurant was full, it wasn't noisy. We started with the unagi and spicy salmon nigiri. Melty fresh! Came out almost the same time as our entrees (something we have had problems with in the past, not today!) I ordered the unagi donburi. Eight slices of unagi and two artfully cut slices of tamago came arranged on a bed of rice and shredded daikon, in a pretty lacquered box. Unagi was tender and had a light teriyaki-type sauce. Hubs ordered the Japanese chirashi bowl which reminded us of a beautiful one he had in a historical district n Tokyo. A spectacular arrangement of colorful and delicate sashimi. He loved it. Two servers refreshed our tea and water regularly. And we received a cheery goodbye from the sushi chefs. Four of them were hustling back there the entire time. At least six takeout orders were picked up during our visit. Clearly we have been missing a good time at Mio and will start coming back on the regular. Gochisosama deshita, Mio!

This sporadic mess of rapid indulgence is without question the absolute best dine in experience after 10pm I have had in my lifetime. This is on par with my late night experience at Hells Kitchen in Las Vegas with way more drinking there... sitting here and watching the Dash and Uber orders go out it's clear they prioritize quality especially during late night to a local market. It's fresh tobiko, it's yum, it's for you.

I have never had a bad meal or experience at any of the Mio locations. Sushi has always been good and fresh. Love me some Mio!

Bento Lunch Special with Veggie Tempura Roll, Yakisoba, fried tofu, rice and salad.

Good food. The fried tofu was exquisite. The miso soup isn't vegetarian friendly and they were attentive to verify with me before taking my order. They I couldn't understand what should I eat the rice with that comes in the bento box lunch. My friend also enjoyed his donburi bowl. The service is quick and polite in a casual setting. We visited them during lunch and picked the food from lunch menu. But they do offer an elaborate menu at all times of the day.

It wasn't super busy when my partner and I went. We were welcomed and seated immediately. The calamari was surprisingly light and it wasn't super chewy. I would definitely order this appetizer again! The wait didn't take long and the rolls were all amazing. The ahi was like a nice cleanser to the other more heavy-flavored rolls. The salmon so flavorful and the Mt Rainier was a good in between. We also got salmon and yellowtail nigiri. So juicy and tender, melted in our mouths. This is definitely a place we'll return to.

I'd like to start by saying th staff were all incredibly friendly. Smiles and kind voices all around. The sushi was okay. It wasn't what I was hoping for, but they give really good portions for the price. We ordered a good variety of things. Wife thought everything was great but I thought it was just good or okay. Our table was also incredibly sticky. They charged $1.50 for spicy mayo so be aware due to the sriracha shortage. The sake prices are also pretty high, so I wouldn't recommend that there. Overall okay experience. Probably won't go back, but I was on a date with my wife so can't go wrong there.

    Take out Miso Salmon!

Really good Japanese sushi teriyaki place. The salad that came with the meal was good. (Reminds me a little bit like Mr bento. Not quite as good though.) The miso soup tasted like every other miso soup I have had. Solid effort. At first bite I didn't love the miso salmon. After a bite or two I really liked it a lot more than my first impression. Very flavorful, tender, and perfectly cooked. I would get again. The Cali Roll was just about what you would expect. I liked it a lot. My only minor issue was not enough soy sauce to dip in. I will order extra next time. The ginger was good too if you like it like I do.

The owner is a (I think) a Japanese fellow and I believe everyone who works here is family. There's often a young girl at the counter who I suppose is his grand daughter. She is very sweet and very bubbly. You walk in and get a big smile and an enthusiastic hello. I only go now an then but she treats me like I am a regular she sees every day. I go up to the counter and she knows what I order... always chicken teriyaki. I don't have to say a thing. She rings me up and a few minutes later I have a hot, tasty meal in front of me. There are a few "rice bowl" type businesses in Cedar Mill and they are all good. But Kokos is the best! I'd encourage my fellow Yelpers to check them out if they haven't already. The prices are very fair especially for what you get. A filling, tasty, healthy meal. I don't know if they do this for everyone but the owner is always there and sometimes works the counter. He gives me the veterans discount which knocks a little off the usual, already low price. Plus I get double the meat so now it's a very inexpensive lunch in a container that is just packed with food. Hence the reason for this review refresh. I don't think they make much of a profit and being in the mall I'm sure their overhead is high. The folks there work very hard and likely don't get paid much. Dunno if they are native Americans or immigrants but they are living the American dream. I'm sure one day all that hard work will pay off and they will be very successful. But given how nice they are to me I'm sure they lose money every time I show up for lunch. So I very much appreciate their kindness and generosity. They don't make much money but they generate a lot of goodwill.... wanted to pay it forward in some small way by posting this glowing and well deserved five star review. I hope Kokos will be here for a long time. It's one of the few restaurants I can still afford to patronize. A nice meal that someone else cooks for me has become a rare treat in my life. So THANKS!

It's located in the Timberland Town Center and manages to perfectly balance a modern, trendy vibe with authentic, traditional flavors. Here is why it's a 5-star standout for me: The Broth (The Soul of the Bowl): I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen, and the broth was incredible--creamy, rich, and clearly simmered for hours. It has that deep, milky consistency that only comes from true craft. If you like heat, the Spicy Miso has a perfect, layered kick that doesn't just overpower your taste buds. The Noodles: They get the texture exactly right. You can choose your firmness, and they have that perfect "chew" that holds onto the broth beautifully. The "Bites": True to their name, the appetizers (bites) are not to be skipped. The Pork Gyoza are perfectly seared, but the Karaage (Japanese Fried Chicken) is the real winner--juicy on the inside and impossibly crunchy on the outside. The Chashu: The braised pork belly is melt-in-your-mouth tender. They give it a quick torch sear before serving, which adds a beautiful smoky aroma to the whole bowl. The Vibe: The restaurant is clean, sleek, and has a great energy. The staff is welcoming and incredibly fast, making it a perfect spot for a quick lunch or a cozy dinner. Pro Tip: Don't forget to add a Marinated Soft-Boiled Egg (Ajitama). They cook them to perfection here with that jammy, custard-like yolk that takes the ramen to the next level. Beaverton has a lot of food options, but Koku is easily at the top of my list for comfort food. I'll be back again and again!
