I came in for my first appointment here for a routine cleaning and checkup and had a great experience from beginning to end. I was able to schedule via text, which is extremely convenient for me. I was greeted and checked in when entering their clean, aesthetic office. They have the newest dental tech I've ever experienced. Beth was my dental hygienist who was wonderful and thorough checking in on comfort and providing explanation throughout the cleaning. She even offered and applied topical anesthetic for my sensitive teeth, so it was entirely painless! Dr. Sadat was my dentist and she was just so sweet. She gracefully took on my questions, and there wasn't a moment I felt rushed like I normally do with dentists who are quick to meet their next patient. TLDR: highly recommend! WOULD RATHER LET MY TEETH ROT THAN COME HERE. TL;DR - Terrible customer service, patient care AND shady billing. Familiarize yourself with The No Surprises Act - Providers are legally required to give you an up-front cost estimate before performing work you'll have to pay for out-of-pocket. If they skip that step and bill you months later, that is THEIR mistake. It's on them, not you. I'll start on a positive note - Vy, the hygienist is an absolute gem. The salt of the Earth, really. She is compassionate, kind and gentle. Her care for patients is palpable and I wish she didn't work here so I could continue to be seen by her. Everyone else? Absolute crooks who dgaf about patients. It's all about sales. This place tried to stick me with a $1,000 bill SIX MONTHS after my appointment for work they never told me would not be covered by insurance. When I called them out, their "solution" was taking ZERO accountability (no apology) and "generously" offering 30% off... meaning I'd still pay $754 for THEIR mistake. Only when I cited the No Surprises Act and threatened legal action did they take accountability. Here's my experience summed up for you: Bait-and-switch Invisalign treatment - I came ONLY to create space for a missing molar implant. That's it. No cosmetic reasons, my bite or alignment was not causing any pain. I only needed to create space for an implant, nothing else and I made that VERY clear. Dr. Sidat sold me $5,000+ of Invisalign without outlining my care plan. She never told me I needed my wisdom teeth out first, or that it might not even work and that actual braces would be a better route. After TWO full sets of trays (with only 3 included in my care plan), their oral surgeon (Dr. Michael) bluntly tells me it won't achieve my goal at all. Pressure & contradiction of treatment plan: Dr. Michael contradicted Sidat's plan, dismissed my request for sedation for wisdom teeth extraction, and continued to pressure me into having my teeth pulled THAT day. ZERO bedside manner, zero warmth and lack of care. He should consider a different career path. Lack of transparency: Without a word, Dr. Sidat vanished and Dr. Bae took over my case. No explanation. No transparency. Just pretending like nothing happened. Mind you - I had never met Dr. Bae or seen her before. Painful, botched work: Dr. Bae did fillings and resin work while I was clearly in pain (wincing and wiggling in chair). I had to physically grab her wrist and tell her I needed a minute to which she did not say a word or apologize. Instead she sat there like a dog waiting for you to throw a ball. She just wanted to get back to work. My tooth is still rough and not smoothed over from the work she did. Then, after that, she gave me my retainer which didn't fit. She blamed me and said I wasn't wearing my trays long enough, wasted 45 minutes trying to hack it down, and eventually had to rescan my teeth. Dismissive arrogance: When I told her this entire process was extremely frustrating and how I felt like I was not being heard by Dr. Sidat and Dr. Michael, and now her, she told me I was "overthinking." The final straw: The $1,000 bill ($933.61 to be exact). At my January appointment, I was told my cost would be $142 after insurance. Six months later, I receive a bill for $933. Management refused responsibility, told me informing patients of out-of-pocket costs is just a "courtesy," and hid behind layers of front desk and billing staff. The manager, Scott, didn't even bother asking what happened or try to understand. They are dishonest, predatory, and shameless. I'd rather pull my own teeth out with pliers than give them another cent. If this review saves even ONE person from dealing with these crooks, it's worth it. Last thing I'll say is look at my yelp profile - I pride myself in NEVER giving 1 star reviews, in fact this is my first one, because I know how shitty it is. But I'd give this place 0 stars and put them out of business if I could. read more

