Hubby surprise me visit to Miopane. Tiramisu croissant super flaky, not overally sweet. Cranberry cream cheese bagel fully loaded with cranberry, a little on sweet side on cranberry. Definitely be back to try peach cream cheese with rosemary croissant. Recommended come after lunch -line move faster. $7 to $10 per item pricier price but you pay for quality. There was a line outside Sunday at 9:30, but it moved pretty fast. I didn't realize they had such a wide variety of pastries, it wasn't just bagels. I really enjoyed the maple glazed green onion croissant. It was perfectly crispy, not sure if some sesame oil was used. It only had a touch of sweetness with paired well with the green onion. A little bit of black pepper as well. Beautifully executed croissant. I also got the black sesame bagel. I didn't realize it was filled with cream cheese and black sesame paste! Visited on a Tuesday at 11am and the line was out the door. With the wait being this long it was especially infuriating to see a lady barge into the store, walk up to the counter, start recording on her phone, and immediately get helped by a staff. Keep in mind, there was a nice staff member greeting everyone by the door who saw this happen but did not say anything to her about cutting the line. I just thought this was unfair to everyone else who was waiting outside in the sun. Ahhh the very much hyped bakery from Taiwan. Seems like not everyone shares my opinion as I love it a lot. Yes the lines appear to still be here, I waited maybe 30-45 mins on a Friday around 11am. Parking isn't the best since it's meters nearby or maybe you are walking over here from the old town Pasadena area and parked at one of those lots. There is free parking about two blocks north along chestnut street if you don't mind a bit of a walk. Once inside the smell of the bakery takes over. It's very pleasant. The place itself is not too big so coming here when it's crowded can feel a bit cramped. The available pastries are on display behind a glass wall and you can choose from available options only, despite them having numerous varieties. It does, at least for the time being, feels like you have to get lucky if you want a particular pastry. I ended up with bagels chocolate hazelnut, double cheese and burnt onion. I really like them all with a slight edge to savory ones despite having a sweet tooth. I also was able to get a chocolate croissant and the green onion maple one. I liked them both but still enjoyed the savory green onion one more. Can't wait to be back and in line to try more! read more

The garlic cream cheese bagel was honestly quite bad. I could see this being better if the garlic was toasted but for raw garlic there was far too much. It was quite strange in all honesty and unappetizing even for two garlic lovers. My girlfriend got a bagel with tomato and pesto that was actually very good, but didn't make up for everything else. The bagels are the stars here so you must try as many as your wallet allows. Not inexpensive but then again, the quality and taste is spot on. Sadly after driving 30 min, then waiting in line for an hour, they only had two different buns left; sweet milk and a cheese one. When waiting in line, one of the workers came out and said that they would have the blueberry danish out in 40 min. So by the time I got in it was already another 30 min. When I finished ordering one sweet milk bun (that honestly wasn't what I came for) (12:50pm) the blueberry danish came out and I asked if I could buy one, they said no. Even when I explained to them I've been waiting for an hour and drove thirty minutes, they still refused. Instead they said I would have to wait until the next line starts which was at 1:30pm. Definitely disappointed and would give them zero stars if I could. When I tried the sweet milk bun, it is like our normal Asian pineapple bun, however,interestingly enough, the bun taste like pizza dough. Definitely not the healthiest, but also definitely not worth the one and a half hours!!! They definitely need to figure out a better system. What a nice addition to Pasadena. I saw an employee brought out water and treat for a dog that was waiting in line with a customer. They also handed out little paper umbrellas so the customers could wait in line under some shade. The bagels taste super fresh and tasty. I also had a hot hojicha, that was so delicious. I would say it's worth the wait, going with a group of friends would definitely make it more fun waiting.
