I remember The Alamo, but not for the reason you'd think (diarrhea), but because it was delicious, and because I had awful order envy when one of my companions was brave enough to go for it. Then again, I got the homemade corned beef hash, which was nothing to sneeze at either. Oftentimes homemade corned beef has pales in comparison to the canned stuff, but Aunt Flo does it right. I hadn't been to the Miss Florence since I moved out of the area but made sure to stop by when I was in the area. I can't speak highly enough of this historic gem. The food is still delicious (get the Breakfast Club- you won't regret it!) but what made the whole experience even better was our server Leah. What a ball of joy she is! She also has a quick wit about her and when we complimented her on her efficiency she joked and told us it was her first day. You can get a great breakfast in a lot of places but very rarely do you get a server as great as Leah. read more

Ate breakfast Monday May 8, 2023. Ordered Greek Omelet with side of tomatoes instead of potatoes. I was told there is a $1 uncharge which just started as I never had to pay for the swap however I agreed to the uncharge. The omelet had three of four tiny 1/4" cubes of tomato and very little feta. The side of tomato slices were very thin and skimpy. There were not worth $1 by themselves let alone an uncharge instead of the potatoes that come with the meal. I told all of this to the waitress "Kassie" who didn't care to hear it. $20 with a coffee. I will have to think twice before stopping hear again. read more

I've been going here since college (25 years ago) and it's my favorite diner on earth. It's like going back in time in a good way in their small, train car restaurant. The service is incredible. On my second visit in a row over two days the waitress already knew me and gave me my same booth. It's always packed but turnover is pretty quick. Prices are very reasonable and the menu is extensive. If you've fasted the night before or are just really hungry, their pancake(s) are literally the size of a dinner plate. This is what I would call the actual definition of an old school American Diner. Amazing hospitality, amazing Food, Amazing portions, and Amazing Price! I can't say good enough about this restaurant!! I ordered the strawberry cheese cake pancakes and 3 egg omelet with 3 strips of bacon toast and home fries. First of all the pancakes are amazing and huge. the omelette was insanely delicious. I went inside with my five-month-old son and the lady carried the food out for me so I didn't have to juggle everything. it was such a nice and kind gesture. Every single time I get good food. Every time. I've had a fair smattering of offerings here, and it's always solid. The staff is always friendly. I've sat at the counter, in the booths, and in the few little tables in the back hall. I've brought the kids, friends, girlfriends, partners the works here. EVERY one of them has come away liking it. The breakfast options are my favorites. They do them all solidly and well. (And consistently) The pie is so. damn. good. (It's superior to the pie bar, in my opinion.) It can get crowded, but they do their best with that. The wait on a sunday morning can be brutal. But, it's worth it. Even the coffee, tho simple, hits the spot each and every time. read more

I've been ok'ing here for years, from going with family to friends to myself. I ways make sure I'm there before 11am so I can get the Belgian strawberry waffle. This place has a very old school feel, you can sit in a booth or at the " bar ". Each booth has a small quarter operated music box to select music from. Great old school diner. They have plenty of parking in the back lot and you seat yourself. They had a big enough menu, but not too overwhelming. I had the turkey, bacon, lettuce and tomato wrap with onion rings. The turkey was great and the onion rings were nice and crispy. The prices were very reasonable too. Oh, MIss Flo, you forever shall be five stars in my heart, that pit of sentimentality, but the more objective parts of my soul recognize you have some flaws that put you in the 3.5 star territory, so we compromise at a four with some caveats. For surely Miss Flo does NOT need my review to keep her business coming, nor should any nits I pick keep you from experiencing the best diner in the Pioneer Valley (sorry, Kathy's). You will have gathered from perusing Miss Flo's many write-ups that this is a classic wooden car-sized diner, with a row of counter seats opposite a row and a half of tiny four-person booths and one incredibly difficult to get into six-person corner booth. The exterior in its 1940s glory and the interior in its even earlier wood decor is worth the trip for any fan of diners. It's hopping at peak times, so you'll have to stooge around the entrance. The menu is very standard, and it seems to me through the mists of time like the comfort food specials aren't quite as homey as they used to be, and certainly the current generation of wait staff are put-upon young servers and not the old school Hiya hon waitresses of yore any longer. This cuts down on both the fun factor and the efficiency of the service compared to a previous era. But, the food still is decent, the prices are still in the $10 a head range when the dust settles, and while it's not open 24/7 it's still a good hangout joint. If I were more local these days I'd probably tire of it more but I always try to make a point of going back and paying my respects to Miss Flo when in the area, and I'll keep doing so. read more

My wife and I just came back here after years of not coming. The food was amazing, service was great. They were extremely busy and all of the waitresses were In great spirits. The reason I couldn't give five stars was because of one thing. The manger/owner. She was constantly snapping on her staff, making condescending and embarrassing comments to her waitresses in front of the whole restaurant. She has a bitter attitude that brings the whole environment of the diner down. As a manager in food service let me tell you, when you're rude to your staff, it effects the whole experience. This afternoon we stopped in at Miss Florence's while driving through the area. We have passed by this restaurant countless times and we now live in regret for not coming in sooner. The diner has an incredible environment since it is old school and intimate. My wife and I loved our booth and enjoyed listening to the music on their functional jukeboxes. The waitstaff here was phenomenal, welcoming, and receptive. We ordered roast beef and corned beef sandwiches which were both delicious. The corned beef sandwich looked plain since I ordered it on white bread, but when I bit into it, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. In the end, we will totally be back in the future and we can't wait to try some different items off of their huge menu of breakfast and lunch selections. read more

I had heard lots of good things about Miss Flo's, but I wasn't impressed. The service was slow and our waitress was a bit absent-minded. It took us 10 minutes to get our order taken then another 30 to get our food. My wife's meatloaf sandwich came without any gravy and it was a small chunk of meatloaf. I had the grilled cheese with bacon and onion rings. While the sandwich was good the onion rings were really greasy like they were dumped directly from the fryer without giving a few seconds to drain. I didn't get coleslaw with my sandwich which I should of, but I not really into slaw so that didn't bother me. The waitresses were overworked and even apologized that the cook was all by himself. While that's fine, that's not really my problem as a customer. the food wasn't bad, it just wasn't that great. As my wife said when we walked out, "Well, we don't need to go back there." I'm sorry to say that because I had high hopes, but I'll stick with the lunch specials at Cooper's Corner or if I need to sit and eat I'll just go to Friendly's or Florence Pizza across the street. read more

What drew me here was the iconic sign that I saw from a distance as I love the feel of an old diner experience. As we walked in it was just what you would expect, history of the past with a warmth. All the booths were taken so we sat at the bar top counter. The menu was nice sized with the daily special on the front. My wife got the Monte cristo from the specials and I got the french dip. We were driving through on a Sunday afternoon and decided a whim for lunch at Miss Florence Diner. Happily, they have gluten-free bread and buns! My daughter, with celiac, had gluten-free French toast and ate them up with no issue. If I was ever in the mood for a big home made breakfast I would always go to the Miss Florence diner. If you are into old fashioned diners this place is pretty amazing! It was originally a boxcar but has more built onto it with cozy little red booths to sit in or their front counters are always great as well. The sign that greets you from the road is an old fashion neon retro sign that looks like it should be on a postcard (which I actually bought a postcard of this place because it's so awesome)! The waitresses are very friendly and make you feel very welcomed. I was always greeted with "hi hon, how are you." I highly recommend the breakfast, for me that was always the best.
