There was lots of parking right in front of the restaurant that made getting inside super convenient. There was plenty of room for us to sit at a large table with our babies in high chairs & strollers nearby. Inside the cafe is decorated very nicely. The staff were so kind and welcoming too. I ordered a mocha and the sweet cheese crepes. My mocha was the perfect balance of sweetness and chocolatey! I savored every sip. The real star of the show though, were the crepes. They were perfectly soft but with a slight crisp on the outside just like I like them. The filling was sweet but not overly and was well balanced with the slight bitterness from the berry topping on the crepes. Overall the ambiance, food, and accessibility make this a great spot for brunch! Will definitely be coming back.

I started with a regular latte, while my cousin ordered a chai latte. My latte was beautiful and served in a very original, deep, low cup that I absolutely loved. It was delicious and just perfect. Unfortunately, the chai latte wasn't really to our liking. It didn't taste much like chai to us--it had a strong cinnamon flavor and a combination of flavors that made it difficult to tell exactly what we were drinking. So, the chai was definitely not our favorite. For breakfast, I ordered what I would call their breakfast sampler, with eggs, bacon, and hash browns, which also came with a portion of French toast. My cousin ordered their Monte Cristo sandwich. My eggs and hash browns were amazing, and there was plenty of bacon! I chose all bacon, and it was thick-cut, smoky, and cooked to perfection. The plates here are HUGE, and the portions are definitely abundant. My cousin's Monte Cristo was their lighter take on the classic. Instead of being deep-fried, their version is dipped in batter and cooked, which makes it a little less heavy. It looked beautiful and had plenty of ingredients inside, but for us, it was just okay. We've definitely had better Monte Cristo sandwiches. Now, the French toast... WOW. This was easily my favorite part of the meal. The bread had this delicious cinnamon-sugar coating on top that took it to another level. Add the soft, fluffy butter and maple syrup, and it was absolutely superb. That French toast alone would bring me back! I also appreciated the nice, cold ice water that was kept at our table throughout the meal. Service was super nice and pretty quick, especially considering how busy they were. I also loved how many options they give you to customize your meal. I could choose between different types of bacon, sausage, or turkey, and my cousin was able to customize her sandwich and ended up choosing cottage cheese to go with a healthier, higher-protein option. They also have sweet potato fries, regular fries, and plenty of other sides that you can substitute depending on what you're looking for. The ambiance was great, everything was clean and well maintained, and even the bathrooms were in good condition. Overall, this was a very good breakfast experience. Not everything was a home run for us, but the service, atmosphere, generous portions, customization options, and especially that French toast made it a place I'd definitely recommend if you're in the area. And after a hike? Even better!

I could tell that it had hardly been cooked at all. The coffee was OK, and the fruit was very good and very fresh. The fruit, and the politeness of everybody saved this from being a two star review. Again, the price was reasonable, and they do offer the military/veterans discount, but the breakfast just wasn't as good this time. I don't think I will be back again. There's plenty of other places that I can go to. Thanks anyway.

I took my wife and four kids to this restaurant, kind of excited because it had some good reviews online. But as soon as we got in, we saw a big group leaving and only a few other tables occupied, which should have been our first clue. Right off the bat, things didn't look good. The place was kind of messy. Another bad sign was that the people at the other tables were still waiting for their food. Also, there were only two people taking care of the front, and the waitress who took our order struggled with English. We had to point at the menu items so she could write them down. She didn't get it when I asked for my steak and eggs medium rare, and she was confused when I wanted a to-go cup with a lid and straw for my toddler. Things got even more disappointing when my wife asked for lemon for her tea. They gave her a lemon that was brown and obviously expired. I also noticed the lock in the men's bathroom was broken, which was another letdown. Considering the good reviews we had seen, we were really surprised by how everything was turning out. We hoped the food would make up for the poor service, but no luck there. Our order was messed up, just like we thought it would be. The food was bad. My wife's pancakes were too salty, my steak was overcooked, the potatoes and my kids' sausages were burnt. We ordered two sides of sausages but only got one, and it was so burnt we didn't even want the second one. My daughter hated her crepe. They forgot my bacon, and when it finally came, it was cold and crunchy, like it was precooked and just handed to us. When it was time to pay, I had to go up to the register. The waitress just told me the total was $90, and I had to ask for the receipt to make sure we weren't charged for the extra sausage we didn't get. I left a $10 tip on a $90 bill, which felt generous given how bad everything was. We're definitely not coming back. read more

