Great place with authentic Persian food with that home made flavor. We stopped here on a whim while in the area to check it out and boy we were pleased. The buffet is huge with plenty of different options to please anyone's taste buds. The grape leaves were awesome and packed with tons of flavor. The feta cheese was so fresh and tasty it complimented our food perfectly. We had many new items never tried before like the dill rice and the sweet rice with sliced almonds. The food was truly great and different from your everyday middle eastern buffet. The staff was warm and friendly constantly checking in on us to make sure we were pleased. Start with Tahdig 'bottom Of The Pot ' Or Hard Rice OR Kashk' Bademjan (whey And Eggplant) Braised eggplant mixed with garlic, flavored with herbs and spices. topped with sauteed dried mint, sauteed onions and cream of whey. As long as you are not allergic to Eggplant, this dish is a NOT miss. Move onto Shirazi Salad a persian take on cucumber, tomato, onion, parsley salad For the main star of your dining pleasure, order the platter of kabob's that offer combination of chicken, beef, and lamb. All orders are served with steaming naan bread and persian salad. The food is made to order and offer up some of the perfectly made kabob yet. Their menu is varied with numerous kabobs served with saffron rice. There are vegetarian dishes as well offered. Do not even think of leaving without Makhloot (ice Cream And Faloodeh Mixed), a cup of gelatinous sweet rice noodle served with Ice Cream on top, served with a side of lemon juice to drizzle on top. I had heard good things about this restaurant so I decided to try it out. I was happy to discover that they serve a lunch buffet (I went during the weekend) which was $11.95. They have quite a lot of selections on the buffet and their Tabouli and Baba Ganoush are really good. Their Kabobs are flavorful and I really enjoyed their Eggplant and Lamb (it was in a tomato based sauce). Don't forget to leave room for the Baklava, sooooo delicious! Ok, I'm giving it a fifth star. It's my new favorite restaurant. Petra is 3 miles from my house, this is 30, yet I keep coming here every single time. Most of the time I come right at 11am. The food is not even out yet. But when it comes out, it's nice and hot and fresh. I've been here a couple of times at or after noon, and I don't like it. Not because of the food. They constantly refresh that. I just don't like fighting with other people for the food. It can get busy. And rightly so. The place is delicious. I've been here over fifty times now. The one thing that earns it a fifth star is consistency. The food is consistent. Consistency good. I've tried everything in that buffet. Not a single bad thing. But I have my favorites. The hummus is excellent, and I've developed a craving for their feta cheese, which is mild. The chicken kabobs are delicious. And the pita bread is outstanding. I highly recommend this place. Really great find. I have been back again and again for the middle eastern food that fills me up. The only down side is how much I over-eat EVERY time! I am vegetarian but I still find lots to love. They sometimes have a buffet that Their rice dishes are great. Green beans, Hummus, dolmas (stuffed grape leaves) and cucumber salad are all downright tasty. They also have kabobs and other meat dishes that my friends like. I have been with a variety of friends and all enjoyed. Had some dessert - ice and rice noodles with lemon sauce - LOVE. Also tried my friend's pistachio ice cream (even though I'm dairy-free) and was to die for. Chai tea also wonderful. Not that classy of an atmosphere, but what you see is what you get and I like that. Nice people. I highly recommend. read more

The food was delicious, the service was fast and the place seemed clean and nicely decorated. One funny observation is that the owner seem to be a fan of mortal Kombat seeing how he decided to label the menu with "Eliminated" for dishes they no longer served. The food is not good, IT IS PHENOMENAL!!!! The place is a MUST for anyone wanting EXCEPTIONAL food with very gracious and pleasant staff and owners. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. Came here on a whim with my friend because we were in Clearwater and it was around 10pm. Had a pretty ok dinning experience. It was interesting to see a dinner buffet restaurant...can't say Ive ever been to one of those. My friend and I ended up eating from the menu and we sat outside. The table was clean but the ground beneath my seat had rice that someone had dropped. It was really gross to me especially since I do not eat rice simply because I find it visually unappealing (I know, weird lol). People were relaxing and smoking hookah around us. We ordered the falafel plate, yogurt and cucumbers (I'm guess it was suppose to be taziki), the greek salad and Turkish coffee. The falafel plate had taboole salad, hummus and 4 pieces of falafel. I would give the food 3/5 stars ONLY because I've had really good Middle eastern and Greek food at several restaurants in Tampa for the same price and this place just didn't stack up. I think it has to do with fact that Greek food was made in a "Persian restaurant." The yogurt and cucumbers (taziki) sauce seemed like it was made from high fat plain yogurt rather than greek yogurt. So if you are looking for authentic Taziki sauce this isn't the place. That's not to say it tasted bad. But for the same price I can get tazki sauce made with greek yogurt. The greek salad however was pretty good. The price was reasonable the the portion was fairly large. And finally, if you plan to drink turkish coffee for the taste, do it but it's not going to wake you up if thats what you need. Overall OK experience. Not quite bad enough to be 2 stars but not quite authentic enough for the price. read more