Horrible experience at this practice. Went in to get a chipped front tooth fixed and Dr. Kang was going to send me out with a "fixed tooth" that was significantly longer than the tooth next to it, was not shaped correctly, and was crooked on the bottom! I had to ask her to fix it and she seemed shocked. Why would I want two different length front teeth? That's literally crazy. Tried to "fix it" first by offering to add sealing to my other front tooth (that wasn't damaged) to make that longer, for another $100 plus but I refused and only then did she offer to fix her bad work with a file on the original tooth I came in to get fixed. Towards the end, she flossed between my two front teeth, and pushed so hard, she cut my gums and made me bleed. My gums DO NOT bleed normally. She also started saying all this stuff about my bite which I NEVER heard from Dr. Park at their other location, who is my usual dentist. Dr. Kang was trying to upsell me with Invisalign and other dental. That js not what I came in for and I do not appreciate you trying to make money off me on unnecessary treatment. I will be getting a second opinion. Also FYI - the whole practice at both locations PUSHES Invisalign on you for the smallest reasons. They want your MONEY. Will never go back to this location and will probably be ending my time at this practice which is unfortunate because I want to support a womens' businesses but I'm pretty tired of their constant pushing of unnecessary services. I've been a patient of Dr. Bae for many years, but this is the first time visiting the El Segundo location. It's located next to Starbucks in a shopping center with Best Buy and Whole Foods. Parking is easy and plentiful. The staff is professional and very helpful. COVID precautions are in place from the moment you step in. This is a more modern office than the Miracle Mile location where I usually go. This office even has vibrating massage dental chairs. Nice!! Dr. Bae is a wonderful dentist. She doesn't try to do procedures that aren't necessary just to add on charges. She's saved me a lot of money over the years. She is able to do Invisalign braces. I did it and am extremely happy with the results. Dr. Bae went the extra mile to make sure my teeth were perfectly straight, no gaps, all good! Dr. Bae is in high demand. If you can't wait for her, you'll find all her staff very competent. They take most insurance, and also the Aetna Dental Savings Plan which is not insurance but provides discounts for common procedures. Dr. Bae is awesome. She cares, she's a great dentist, and she has a high degree of integrity. She's been keeping me smilin' for years and I'll likely keep my teeth for years to come, thanks to the great dental care she and her staff provides. read more

Very disappointed in the customer service at the el segundo location from the billing/ financial person. Very unprofessional responding to patients in all caps. This petson could simply picked up the phone and called but didn't. Obviously messaging someone isn't a good form of communication. I started getting preapproved by insurance for treatment to avoid the discrepancy between the estimates and what was actually covered. Even after receiving an approved estimate they would not confirm if that was the amount out of pocket I would have to pay. Basically if you have little coverage left the agreed prices between the insurance and provider are not valid and are told you are maxed out. I also was given suggested treatment for things that were just that suggestions. There is a difference in for profit care and medically needed care. After being a patient here for 15 years my family and I will be moving. read more

I really liked this place when I first came to get a cleaning/perio cleaning done, and subsequently to get new retainers. I had great experiences the first few times, actually. Marlene was super friendly, Vickie was great with my teeth, and the dentist chair had a vibrating massage option. Office is clean and in a plaza with Whole Foods. They give you a little goodie bag afterward (no candy, but there are toothbrushes). Then they introduced a new receptionist, Wendy, who told me one thing about my insurance coverage and then billed me something else right after. I don't check my mail vigilantly, and throughout the months, they kept billing me random amounts between $300 something and $500 something. I got a ridiculous amount of mail and phone calls and was overwhelmed. Plus, I thought I had already handled it, so this came as an extra surprise. Very annoying. They could have just emailed me instead, it's 2019. I ended up just paying the $300 something and booking one last appointment for a cleaning--I'm probably going to find another dentist after this. It's really not worth the headache. Also tired of Wendy. She's kind of mean for no reason and gets really defensive whenever I try to say anything about billing being messed up. I am a new patient and this was the best initial and consecutive appointments I've had with a dental office. I ended up recommending my wife, due to her previous terrible experience with another dentist