The whole experience at Mirabelle's is awesome, from the swinging bench seats outside, the staff and most importantly the FOOD! Our little family stops in for breakfast most of the time but we have also had lunch there enough times to know that all of their menu items are impressive. Gerry always makes our little guys dinosaur or Mickey mouse pancakes which is such a treat and they always ask when we will be going back to Gerry's restaurant. The baked goods and cakes are incredible. We always get a cake from Mirabelle's if we are having a party or a large family dinner. They also have individual slices available which my wife loves. If you haven't been, you don't know what you are missing out on. Best items: eggs Benedict, smoked salmon Benedict, French toast (bread is a fresh croissant AMAZING!) breakfast sandwich, and BREAKFAST CREPES! there is a open face steak lunch sandwich that you will dream about, all of the cake slices are bomb, everything on the menu is fantastic. Awful slow service and food. Way over priced! Their menu states that you get an option of soup, salad, potatoes, or fruit. I don't like melon and I wasn't in the mood for potatoes, so I opted for the salad (even though it was breakfast). A different server came out with our food. Mine came with fruit. When I explained I ordered the salad she said that my order doesn't come with that. Then, our original server came to our table and the two were bickering back and forth as to why I should or shouldn't be able to order the salad. At this point, we should have just left. The steak crepe and latte were also disgusting. The latte must have been sitting for a while before we got it because the whip cream had completely melted and was dripping on all sides of the glass. At least wipe the glass before handing it to us. We didn't even have napkins. Will not be returning! read more

A friend of mine recommended this place for a lunch spot, and I was not disappointed. We started with a couple of cappuccinos and moved onto a crepe for me and a quiche for my friend. The quiche is served in it's own large ramekin and was absolutely delicious. I built my own crepe with turkey, spinach, avocado, tomato and swiss cheese. The food was great, but the pastries were ridiculous...ridiculously amazing! I had tiramisu and a blueberry french macaron, my friend had something called a Callebaut cake that was so chocolatey we almost died and went to heaven on the spot. Patrick and Eric both stopped by our table multiple times to make sure our experience was going well. Great service! To put it simply, we love the food but EXPECT awful service. My husband and I come here about once every two months when we want a delicious veggie omelet, he gets the meat lovers with 8 egg whites. He likes their oversize coffee cups, I like the atmosphere. Here's where it gets ugly, every time we have been there we have to go up to the front counter to get a coffee refill. I really think they have no idea that they are giving such terrible service. It takes forever to get seated, and once you are it's another 10 minutes before you are greeted by a server, like I said forget drink refills or a check back after the food has arrived. All in all we still go ever now and then but every time my husband leaves irritated and swears we will never go back. read more

Bad bad bad experience...a friend of mine purchased a $50 gift card for my wife and I. Phillip (manager at the time) signed the gift card. Down the road I go back to use the gift card for my wife's birthday cake only to find out that they no longer honor Phillip's signed business card....The manager said "bad things happened under Phillip and now the new owner/manager (brother) isn't honoring Phillips signed business cards". 1. If that is the case, you shouldn't operate under the same business name. 2. How is it my problem if a sibling managed the store improperly? 3. You just stole from not one but two paying customers. I'm never going back, and I hope you don't support a business that doesn't honor their word. read more

I have tried this place twice - just to verify that they might have been having an "off" day. The second time was worse than the first. Both Saturday mornings I went, the service was S...L...O...W... The second visit I asked three times for a glass of water, they said it would be right out. There wasn't more than five gliders occupied, Once again, slow response. We asked twice for the ticket, we ended having to go in and wait at the register to pay - and still waited to be helped... The wait person who said she would be right back with the water after the third request? When I went to get in my car to leave - she was out by the dumpster smoking a cigarette. This adorable little bistro has become our family's newest go to place for casual but delicious food. Their savory crepes are unbelievable! The servers are always sweet and very attentive, and they make the most amazing pastries that not only are delicious, but look absolutely gorgeous as well. The atmosphere inside is cute and the staff makes it quite welcoming. We have eaten here many times for lunch and it's always been a very pleasant experience. Brought the family here over a year ago. The service was great, the coffee was great, but the desserts needed some work (which is sad because this is what they are supposed to be known for). Everything was a bit dry and stale tasting. Since we live in the Bay Area and I often work in Sacramento, I wasn't able to bring the entire family back for a "redo". However, I did come back myself this past Fall and I had a better experience. Still not the greatest. So I'm averaging my rating based on both experiences. read more

