Sunday breakfast they have a breakfast buffet with eggs, pancakes, meats and such. It's not expensive like $14.99 or so. I can't remember but not bad. They also have a salad bar. Which looked super good. Lots of fresh veggies and ingredients. They have specials on a board and per day and a large menu choices. I got the breakfast skillet. It was big and good. No complaints. I couldn't finish and had to take it home. Everyone got something different and all enjoyed their meals. The owner and servers were nice and efficient. Decor is kinda old family restaurant vibe. Not bad. Just older. Food is good, variety is high, prices are reasonable. The lady at the check out told me about the cheesecakes and desserts are made by a bakery and they ship them in. Looked delicious. If you're looking for a home cooked type meal. Then this is it.

We did arrive around 11a on a Sunday so there was a tad bit of a wait, but nothing crazy. Once we were sat, the service was quick and friendly. The coffee was good. We decided to do the breakfast buffet. It had a small but good selection of pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs, scrambled omelet with peppers, onion and ham, bacon, sausage links, biscuits, gravy, assorted fruit and yogurt. We found the pricing to be fair and they were constantly bringing fresh food to the buffet.

She said she wanted to be by the water, somewhere "healing", so we discovered Tinkers Creek Tavern together, and the scenery was more than we anticipated. We opted for the patio, of course. While it was hot outside, we didn't notice the heat. The shade from the trees and the creek nearby must have cooled things down. Bugs were not an issue either. The staff was super friendly. We explained we were newbies ans asked for recommendations. We learned their brisket is something they're known for, but I leaned more towards seafood. I had the shrimp and grits for my meal, after the pretzel as an appetizer. The food was so good and our experience was so great I told my mom about it, who happened to go back with my brother while I was at work one Saturday (bummer ). I've also called in take out, and returned several times with another friend and my middle son. We had the fried green tomatoes, fried mozzarella, corn pudding, and brisket sandwich (I opt out the cheese). The food hits every time.

Friends and family always circle back with a "thank you" after visiting, especially when they're in the Valley View or Independence area. When I worked nearby for a couple of years, my coworkers and I made a habit of grabbing lunch on the patio. It overlooks the calm stretch of Tinkers Creek, which adds a quiet, almost tucked-away feel to the experience. One afternoon, we even watched a crane wade through the water, bathing and fishing like it owned the place. Not a bad backdrop for a lunch break. Consistently great food, reliable service, and a setting that does a little extra without trying too hard.
