We were staying at the RV resort and tired of the minimal choices to eat at the casino so we drove across the street to check this place out. So Glad we did. I also ordered a canned soda. $37.....how, I'm not sure. My combo was $12.95, my wife's $11.95. So unless the can of Coca Cola was $12, I am not sure how it got to be $37. I didn't think about it or pay attention to the cost until we were on the road. The food: It was okay. Nothing spectacular. The portions were small, nothing overwhelming. For the price, I would have expected more food. Oh well. The service was great though. The girl working the counter was super nice and very attentive to bringing us whatever we needed. So I ordered the TJ tacos sign says it comes with guacamole when I ordered it she said I have to order 3minimum and have to be the same meat. I said okay no problem. No kids options btw. Regardless that's fine. I ordered an horchata. When we came to the table my daughter spilled half of it on the table. Which I immediately told the lady I apologized 2x. I found it weird how she didn't offer to replace it. My daughter (3) was obviously thirsty so I went up and asked if she didn't mind replacing it since my daughter spilled it. He answer was straight there's a fee for refills. I said even if my daughter spilled which she clearly knows cuz I asked her for a rag and she cleaned it. Her words were I didn't spill it she did. I said she's a child. I said absolutely if I dranked it sure charge me but for a child spilling it. She said there's a sign says refill charge. I asked for someone else to talk to she said I'm the only one I front I said okay I would like to talk to someone else. (2 men in the back) she got mad said let me see if we can do an exception. They obviously said yes because she was so pissed said nothing to me grabbed my cup and refilled it. Definitely not a family friendly restaurant. Like their sign of family receipe sign that says love and smiles Btw my tacos had no guacamole even after I said don't they come with guacamole When we were walking out which we have to pass the counter. She looked up not a word then looked down (mad) so I said have a great day. For the business owner of this is your child or family member or just employee. She is your front of the line she is the first person your customer sees. If she doesn't provide great service then overall your business will not succeed. I have loved Mexican food my entire life and I can tell you this is authentic, very delicious Mexican food. The chicken pico de gallo burrito is killer good. I also love the abodado tacos. Only had breakfast a couple of times because I don't usually eat breakfast, but it was absolutely 5 stars also. If there burritos and tacos weren't so good, I would order the breakfast,(chorizo and eggs), for lunch. One other thing, they are super friendly people here. So nice to see that. read more

Hungry looking for a Mexican place on our way back home from Harrahs SD. I googled Mexican restaurants near me as we were driving home this place was rated high on google so we thought we'd try. We ordered the chorizo and eggs plate came with rice and beans. I'm pretty sure that was the best chorizo and eggs breakfast I've had. The service was fast and friendly. The women at the counter was very attentive. She came by to make sure we were enjoying our food. She also let us know that the chorizo was homemade. We saw signs for this Taco Shop on the way to the Pala Resort & Casino. We were looking for a hole in the wall taco shop and we found it! They had an extensive authentic menu at value prices. I was very impressed with that. I went in with my Mom and fiancee looking for a taco shop to cater our rehearsal dinner for my wedding. We all shared a few a la carte items. We ordered the Chicken Tamales, the Beef Enchiladas, Carnitas Taco, and a side of Rice and Beans. Everything we had was amazing. By far one of the best Carnitas Taco we ever had. Seriously, the carnitas meat was great! It tasted like it just came off the BBQ from the backyard. The Chicken Tamales were good, but a little on the dry side. Still good. The Beef Enchiladas were really good too, just a little harder to cut through because it was beef. After we ordered our food we sat down inside. They had a salsa bar with amazing green and red salsa. I have had many restaurant salsas and these were up there. There were also a few arcade games in the room too to pass time, but we didn't play. We did have to wait awhile for our food, probably 20 minutes or so. But after 10 minutes they brought us out a plate of Nachos because they were taking so long. We were not mad at the wait and kind of shocked. Talk about great customer service. And the Nachos were amazing!!! Their guacamole was so good! They do cater. $8 per person for assorted food and once you have 100+ you can opt for a staffed taco bar at $7 per person. Check this place out! read more
