This is one of the places that you kind of drive by without noticing or that you see in passing and wonder what might be inside when you see the numerous rows of canvas covered booths out front. Well step inside and you will find the sweet little café and bakery that is Mirabelle's. This is somewhat of a coffee shop, bakery, and café all rolled into one. There is a full service menu with a variety breakfast and lunch options to choose from including egg, waffle, and crepe dishes, as well as Monte Cristo, BLT, and other club style sandwiches, along with a good selection of sides and beverages. I've had the spinach and turkey crepe, eggs Florentine, grilled ham and cheese, with hash browns and bacon sides and everything has been delicious. Inside there are a number of tables to sit down and order from one of the servers while observing all of the baked goodies that are tempting you through the glass cases along the café interior. There are dozens of varieties of cakes that can be ordered by the slice and orders can be placed for whole cakes as well for weddings, birthdays, or other special events. You can see some of the cakes displayed on the shelves and they look spectacular with a lot of attention to detail and design. There is also a large variety of cookies, fruit and cheese Danishes, and croissants that are available as well. Try a savory stuffed croissant filled with cheese and either ham or turkey, or a sweet croissant filled with marzipan or chocolate (these sell out every day so come earlier if you can). Outside you will find rows of uniquely designed solid wood gliding tables. Yes, the entire table, along with its benches, glides back and forth along a track like a rocking chair for a group of friends or family. It's a great place to sit and have a cup of coffee in the morning or enjoy a meal and all of the tables are covered to provide shade from the sun. There is also an assortment of board games on the outside patio that you can take and enjoy a game while you're enjoying your food or beverage. The service is quick once your order is placed and if you sit inside you are likely to be served faster than on the patio. Sometimes it seems as if the staff is too short or too busy to check on people outside even when it seems fairly slow, so they won't always make it out there to you right away and I've had to walk inside for a coffee refill on several occasions. I get the impression that they seem to be somewhat overwhelmed or disorganized with running the counter, register, and serving tables, which is odd when the place is never really that busy. If you would like to sit on the patio I would recommend walking inside first and letting a server know, or placing your order at the counter prior to going to your table on the patio, then you will be assured that your server knows you are out there and you won't be waiting longer for your meal. I frequently just grab a coffee and stuffed croissant from the counter inside and just walk it out to the patio myself which is fine by me, but it's nice to have someone check on you from time to time and offer a refill. So, I grew up in Fair Oaks and LOVE MY CITY!!! With that being said, anyone who knows me knows that I am the last minute type of person and since my Mom had been harping about me to visit Mirabelle café sometime I figured I would come in to see what sort of deliciousness I could find for my 30th birthday party. At first I walk in and I was pleasantly surprised with how beautiful this place is ... clean and cute ... then I get to the display cabinet and I was like the fattest kid in the candy store. Everything LOOKED AMAZING! I look at the guy behind the counter and a nice surprise, it was a guy I went to junior high and high school with. After a nice hug and a catch up on our lives over the past 5 or so years (since I had seen him last) I explain to him my laziness on planning anything and my dilemma I had created when I realized I needed a cake for my day. He went on to explain what Mirabelle had to offer and I decided on a 10" round fruit basket cake. Normally I would get some chocolate but oddly enough, the past year or so I have turned not so selfish and actually thought of others that would be at my dinner party. He told me they were closing soon and that it was almost a 90 percent chance their bakers would be able to fulfill this order, but just in case this cute gal Inna said that she would call me in the morning because she would be in early preparing for a cake tasting. I wondered where my invite to such tasting was, but nonetheless, I was looking forward to the call. My boyfriend was so cute, he got a few pieces of their cakes from the display case to go (we had to try something, DUH!) and not kidding, my boyfriend said the german chocolate cake he got was the best piece of cake he has ever had. He even said that his sister and him have discussions about german chococlate cake whenever they are in such presence of the delicacy. So I know his opinion is valid. That and he is the pickiest eater I know. So it had to be good. Next morning, day of my birthday, I did receive a call around 8 am ... but no voicemail. I looked up the number when I woke up (around 4 hours later, bartender time baby, get over it) and sure enough it was Mirabelle's number, so I called back. Inna answered the phone, I told her who I was and inquired about