office. The receptionist, dental assistants, and doctors are all awesome and have great customer service because they care. Let me start by requesting a 6th star. I have never had a better experience at a dentist office. I want to exclaim that in my 25 years of being alive I still am clueless when it comes to doctors and handling insurance stuff. But since my teeth are so big and I smile all the fucking time I NEED TO HAVE PERFECT TEETH. Big teeth eww - big white teeth vibe. I walked into the office and asked when their next appointment is. I haven't been to the dentist since a year (and a few months) I naturally blamed the pandemic. But we all know I'm just irresponsible and too scared to call the office to schedule a check up. Next appointment was the following day. I was scared but happy to get this off my list of things to do. I'm not a fan of teeth cleaning or having metal tools picking around in my mouth, while listening to that annoying mouth vacuum that soaks up all my spit. No one is, right? The bubbly girl at the front desk was so helpful and even giggled at my bad jokes. We all know how much I love that. I took a seat in the exam room and was treated by Melissa. WHO WAS FABULOUS. I was awkwardly nervous cause well, it's the dentist so isn't everyone? And she was so nice, friendly and although she was wearing a mask I still got the feeling that she was smiling. And that made me smile. While having all the tools in my mouth we managed to talk about Instagram, memes and how we both went to USC. Her sister conveniently was also working and came right over to say hi -- just as charming and kind as Melissa. The doctor came to check out my freshly cleaned mouth and complimented me on my teeth. I was happy. And prepared for her to tell me I have a few cavities (I didn't have any!!) I felt like jumping up and giving the staff a big hug. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE GONE TO THE DENTIST AND NOT FOUND OUT I HAVE A CAVITY!! It was a good day. As a whole I am beyond impressed by the office, the staff, and how sparkling clean everything is. Getting my teeth cleaned wasn't painful and more felt like getting a deep tissue massage. I actually love Dr Bae, but her office is a mess. Not worth it if you can find another doctor I HIGHLY recommend that route. They rely on temp hygienists and don't tell you at the time of scheduling that your appointment isn't guaranteed. They hold you to a 48 hour cancellation policy but cancel at the drop off the hat. Super inappropriate and the manager isn't helpful at all. I made an appointment a month out and got work coverage and they cancelled 24 hours before because they couldn't get a hygienist-- why wasn't this told to me at the time of scheduling? Such horrible experiences with dentists at this office. My six years old son previously had crown work done by other dentist before we moved and that tooth fell off. Dentist Bae suggested to install a space maintainer but didn't do x-ray before putting a space maintainer. I'm not a dentist so trusted her judgement. Then, my son's space maintainer fell off twice and each time when we wen there, dentists said it's because my son kept touching a space maintainer. When dentist Sadat attempted a space maintainer back on our second visit, she was not skilled, and my son cried with pain. Even after second time putting a space maintainer back, my son indicated pain and we sought the second opinion with another dentist. The dentist found out the tooth root was not removed and it caused severe infection. According to the dentist, simple X-Ray could have easily shown that root was not fully out and could have a tooth root removed at that time. It was too late to take a root out with a regular dental procedure. We had to see an oral surgeon to remove a deeply hidden root. Had to spend close to 2,000 dollars for the surgery. When I later called dentist Bae why she didn't do x-ray, she didn't have an answer for. When I also explained that we had to take my son to an oral surgeon and had to pay for it, she said I don't know what to say. We did a space maintainer by another dentist a year ago and it has not been fell off since then. Remember that it fell off twice in the six months with this dentistry and dentist Bae and Sadat explained to me that it was because my son kept touching it. They may say they reversed their claim on fees for space maintainer with an insurance company - I had to call this dentistry for this three months - but I'm still dealing with reimbursement with an insurance. It's been more than a year that reimbursement has not been resolved. All these nightmare and expenses could have been prevented only if dentist Bae and Sadat did their job right. read more

