I've been here a couple times now. The first time I got the sunset roll and it was super delicious! It's a lemony roll that tastes so light and fresh. Sometimes big sushi rolls can feel really saucy and the rice can leave you feeling stuffed. Not the sunset roll. A must get. Second time around I branched out more and got the cheesy wontons and Hamachi Dragon roll and had to get the Sunset roll again. All were delicious!!! I don't regret any. What I loved the most was the service. They were ON TOP of it for us. On a Friday night busy time, we were in and out. I was so surprised. I've never gotten my sushi rolls and appetizer that fast! I'm tempted to take off a star for the service, but I'm hoping it's not a common occurrence. When our group arrived, we waited at the door for a bit before someone came by to offer to seat us. Then when we were seated, it wasn't long after that we got menus but we ended up having to ask for utensils, napkins, and sauce dishes after the appetizer came out / sushi rolls came out. Do not eat at this establishment. My husband and I did today, and I normally get the Kalbi ribs. They come with several types of Kimchee, rice and tempura. The price was dramatically gone up at $30.00 but I ordered it anyway. They brought my husband's food out first and a few minutes later the waitress came over to tell me they no longer came with the Kimchee dishes. I said OK but does it come with the tempura, she said not just ribs and rice. No salad no soup, nothing. I was not happy and told her that the ribs (12 single bone ribs or three whole strips) was not worth $30.00 and when my husband asked why it went up so much, she said the owner told her "Kalbi ribs are very expensive". I told her to tell him to take them off the menu if that is the case. He knew we were not happy, but I got the feeling he doesn't give a rip. We will not be back!! Misoya is my favorite place for teriyaki chicken and miso soup in the valley. I come here often. I love the soup, fried rice, and the bento boxes. I have tried some other noodle dishes here which were really tasty. I drive 30 minutes just to get food here which should say something. read more

Went to pick up takeout and was informed on arrival they do not do one of the items for take out...which is funny because we've successfully ordered it for take out several times from them before. They refunded us, but interestingly kept the tip for the original amount. We asked if they could just make it and box it for us to go right there, and they said yes, but moved us to the bottom of the take out orders so we had to wait another half hour for it. Disappointing considering we've been here several times, and ordered takeout several times, but because of how poorly this situation was handled we will likely try another sushi place next time. read more

Took my Grandson there for sushi. I was there a few times in the last few years. The service was fast but the sushi rolls were very small compared to other restaurants in the area. We really enjoyed the food we got. The spicy tuna roll and the King Kong roll were great and the mixed tempura was so delicious!! The complimentary edamame was just meh I tiny little bit for two people and it was barely warm and not salty enough and the cold sake was just so so and was $15. I'm going to gibe 4 stars. Terrible service, we had to walk out when we tried to order drinks. Holy shit, couldn't believe the service we received. When my wife and I arrived at Misoya, we got a table and had water delivered. Okay, no problem there. After about 10 minutes no one came by our table, so we hit the button to call over a waitress. The old lady was not happy we pushed the button, so don't have the fucking buttons on the table! My wife asked for coffee and the old lady say sarcastically "we don't have coffee, what? You want me to go across the street to Walmart to get you coffee?!?!?" (Side note: old lady maybe not realize where she's at cause there is not a Walmart across the street? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ) So wife and I sit there in silence out of sheer surprise while she rants and raves about coffee and starts waving her hands in front of our faces as if she is scribbling out the word "coffee" from an imaginary menu only she can see that's floating in the air. My wife looks at me and says "ready to go?" We get up and the old lady starts ranting "yes, go! get out of here!!" I've been to this place many times. Food is always amazing. But sadly the service is horrible. I basically have to wait 10-20 min after being seated to be asked for drinks. Then on top of that, another 10-15 for food. Refills are basically non existant unless you ask multiple times. Instead of offering great customer service they're chatting in the back, or focused on cleaning everything. I get you need to clean, but to ignore your customers request over that? I don't get it. We came for Fathers Day and the bathrooms were atrocious. The restaurant is dirty. We use to love this place. The servers did their best with being slammed and they actually did have a ton people working very hard. The prices have gone through the roof, but the food and sushi is still good. The ramen here is pretty good ! Not a fan of the sushi though. The last couple times I've been here I've gotten the "crazy boy" sushi roll & without a fail, bad stomachache. We found a new menu with more Korean entrees since our last visit. The wait staff were also different and at least one was obviously new. I tried the duk cook soup that came with side dishes, most of which were chili-pepper hot veggies. The soup contained wonton, shredded pork, egg, some greens & oval noodles. The broth was good; just a bit peppery. Another person got a large 'bento' while the third person had a large platter of chicken, rice & salad. A few days after writing this review I checked the Jackson County food inspection site (http://tinyurl.com/ycceheph) and found Misoya Bistro this year had four violations in February and three in August with a score of 85 out of 100. I finally tried Misoya. A simple to-go order of a California Roll and Miso Soup. The roll was average....nothing to make it stand out. Imitation Krab as well, as seems to be typical in the Valley. The Miso soup was OK as well. So why the 2 stars? Couple reasons. (1) When I first looked at their website many months ago, their menu was oddly missing. I phoned in to ask if perhaps I wasn't on the correct site and/or just not seeing it, and the lady said no, there's a problem with the web page, and their website manager was working on it. I did not place an order. Fast forward to last week. I looked up their website, and once again, no menu link was included in their webpage. So I found a third-party website that listed their menu, phoned in, and ordered. But it was disappointing that they still hadn't found a way to link their menu into their site after all of these months. And in this day and age we're living in. (2) And of course, the third-party website showing their menu must have been dated. Because the price it showed was about 33% lower than what I was charged when I went to pick up my order. I know, three and a half bucks isn't a huge deal. But it still caught me off guard, and again, the Cali Roll was no better than any of the other local offerings that we have in the Valley. The only difference was it was more expensive. (3) And lastly....they literally charged $.50 for the small take-out bag. I know that grocery stores are now charging for bags (although $.05, not $.50). But I have NEVER seen a restaurant do it. Not once, and I do take out all the time. Misoya, this is crazy! This was our first time in a Korean Bistro and we were delighted! Great food and fast service-needed 2 doggie bag because the portions are huge. We had teriyaki chicken and a chicken vegetable dish-both were very tasty. Service was very fast and friendly. Next door to the Craterion Theater so location is awesome! We must have been asked 7 times if all was well and the place was very busy! If you like sushi this place is where you want to go! The menu is endless. Great local wines and a very good pour! I've been all throughout Oregon and California and have been to various sushi spots from Orange County California to Salem Oregon and no one can compete with these guys. Their sushi is fresh and has the best blend of flavors I have ever experienced. They don't serve small portions and each roll is made with extraordinary vision. I haven't been to a shushing restaurant that has had better tasting rolls than this place and is a must try for any fan of sushi. read more