the cake. She put me on hold and told me that it would be ready by 4. JEAH BUDDY! My boyfriend and I picked up this beautiful beast and we enjoyed it after my dinner party and a little bit more when we got home. Not only did this place go above and beyond what I expected, but the cake was worth every penny of the $42 bucks I spent on it. I will be back and I will recommend this hidden gem to anyone. If there is any time in the near future that I will need such yummies in my tummy I will definitely visit Mirabelle's first. Walking in, there is plenty of outdoor seating and very nice looking. It was an overcast, wet day. Outdoor seating was out of the question. We stood around about 10 minutes waiting to be seated or even acknowledged by staff. Even took that opportunity to check out the delicious looking pastries to take home. Not even a "hello" from any of the five different employees that walked past us or behind the counter. Stood around some more to be seated and a group of middle-aged women walked in and sat IMMEDIATELY. So my husband asked if it was "seat yourself" since no one had spoken to us. Nope. Those women should have waited and we should have been seated. "There's nothing we can do for you." Sure there is. You can explain how this establishment works and allow us to sit. So we left. I gave it two stars just because Its really the only good place I can eat outside on a Sunday morning. I'm really bummed about the quality of service we receive every time at this place because they really do have a great outdoor set up and good food. That is pretty much the only reason we come back. Not enough servers to accommodate the Sunday morning rush! This happens every time we come. We sat down and it took the server 15 minutes to greet us. I had to walk in and grab menus and request waters because it was hot out. It then took another 15 minutes to get the drinks. I had to walk back in asking if she forgot and instead of the "I'm sorry for the wait...it's coming" her response was "I'm bringing them out now" two minutes later Iced Tea with no sugar. Two servers for the whole inside and outside patio. Food is good but has always been a little bit overpriced in my eyes. You know your getting fat when your car smells like a bakery and you've had a different variety of cake every day for the last 5 days... It is day 5 of a month long birthday celebration. My friend chose Mirabelle's to help celebrate the end of the first 1/6 of the month long celebration. It is a pleasure to enjoy something from here at least 3-4 times a year for the last several years. This is probably the first time we've set foot in the establishment since our friends and families have always been the designated delivery service for such tasks. Unfortunately distance and a vast variety of options in Sacramento has led me astray. The pastries and cakes are always in good taste. One can not help but horde a large serving for one's self. I ended up eating an insane serving of strawberry cake despite having already stuffed myself like a Thanksgiving turkey. It took 45 minutes for a menu. That should be the end of this revue because I was pretty annoyed and I wanted to leave, but my Freind was hopeful the food would be good and so we stayed. Then, we Had to flag someone down to make the order. Annoyed again. So far there has been no "sorry about that". That morning I drank 3 cups of coffee, that would be nice to have gotten topped off but I would sit there w an empty cup for about 5 minutes and give up, so both of those refills I got I had to go inside to the counter to get. They also did not bring cream I asked for twice and the third time, they gave it to me in a Dixie cup!! We never got a water refills either and There was several girls working. The place wasn't even a 1/4 full I'd hate to see the service if it was a full house! I also found it odd that They brought a shaker of pepper after breakfast was served but no salt shaker. But to add salt to the would, as we finished eating my freind finds a hair UNDER some of the fruit in his cup. That means after he ate some pieces. He pushes his plate aside and he says to me "So when I first got my food there was a hair in it but I didn't want to make a big deal so I just set it aside and ate, but now this hair was UNDER the fruit so it had to have come from wherever they dished this food." So that means two hairs in one persons food! And incase you might wonder, he is bald! Even besides the hairs I would NEVER go back here even if someone offered to pay. We checked our text messages from the time I arrived to meet him to the time we finished eating, and it was 5 minutes short of two hours, and we left as soon as we finished eating. No "camping out" it was mostly all waiting. We are Extremely disappointed in the service. Makes me wonder how they are still in business, especially enough business to have such a great looking place with great looking desserts and the uniquely made outdoor seating. Mirabelle is a hidden GEM! You would never know this place existed. It's located next to a really sketch car wash and gas station. Like, really? YES. A gas station. Once you walk into this place you totally forget where you are. To put it simple, Mirabelle is an oasis. It has a great outdoor patio that is covered in really cute umbrellas and lots of plants. It's a whimsical garden that makes you never