The parking situation is pretty tight, but if you get there at the right time you'll find a spot in their underground parking area. It's an easy walk up to the bagel shop from there. They have ample seating outdoors. The indoor seating is first come first take and it looks like it's usually crowded. So if you come with someone have one of you order and the other snag a table inside for that air conditioned experience especially since it's still 95 degree weather days right now. THE FOOD!! Came to try out Calic Bagel cause I heard good things and felt like I needed more garlic in my life. It seems like a popular spot in Ktown-ish that is known for their stuffed bagels. Its a pretty casual spot where you order at a counter or kiosk and then pick up your food when its ready. As I no longer live in LA, I, of course, had to order like 4 bagels to try. We got the signature calic, elote calic, potato bacon calic, and the bacon scallion. My eyes are always bigger than my stomach and ultimately, I just wanted a taste of them all. Sadly, I found the bagels to be a bit lackluster for the price. The garlic flavor is prominent but, as with a lot of Korean foods, there was just too much sweet for my personal tastes. I should also just recognize that bagels aren't really my thing and despite it being appealing to look at, they didn't really hit home for me. They're quite pricey at close to $10 a bagel and while filling, don't seem to have much substance (its essentially a bagel and flavored cream cheese). Back to trying some more bagels at my fave bagel spot. So let's see if they're pretty good eh or ew. This time I got their jalapeño bagel, classic garlic bagel, and limited time toomba stuffed bagel to try. The jalapeño bagel was topped with plenty of cheesy cheddar cheese and spicy jalapeños and had that classic pillowy, fluffy, full, chewy, interior and crisp exterior that I love. The garlic bagel was STUFFED with rich, creamy cream cheese and packed full of garlicky flaves. If they added real roasted garlic chunks in it it would've taken it to the next level. The toomba bagel was again full of that rich savory cream cheese and was a bit spicy and had some extra cheesy flaves. The fried ramen topping added a nice extra crunch and textural contrast too. The service was pretty quick and efficient, the place is well organized. The store is really cute and has some merch as well as some exotic snacks and sauces. The bagels are great. I have only tried the original Calic ones with the dip on them and I've liked them all. They are not very expensive and they do get you full. I love the garlic calic, it's slightly sweet and garlic is not too overpowering. The habanero is also a favorite and we tried the potato one this time around, I'm not the biggest fan of the potato but not bad. Went here with my kids after a hike since we've been hearing so much about it. My mom lives nearby, so we made a day out of it. We tried the Chevy's Pollowich (chicken pesto sandwich) and a Potato Bacon Calic (their stuffed bagel), and their Signature Garlic plus a couple of drinks. We came just in time before the long line! The parking isn't great so be mindful of the garage but the staff was kind and the line moved quickly! The coffee wasn't anything too special if anything it didn't really wake me up. Interested in trying the matcha next time.
