Quite overpriced... my boyfriend and I both got borscht soup and it was $20 each. It was enough to fill us both up on a cold winter day but for $20... maybe not coming back. I was a little dismayed that I paid close to $50 for just soup. Interior is quite nice though, I feel like it might have a very romantic feel during the nighttime. The plates and cups were also quite cute. Everything came quickly and borscht tasted well.

Walking the dogs to the park and we always walk by here. Finally tried it tonight. From the appetizer to the entree everything was delicious. The service was good. Since we sat outside took them a bit to come out to check on us. Ambiance is cute. The color and the small water fountain with music fits well. It was a bit chilly to sit out tonight but eating with dogs. They gave us a complimentary alcohol drink. Not sure what it was. I only heard cranberry. Maybe it was cause we were cold. It helped warm us up. The honey comb cake sweetness level is good. But was a little bit dry. Me and my friend ate dinner sharing a fork. If we waited for someone to come out for us to ask about the fork. Our food would have been cold by then. At the end when we got the check. They gave us a handcraft chocolate candy and that was very good also. Only complaint was the one fork but two knives for our entrees. Overall highly recommend here. Will come back and try the other things.

Cute spot on broome street. They had live music when we went on Sunday for afternoon tea. The afternoon tea was lack luster. The tea was cold and flavorless. They served avocado toast without salt... the cake was delicious and that was the only positive about this place. They also forgot about us. Will never go back

Mishka Restaurant in Soho. Very inviting atmosphere.

This is the loveliest restaurant. The walls are adorned with antiques, artwork, and mirrors. Chandeliers hang from the ceilings. Soft music. It feels like stepping into a fine restaurant in Warsaw. As for the food, everything I ordered was delicious. This is the real deal. I ordered the mushroom soup. Yum! Just like I had last year in Poland. I recommend the dumplings, too. Such an inviting atmosphere, and the waitress was attentive. Perfect! I recommend this 1000%!!!

Extremely tasty and authentic! Great service and ambiance! Medovik (honey cake) was amazing and delicious!

Marina exceeded my expectations during my visit this evening.. I came here looking for a taste of home cooking and I got everything and more. The hospitality here is more than a customer could ever expect and ask for. They not only serve you but they make everything themselves. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a unique experience and for anyone looking for a taste of home. The service and care here is outstanding and MISHKA is definitely a hidden gem that needs to be discovered

My bartender Lewis/Luis was incredibly attentive, frequently checking in to see how everything was going. He also recommended the Avocado Sushi with truffle miso to go alongside the Bang Bang Broccoli I had already ordered, and it was a great call. The Bang Bang Broccoli is good the tempura is well done and the sauce is delicious but after a couple of bites, the sauce starts to overpower the broccoli and becomes a little too saucy and salty. I found myself reaching for water more than I expected. The Avocado Sushi had a really beautiful smoky, rich flavor, though I do wish they'd pack a little less rice. With so much rice in each piece, it's hard to get a balanced bite cutting it down by half would make it perfect. The Matchatini was a standout. Creamy on top, with just the right amount of alcohol not overpowering at all, just enough to complement the matcha. As tempting as it was to order another one, I wanted to savor the moment, and I'm glad I did. For dessert, I had my eye on the Matcha Sandwich Cookies with ice cream, but they were sold out. Fellow reviewers saved the day though, pointing me to the Matcha Cheesecake and they were 110% correct. That cheesecake did not disappoint. Though it didn't seem to be a lot of food but I couldn't even finish it on my own so I got it to go.

We were honestly surprised by how filling everything was -- so many generous, flavorful courses. The pizza ended up being our favorite dish of the night -- absolutely delicious and such a standout. If you're looking for a plant-based spot that still feels like a true night-out experience, Avant Garden really delivers.

I had been looking forward to trying Avant Garden for a long time and chose it for a birthday…read moredinner, so this was especially disappointing. We had a 9:30 reservation on May 9. The reservation email said they would hold the table for 15 minutes, and we arrived at about 9:43 after getting stuck in traffic. We were still within that window, but as soon as we checked in, the host immediately told us the kitchen was closing in one minute and that the bar would close in about 20 minutes, so we needed to place our food order right away. It made the meal feel rushed from the moment we arrived. The restaurant was virtually empty, but we were seated directly next to the bathroom. There were clearly plenty of other seating options available, which made that choice even more frustrating. Unfortunately, there was a noticeable bathroom odor from our table, which was really unpleasant and not what I would expect from a restaurant at this price point. Servers were also constantly going back and forth between the dining room and what seemed to be either a storage or cleaning area near the bathroom, so in addition to the odor, there was steady foot traffic throughout the meal. There were also papers or sugar packets underneath the table next to us, which added to the feeling that the dining room was not being carefully maintained. We ordered the paella, fig toast, and Calabrian flatbread. The food itself was fine in terms of flavor, but the rest of the experience made it feel understated and much less enjoyable than it should have been. The paella and toast came out quickly, and then we waited about 45 minutes for the flatbread. During that time, no one checked in, explained the delay, or asked how anything was. We honestly thought the flatbread had been forgotten. Then, after that long wait, the flatbread and dessert were brought out almost at the same time. The server explained that the kitchen was telling them to bring everything out at once. We had also ordered a bottle of Lambrusco, but it was not available, so we were given a different wine instead. Overall, the pacing and service felt very disorganized. We were rushed to order immediately, then largely ignored for the rest of the meal. No one asked how the food was, no one checked on the delay, and the timing of the final dishes made the meal feel chaotic rather than enjoyable. Even though the food was fine, the experience around it really took away from the meal. I also think there is a practical issue with the reservation timing. If the kitchen closes 15 minutes after the last available reservation, it does not make sense to offer a 15-minute grace period. Either the final seating should be earlier, or the kitchen should remain open long enough to properly serve guests who arrive within the stated reservation window. For a restaurant with Avant Garden's reputation and price point, I expected a much more thoughtful and polished experience. I wanted this to be a special birthday dinner, but we left feeling disappointed. I don't feel eager to return, and based on this visit, I would have a hard time recommending it to vegan friends.

My favorite is the BBQ roasted meat that resembles roasted pork. I find that it always is moist and packed with pork flavor. This time there was a seafood special that arrived in a sizzling pot. They usually have a subtle plumpness to them but last time they seemed to be a bit on the flatter side. They renovated since the last time I visited. Most of the circular tables have been removed replaced with rectangular ones. Bench seating is now along the perimeter. I think they can accommodate more people this way.