want to leave. THEIR TABLES THOUGH. Omg the little kid in me came out. They have a wide variety of tables that fit 2 people and some that fit up to 6 people. THEY ARE SWINGING TABLES. Why is this not a thing everywhere?! You can enjoy a crafted latte and delectable cake whilst swinging. I know this sounds very odd but let me tell you... it is the most unique and amazing aspect I have ever seen at a restaurant/cafe. Also, if you try these tables and don't really care for them, there is normal patio seating and seating inside. The desserts. WOW. They have a huge display of different cakes, cookies, eclairs and macaroons. I have been here several times and have tasted something different each time. I have never been disappointed -- EVER. Each cake is unique in its own way and is beautifully crafted by hand. The colors, the love and thought that was put into every cake is completely mind blowing. My family and I love this place so much that my cousin ordered her wedding cake here and mini replica cakes for each guest. They have a lot of specialty cakes and so they really put a lot of detail into each and every one. They have a full lunch menu and a lot of people come into Mirabelle for a bite but sadly I have not yet. I usually come here to relax and sneak away from reality --which means stuffing my face with a piece cake in silence. They have different coffee options that are placed in huge coffee mugs. I recommend lattes if you want to sip slowly and relax. The service here is always great. There is usually one or two people at the front helping. I've never had an issue when I've come in where it's been too busy or overcrowded. I always ask a ton of questions about each cake I'm interested in because I like to try something new every time I come in. The staff is very helpful, smiley and more than willing to help. Mirabelle is the place for any occasion! I've come here alone to study, I've met a friend here for an afternoon catch up, I've taken visiting family here, I've taken my grandma here for some quality bonding. Mirabelle cafe is such a cute little tiny place that I wanted to like it right when I walked in.. but the service is SO HORRIBLE and their food was just average that I believed it didn't deserve 5 stars.. As my mother and I walked in.. we just stood there because we had no idea where to go.. and no one came up to us.. as I was scrambling down the list of yelp reviews on my phone I saw cash registers so I started to walk over there when one of the workers began to talk to the group behind us and asked them how many people were in their party. The waiter told them that they had one table left for four.. but thankfully that party had 5 people so he gave the table to me and my mom (understandable yet sort of rude). The same guy that gave us our table gave us menus and water.. and then ran off somewhere else and never came back lol.. We waiter probably around 20 minutes until I stopped him again, where he proceeded to say that our table wasn't his but that he will gladly take our order, which he did. We eventually got our food, the vegetable omelette (where we omitted the feta cheese) and the create your own crepe (we got eggs, mushrooms, and bell peppers in ours). I know I can not judge our vegetable omelette because maybe that feta cheese would have made a huge difference, but without it, it was so flavorless and I felt like the vegetables were from a frozen package. The crepe was a lot better and had much more flavor, however, I kind of wished that the crepe would have been a little thinner. The potatoes that came with our meals were very good, but if you are trying to lose weight, I think you should avoid these! The staff is so friendly and genuine that they alone keep us coming back. We love the breakfast potatoes and the late night treats! Bring on the hole in the wall please! That being said... If "deeply rich" in taste is your thing, if you love crepes, if your soul weeps for heavenly desserts, then this place will float your boat even though it really doesn't float mine. I've always had good service here. The atmosphere is cozy and classy. I've heard that the coffee is great, but I don't drink coffee, so what good does that do me? That's right... none. In my opinion the food is overpriced, but hey there are lots of people out here who like that sort of thing so please, enjoy it. The breakfasts and brunch is always good, but for me - never quite enough. So if you like this kinda place, then I'm sure it's worth the drive to it's very odd location in Fair Oaks. I thought the food was very tasty but the prices are very high. I took my 4 kids out to breakfast and the tab was over $60 without tip. I would go 5 star if the prices were lower. The food is also not your typical fair, the portions are small and the quality is very high and expensive. I had a custom crepe and for 13 dollars you would think that it would be a decent size. I could have had 2. If my daughter was with me the portion is spot on but for a large boy or a man you are going to have to order an additional item. Luckily my younger son 7 years did not finish his breakfast so I finished it for him. The service is great and the atmosphere is very comfortable. I like Mirabelle's because the cakes are good. My favorite cake is the red velvet cake because it's creamy and it's pretty. The coffee is good. It is an interesting