Only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because the food has been delicious and also is only reason we come back....... until today! Food was nothing like prior visits and as usual the service absolutely sucks!!!! No checking in on us, had to go get our own menus and tell them we were ready to order. This bakery is honestly one of my favorite places in Sacramento! Their food is delicious and the cakes are unique and worth every penny ! Every year for my birthday , also my parents birthday, we have made it a tradition to get our cakes here ! Never going again!!! Poor service and frozen product, instead of the old amazing fresh food. And our favorite server Patrick is no longer there. Teach your staff to communicate, if a plate is going to take a min(or you forgot to put in our order) then tell us, don't make us wait over an hour when there are 3 other tables here... I can't believe I haven't been here before. It's really cute. They have really fun outdoor seating with each one personally covered. We chose to sit inside though because it was a little warm. I had their Fig and Feta Salad with chicken and it was delicious! My friend had a make your own crepe and also loved it. The service was very prompt and our waiter was funny. Has that feeling.. ya know?!? Service was fast and friendly, everything was super fresh, made to order and solid portions. I got the village veggie, with no cream cheese, but thinking back.. that would probably even make the sandwich more epic, it hit all the right spots. It was flavorful and delivered very well. - my buddy got some kind of chicken sandwich that he said was amazing as well. I also got a coffee and that was tasty, they use Java City, nothing special in my eyes, but I get it. It's a longtime staple. - I didn't even get to touch the desserts this time!!, that will be my mission next visit, along with trying something else... from roaming local roosters to just a really beautiful hangout, definitely this place is worth checking out. They're open 7 AM to 6 PM so I'd say you have really no excuse other than to go get that bomb deli sandwich!

As someone who is bipolar and been homeless before, I always pass along my leftovers to one of the homeless that hangs out in the park. I came up to him today with a cup of tea, and he asked if I could get him a cup of coffee. I said sure, it's 2 dollars that I can spend on someone in a similar situation that I have been in myself before. I came out with a cup of coffee for him, he was standing by the bar down the street. He requested milk and sugar. I didn't want to touch the cup he was holding so I said okay. The girl at the register was happy to give me an extra cup for milk and sugar. I filled it and was cornered when I was exiting. She was fuming, flustered saying that refills aren't free. How dare I take free refills from the shop before. I apologetically expressed I can pay for a second cup of coffee. She didn't back down. She verbally berated me in front of EVERYONE and it was an awful experience. I've been homeless myself but I've never looked it. This is unacceptable behavior and very ableist. I will still come by, but I wanted to warn others that this place is very discriminatory against the disabled homeless population and I do not want to be a part of this kind of energy.

We had the sweetest server, Debbie, and she made sure that the coffee cups on our table were always filled with hot coffee. My father in law had the French Toast and crispy bacon. It was a large portion of French Toast and the bacon was cooked perfectly. My husband ordered the Ham egg scramble with pancakes. He said his eggs were light, fluffy and very good. His 2 pancakes were large and looked really fluffy too.... I took a bite of his pancake and it has great flavor and was perfectly cooked. I ordered the veggie omelette With Jack cheese. I was able to substitute no zucchini for sausage. I choose crispy hash browns and a biscuit on the side with a side of biscuits and gravy gravy. My omelette was a 3 egg omelette, my hash browns were a perfect crispy and the side of biscuits and sausage gravy was flavorful and very good. They serve breakfast and lunch and all of their food is reasonably priced. A few lunch items, like fish n chips or a French dip are only $12.50...not too pricey at all. If you are looking for delicious hot food, friendly servers and reasonable prices this is the place for you. We will definitely be going back to The Hungry Halloween Cafe soon! Unfortunately, we left wondering how it has such a high rating. I ordered the Country Scramble. The potatoes seemed boiled rather than fried and were very soft and mushy. That made the entire scramble watery and mushy as well. On the positive side, the sourdough toast was good. The biggest issue, though, was the cleanliness. In the bathroom, I saw three dead cockroaches and what appeared to be rat droppings around the edges of the floor. That was extremely unpleasant and honestly made it difficult to feel comfortable eating there. Based on our experience with both the food and cleanliness, my wife and I would not recommend Hungry Hollow Café, and we would not return. I rarely leave a review like this, but cleanliness in a restaurant is something I take seriously.

I ordered the senior 1/2 waffle, egg and sausage and hands down it was the best waffle I have ever had. The perfect waffle, warm butter melting in every crevice, maple syrup just like we grew up on... egg over medium to perfection. I had a lovely waitress who had my waffle back when I told her I needed it to be slightly crispy! So now I am deep waffle trouble as Country Waffle is calling my name as we speak.

I've had donuts, the Midtown Morning, and the Smokin' Pig (pulled pork and apple grilled cheese). I can't speak to the service since I've never ordered from they directly but the food was always warm and fresh. Looking forward to trying more items in the future.

It was truly a lovely evening. We ordered a Nutella with strawberry that was split in half and a walnut and honey crepe. Both were delicious.