Her and the team there are amazing, kind, and very sweet. She made me feel very comfortable through my whole time there. My teeth cleaning and exam were done without a hitch. The worst experience I've had as it pertains to customer service, period. In my entire life I have never dealt with someone as rude and unprofessional as Keun Lee. I came in for 2 extractions. He was extremely rough and inconsiderate. He immediately went straight to my mouth and put topical numbing cream before adjusting my seat or having me rinse first. He then grabbed the needle for the numbing injections and yanked my lip. I told him to slow down and explain the process because I had never gotten any teeth pulled before. He rushed through and kept suggesting he could refer me to someone else. Long story short, he ended up cutting my lip during the procedure and when I reached to touch my lip he said "there's nothing going on there". He was telling me what I felt was not real when indeed there is a rip on my bottom lip from the tool he used to pull my teeth out. After the horrible experience he rushed through the directions during the healing process. Lastly, he asked if I had any questions and I said no but I do have a comment. As I was telling him he should slow down and listen to his patients, he said something under his breath, lifted his hand up and walked away while I was in mid-sentence. Terrible billing practices! Don't trust them! I have been coming here for over 10 year and the last two years have just been full of financial headaches. I agreed to have a treatment completed only if my insurance covered it. They gave me a quote that wasn't valid. Charged me $300 at the time of service and when the insurance wouldn't cover it (because they never really received authorization), sent me a $600 bill two days after Christmas. I had the service in Aug and it didn't get resolved until April. Next scheduled a regular cleaning, the one that's supposed to covered. They found a way to charge me for a more expensive cleaning but didn't tell me about it before they started the cleaning. Decided to surprise me when it was time for me to leave. I tried to explain to them that they can not just do whatever services they see fit and bill me for it. I should be told how much it's going to cost and agree to the true cost of the service. They don't operate like that. They told me that they are currently training the dentists on how to be better at that.....just seems unethical. Oh and the manager is never around. So don't expect to talk to anyone about the shady things they are doing. read more

It isn't everyday one would write a positive review on there Dental Hygienist, however in the case of Miracle Smile this beachfront crew are the exception to the rule. My experience overall was delightful, the procedure was relatively painless even with my pain threshold very LOW. No laughing gas needed here, Vicky my Kentucky Southernbell had me covered, funny, gentile and a pro. I was relaxed and numb before I even realized the tarter was chipping. I have decided against writing this review because I don't want to waste the energy and feel anger by rethinking of what's happened. This used to be my dentist. The facility is awesome, there's great parking, and some of the employees are generally nice. I recently had a night guard done. I got the total up-front (pay attention this part is important) and they took an impression. Something happened... they screwed up, and I was asked to come in ANOTHER day. Please keep in mind, this is not exactly convenient to drive out to El Segundo. I went and they gave me a Starbucks gift card. I don't know if that's equal compensation for the drive out there. I also didn't get an apology... Okay - after I got my mouth guard, I thought this ordeal was over. Then I get a call from the dental office saying they want more money. They explained what I paid was just an estimate - keep in mind I wasn't told this. I expressed my displeasure and walked them through the situation. They tried to be understanding. I got an email after my tirade and they let me know they would waive the extra money they've asked for. I thought everything was done. I thought we were over. Then they sent me a bill asking for the money they waived a couple weeks later. I just called to express my frustration. There go to was "it was an estimate". Empathy is lacking... I got a pretty standard "Well I apologize, but it's not our fault". I think they now waived what they were trying to collect, but I honestly would not be surprised for another bill... read more

They are all wonderful people, and I feel exceptionally lucky to have found this place. Dr. Bae is amazing! I have been with the Miracle Smile family for over 6 years, and even though I have moved out of the area I will never go anywhere else. They are reliable, conservative and reasonable in their management (ie, not trying to aggressively fill every speck of a cavity and allowing for lifestyle measures to improve one's oral health), and when big stuff needs to be done (crowns, root canals) they are dextrous, responsive and do straight up good work (esp Dr. Bae!)