You can have Koobideh, Chicken Koobideh, Chicken Kebab, Ghormeh Sabzi, ... with white or dill rice, along with salad and everything for just 12 bucks. The only drawback was an Arab family, celebrating their son's birthday in a loud, annoying way! Traditional middle eastern fare, and it was all good. Buffet dinner for $20 each. I felt it was a little over priced $15 would be more about the mark. While everything was good there was nothing that Wowed me. Lots to appease the vegetarian and it was all good. Highlights were the beef and chicken kebabs, the falafel and the baklava desert. My 1st foray into a Persian restaurant down here in Florida ..... Since there are not many near where I am had to try this out. Came for lunch .... They hAve a buffet but decided to go for the menu. My standard dish for comparing or having Persian food is the lamb shanks... And much depends on how the lamb is cooked... How soft the meat is and the fine grained rice that goes with it and the taste as well. They have an interesting vegetarian platter for the non meat eaters and there appetizers included servings of yogurt with mint leaves to cool you off. There was the lassi with mint and others there to start off with and we tried the taziki started and paneer as well. Additionally we had the vegetarian platter which was interesting . I also tried the qormeh sabzi which could do with more of the dry lemony flavor of those special lemons. The meat was well cooked and tender and the curry was flavorful with its serving of white rice was again soft and flavorful. The lamb shank was surely the winner for me ... Competed the meal with Turkish coffee and baclava . Being my 1st foray into Turkish coffee it was good to know this has to simmer and be drunk slowly unlike my macchiato from Starbucks ....thanks to Laila the server who had some helpful advice Will come again when down in this part of Florida read more

Ah--where to begin! Went here the other night for a graduation celebration. I had been here before for their lunch buffet a year or so back and that was amazing; a limited number of items but each was perfectly executed (all buffets should be like this!). This time, my family and I got to sample a variety of the menu items ranging from fish kabobs (best thing I've had here hands-down) to lamb shanks to Greek salads to veggie plates to pomegranate chicken. Everything was tasty and well-executed. The spice combinations were on-point and delicious. The pita and hummus were also fantastic. Service was quick and friendly. The atmosphere is a bit grim but that's a small price to pay for such quality food that this place puts out. read more

This place has a great lunch buffet. I was introduced to the Mirage about 5 years ago by a Persian friend, and I'm glad that happened. I don't know what Jimmy S is talking about, because the kebab meats are seasoned perfectly, especially the minced chicken kebab. My favorite. It's not the cheapest weekday lunch on the planet, you usually get out of there for $15 all in with tax, tip and a drink. I usually can't go back to work afterwards because I'm so freaking stuffed. The lunch buffet is highly recommended, and I'm pretty simple when it comes to food. It may look intimidating, but just trust me and the rest of Yelp. When we lived in St Pete we ate here frequently. The food is so good that we have seriously considered taking a cheap flight from Philly to St Pete *just* for the buffet (well, and the beaches too...). I loved every single thing I ever had on this buffet. We're always so baffled as to why there aren't more people here....Gah! I drove past this place a couple of times and finally decided to come in on a Saturday night. The owner and the wait staff were very nice and my waitress showed me all the vegan dishes on their current menu. Everything I had to eat was tasty and I will definitely be back on my next trip. Not tasty at all, bland food. It seemed to be a buffet place and not menu ordering. Buffet choices were small and there was only Baklava for dessert to choose, and it wasn't baked thoroughly. The chicken shwarma was ordered, but it came out as some type of chicken stew. There were no lamb shwarma to try, a real disappointment. The fafel tasty like it was made from a box, dry and no flavor. The beef and chicken kabobs were just grilled, that was the flavor, cooked meat. The only thing we ate repeatedly was the pita bread because it was fresh and hot... at least they have that going for them. Bottomline: Not Recommended, Do Not Enter. read more