location in the middle of a neighborhood. On one side you have houses and on the other side you have a carwash. I like looking at the display cakes. Was looking for a place to have a nice relaxing Sunday morning breakfast. It has been a couple of years since we last tried Mirabelle we thought we would give it another chance. Mistake! The restaurant was busy, thought that was a good sign. We walked inside and found about 8 empty tables, all still needed to be cleaned from the last guest. We looked out front at the outdoor area and there were 4 empty tables, one of which looked clean so we sat down. We then noticed it had not been cleaned, just the dirty dishes removed. The white butcher paper that is put down still had jam from the last diner. The waitress arrived and without saying good morning or hello spoke just one word..."ready?". No, let us look at a menu first please. We ordered a breakfast crepe to share and I had coffee, the wife just had water. The best thing I can say about the entire meal was the coffee was very good. About 25 minutes late the crepe came cut in half on two plates...a little crepe about the size of a slice of pie on a plate...period. No garnish, no toast...nothing. A little strawberry on the side or even a piece of parsley to look at would have been a welcome touch. The crepe was cold and the handful of pre-shredded cheese on the inside was not melted in the slightest. Very unsatisfying. We went inside to wash up to leave and saw a beautiful display of pastries and decided to try one to go. We chose a raspberry caramel cake. We tried this about 20 minutes later in the car as we were driving..no flavor. We each took one bite and threw the rest away. What a cute outside area for breakfast! We came here with my boyfriend to have breakfast with friends and loved it. The outside area has rocking booths, which are cute. I ordered the Nutella crepe and strawberries, which was delicious. My boyfriend ordered the salmon eggs Benedict and loved it. In fact, it was one of the best he has ever had. Others ordered other breakfast foods and loved it as well. The staff was friendly, but the only thing they should work on is time. It kind of takes pretty long to get your order, and I know that bothers some people. We were involved in our conversations so it was fine. Definitely will be returning. read more

What a wondeful place. Quaint, clean interiors with white table clothes. A small but fine choice of brunch (weekends) items. They have a seperate menu for during the week breakfast, lunches and dinners. So I will be back for sure! Also, a large selection of individual pasteries for late night coffee and desserts. My only suggestion for improvements is for their outside buliding. (Which is a bit too plain.) Other than that... IT'S EXCELLENT! I had been meaning to visit this amazing cafe for a long time after it opened and when it finally did I was not disappointed. They have just about any kind of bakery item you could imagine. When you walk in there is a very large display of pastries. All of them are small but they range from chocolate moose to baklava to tiny individual pieces of strawberry shortcake. For someone who loves sweets it is a feast for the eyes. They sell breakfast, lunch and dinner and have a pretty large menu to decide from. It has a very comfortable atmosphere inside, it has always been very clean and the staff is always nice. I HIGHLY recommend! The only downside is that it is located in a somewhat residential area... not where you would expect a cafe to pop up so it does not get as much business as it would if it were located downtown. read more

He started pointing and barking at the owner, chastised him for not having larger to-go boxes, and pretty much made himself look like an a**hole. Merry Christmas, d-bag! The best thing about Mirabelle's is the freshness and the quality of the food. The unique menu gives Carmichael/Fair Oaks a taste of cuisine not normally served up in a suburban lifestyle. One star (rather than 0) is appropriate because 1) the food itself was good, and 2) the kitchen staff--particularly a woman with long brown hair (I didn't get her name!) was awesome and absolutely working their tails off. The rest of my negative review involves the TERRIBLE, RIDICULOUSLY SLOW SERVICE. Because of that alone, we'll never come back. I called on a Friday morning at 8am to ask if they could accommodate a group of nine of us at 10am. They said yes. So we show up at 10am, and not only is there no table ready for us--they don't seem particularly concerned about getting one ready. We stand awkwardly waiting in the entry for 15 minutes, and still nothing. At that point, the rest of our group has arrived and I'm getting seriously irritated because there are only four other tables occupied in the entire restaurant and the wait didn't make any sense. So 1) WE MOVED TABLES AROUND to accommodate our group and sat our own party, and 2) WE WENT UP TO THE COUNTER AND GOT MENUS so we could at least sit down. There were two young women "waiting tables" and neither batted an eye. At this point, we'd been there 25 minutes and still hadn't received ANY service from the staff--WHEN THE RESTAURANT WAS PRACTICALLY EMPTY. (At this point, the only reason we didn't leave was that it'd be difficult to find a place to accommodate 9 without a reservation...) We then sat for about 20 