    Meatloaf melt
    Matthew D.

Stopped in for lunch the other day with my grandma and two cousins. I'm a little disappointed to say that I thought I'd like this place a lot more than I did. The restaurant itself is cute. It was nicely decorated for the holidays and I enjoyed that it almost felt like two distinct rooms. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive without being overbearing. For lunch I had the meatloaf melt. It was fine. Nothing outstanding but I did like that they had a variety of side options. My tater tots were nice and crispy. The meatloaf itself was a little bland and definitely a bit burnt. However, the onion rings they put on top stayed crispy which overall helped the meal. My little cousin didn't like her hash Benedict. She thought it was a bland and "gooey". Overall, I'd go back to try some different items. The prices weren't astounding but I did think they were fair. The menu is extensive so I'm sure there's something for everyone as well.

    Imperial Special.

Waitstaff was attentive. Coffee hot and strong. I had the Imperial special. Very good. Prices are good for quality. Muffins spectacular.

Really great ambience, and service! The food was fresh and hot, and very yummy! The portion size on the biscuit and gravy could have been a bit better, especially considering it is a dollar more expensive than the imperial breakfast, which includes 2 pancakes, meat, 2 eggs, AND potatoes... other than that, it was yummy!

Staff is friendly and accommodating. Food was good, cool atmosphere inside an old diner, clean and comfortable. Good prices great staff.

    Tasty turkey potpie

I would definitely not expect to find a diner in the middle of a car dealer's lot. But here it is. My friend suggested this spot. According to her, the dealer bought the diner and moved it here. Well, if you like diners, and can afford it, why not? We came in for a ladies lunch and were seated in the back room. Entrance is on the right side of the building where the hostess stand is just inside the door and the restrooms are across the way. This is not part of the original diner, but built on. We were walked up a small ramp, through the diner, and down a couple of steps into another add on room that looks like a huge screened in porch with fans on the ceiling and plenty of huge windows. Wish I had a spot like this at my house. Anyway. Seated in a basic booth, the hostess gave us menus which we perused as we chatted. A waitress came by after a few minutes and asked if we were ready to order. We placed a drink order but weren't ready for our food selection yet. We tried to concentrate on the menus as she placed our drink order. The food did not rush out of the kitchen and it didn't seem to be too busy, but the food that we got was very tasty. First off I decided to spoil myself and got a milkshake. Ermagerd! This thing is SO yummy! Mmmm-m. The turkey potpie was my choice of lunch and it was also very tasty. Served in a bowl, with a puff pastry on top. There were chunks of veg and turkey in a creamy sauce that was flavorful without being salty. This dish was full of veggie goodness and I left feeling quite full. I almost didn't have room for that milkshake, but I managed to squeeze it in. :D I try to get something other than a burger or sandwich if the menu has an option that appeals to me. This menu has a number of entrees that I would definitely come back to try. Our waitress was very nice, personable and competent. The diner itself is a bit old, but the room we were seated in was very nice. The restroom is a single, quite large and clean. It's in an unexpected spot, but don't let that put you off. If you like diner food (meatloaf, turkey dinner, chicken parm and the like) stop in and give it a try.

I was in for the adventure!!! She contacted them ahead of time to get more details (they didn't have a Yelp page yet) and they advised to park across the street at the package store (was it a package store? I think it used to be Lynch's drugstore years ago? I'm not positive anymore). We parked and crossed the street. We weren't quite sure where to go and stopped at the front screen door to ask. They told us to follow around the side of the building to the back. We stepped into their back patio and were quickly in a relaxed atmosphere. The patio was set up beautifully with plenty of tables, umbrellas and lots and lots of plants!!! They came out and helped us pick a nice shaded spot to enjoy our meal. We were offered menus and the woman who seems to be the originator of this 'idea' (her name is fittingly Holly), sat down with us and told us how this venture is all run by volunteers and all the money raised goes towards funding the town of Uxbridge's annual Christmas Parade. She also explained to us (along with her marine biologist daughter) how they are trying to be as environmentally conscious as they can be. All the paper products were recyclable as well as the disposable eating utensils. They also made an extra effort to get canned water as to cut back on plastic. My friend got the chicken pot pie and I got the pastrami sandwich. We were quite pleased with our selections. They have a regular everyday menu and specials everyday. They have limited hours of Tuesday thru Friday from 11-3 pm. Go check them out, you'll enjoy a delicious meal, help a great cause and get to relax on their cute patio!!

Small but cozy eatery/drinkery in a residential neighborhood. No parking near the building, but…read morethere's an easy lot just around the corner. Lots of knock knacks on the walls, many related to beer and trains. Deep menu of comfort food made from scratch. Good draft beer list. -- Depot Burger: Their more ambitious of two regular menu burgers (they also have some as specials) was a visual treat in a pillowy Portuguese muffin. This provided a full size patty cooked to medium rare with juices trickling from the gentle, loosely packed beef. Full-coverage Vermont cheddar added silky richness, red onion jam added contrast, and tomato and arugula added vegetation. The star, at least visually, was the bacon: crisp, yet soft and bendable, with glorious color. Flavor was even better, with a deliciously strong cure. The whole package worked beautifully. One of the better burgers I've had this year for sure. -- Fries (a $2 add-on to the burger): A big stack, hand-cut (they also have hand-cut sweet potato fries), cooked just to the point of crispness while leaving a little droop and fluff. Nicely seasoned. -- Beer: I was thrilled to see a Hill Farmstead Double Nelson on the tap list. Smooth, strong, and delicious. -- Buffalo Wings: Looked and felt a little different, so I asked. Baked, then fried, yielding some charred crust on the outside and some tenderness within. Good wings, but with great sauces: the homemade Buffalo sauce had some serious kick, some complexity (little bits of unknown herbs), and some vinegar too. Homemade blue cheese thick and zesty. On Mondays, $1 each in batches of 6 or more, and with a guest flavor on top of their interesting fleet (ginger is next). -- Quahog: A well-rounded stuffed pile with bits of chorizo crispily mixed in, served with lemon wedge. It needed it for moisture, but a formidable offering that still satisfied. -- Caesar Salad: A large one with two well-layered hunks of Romaine, with a zippy (maybe mustard-infused) dressing and a dense coverage of crispy pancetta. Numerous homemade, dice-sized, well-seasoned croutons. No additional Parm and no anchovy pieces I could detect on their, but that dressing didn't let me down. A different kind of Caesar, but a very enjoyable one. -- Steak Tips: Had as an add-on to the salad, this provided a taste without committing to a full order. These don't make my steak tips pantheon (Champions, Tuckaway Tavern, New Bridge Cafe), but decent. Cooked a bit past the medium rare but still somewhat juicy. Nice flavor too, but subtle. I wouldn't get these again; too many better things on the menu. Service at the bar was cordial and attentive on both visits. Friendly staff all around. Not everything was perfect, but so much of it was (and no duds) that it's impossible not to drop a 5 based on the overall quality of every aspect.

We were told by our server that a parking lot is available just down the next side street - close by. We had no reservation, but scored a round table facing the street. Place was homey, lots of metal signs on the wall and hanging from the ceiling. Nice menu, adult daughter had a clam chowder (very thick and tasty) and shared our meals. My significant other had a corned beef reuben with a side of truffle fries and a pickle spear - very nice reuben, plenty of meat, swiss, kraut and dressing. She and daughter who always order reubens aaid the sandwich was good. I had a Depot burger which was half lb beef, bacon, cheese and tomato. Excellent. Came w homemade chips and a spear. Server was attentive with refills, checking on our food and whether we wanted dessert. Nice place for lunch, just celebrated their 12th anniversary of being in business.