minutes before they came and even took drink orders (which they managed to screw up repeatedly--e.g., didn't bring the correct number of sodas, failed to bring any of the requested waters, brought drinks no one had ordered (which, when we offered to take them anyway rather than having them thrown out, they refused and opted to throw them out)). When they finally took our orders--by which time we'd already been there an hour--more ridiculousness ensued: 1) we were told they were "out of fruit" when we requested a separate side of fruit (but subsequently multiple meals were served with sides of fruit); 2) the waitress literally came back to clarify orders 5 separate times; and 3) when we said we didn't have silverware, she asked us to count ourselves how many we needed (answer: all of us that you're looking at). To add insult to injury, the waitresses were surly and unhelpful rather than apologetic and helpful. The food itself was good, and the female cook was awesome--she was the only one bustling and SHE came out to serve our food, get our missing drinks, provide missing silverware and requested condiments that the waitresses had never brought. SHE was fantastic. The waitresses were an abomination. Read the other reviews of this place--these aren't new issues. Clearly the ownership doesn't care or they'd have taken steps to fix the service. Stopped in at 3 in the afternoon to find the place totally empty; at that point we weren't sure they were even open, but they were. I chose a strawberry white chocolate cake, and my company got a round chocolate on chocolate cake. They were good, my cake was a bit dry on the outer sides, the girl left the plastic wrapping ON the cake and put it on the plate... You obviously understand the cake is being eaten ON the plate here, it's much easier for you to take it off than for me to have to flop over my cake, make a mess, then leave the plastic film on your nice table. The white top (fondant?) pretty much slid off the cake... It got stuck to the bottom of my fork and I had to scrape it back onto my plate so I could smush it back together with each bite of cake. My item had good flavor ...and the place is pretty cute, but I generally got a standoff-ish "I don't really want to be here" attitude from the two gals in the store. Nothing too special, the cakes on display were kind of messily done up for display cakes, the edges weren't straight and stuff was kind of not clean-cut looking. More like 2.5 stars. I want to love this place. For one thing it is cute and the desserts are pretty. BUT.... The desserts are good but not great. Solid but not transcendental. Like it just needs more attention to detail. We have gone here for dinner and husband ordered their famous burger and Kennebec fries. I ordered the beef and cheese crepe. We shared the beet salad with oranges and chevre. Maybe they were short staffed in the kitchen and floor that day because it took almost 25 minutes for our food to arrive and the fries were "warmish" The salad was good but again attention to detail was not there. The oranges in the salad were sectioned to where the pith and core were present. I couldn't understand why they didn't just cut the oranges horizontal or vertical. Don't order the "baklava" cause it is not layers of fillo with nuts and cinnamon covered with honey syrup. It is chopped nuts layered between 2 sheets of puff pastry. Not the same. If you are in the area and close by then go, but I wouldn't make a trip to go there from a distance away. read more

Excellent desserts. Just like the ones in Paris France Quality and freshness all there.

Absolutely disgusting. The women's restroom was locked because "there was a problem". The men's room was filthy. The toilet was running so it wouldn't flush. Someone had explosive diarrhea all over it and there was no soap. We had already ordered food so we went outside to eat. The owner was smoking on the patio, stinking up the place. Our water was delivered to the table in dirty glasses, grease film on the surface and what looked like icing on the inside of the glasses. . read more

Mirabelle made my wedding cake (I posted the picture on yelp) and not only did I love it, but all my guests did too! We served three types of cake at my wedding (Raspberry Mousse, Mango and some Chocolate Flavor they recommended) and all the guests raved how amazing the cakes were. Since weddings are usually very expensive, they were able to keep the costs down and keep the quality up, which is why my family continues to go back to them for all our special occasion cakes. I have been here a handful of times and have never been disappointed. Their service is absolutely AMAZING and sets them aside from everyone else for just that alone. The first time I came here was late at night after they were unknowingly already closed but they still served us happily and gave us such VIP treatment which totally won us over and made us want to go back for more when they were open and we had more time. The outside seating is also very cute and comfy and super romantic in the evenings. I have tried a few breakfast plates from them and the flavors and variety are really good. The pancakes are definitely my all time fave! Their pastries are really good too, not too sweet and good portion sizes. You can tell they have that home made quality to them which is really nice. read more
