Amazing Pho, been coming here for years. Staff could be friendlier but the food makes up for it

This is my go to pho restaurant. The portion size, taste, customer service and setting is fantastic. There is definitely a lot of care that goes into the restaurant and it's food. If only there were one and a half stars.I really love Pho. I love vietnamese food. That is why I randomly stopped by to eat here. I was expecting the best but I got "wonk wonk wonk." It didn't start off well entering into this restaurant. The service is pretty bad when the waitresses and waiters are playing games on their nintendo DS's on a side table and you basically have to seat yourself. Second, this is the first place where they haven't asked me for water or for a drink. Good Vietnamese restaurants have servers who are usually on top of their game and not lazy and playing video games on the side as they wait for the food. This is also the first restaurant that gives me my soup first before my spring rolls and the vegetables. When I got my vegetables it was the smallest amount of bean sprouts am basil that I have ever got at a Vietnamese restaurant. Furthermore they don't give the typical soup spoons to slurp the broth. They give regular dining spoons expecting the customer to eat the soup in small portions. This is frustrating when you want to just eat the broth (which is pretty good) Okay enough about that and on to the food. It got one star for the food which was not bad. The broth is actually really good but I can't eat it the way I want to because of they don't use Asian soup spoons. If you want decent Vietnamese food then go somewhere else because by the time you eat the food you'll probably be frustrated by the mediocre service run by clueless teenagers pretending to be waiters and waitresses. read more

Recently reopened under new management. And this establishment is much improved. A common complaint with the old management is the lack of a professional front of the house staff. This issue has been improved with multiple waiters. Though the professionalism is still a little lax, the service speed is getting up there. The pho, I think, has improved as well. The broth is tastier and the meats are quite good as well. The portion of garniture has improved as well. Perhaps, as people say, taste is a reflection of one's own emotions, the less frustrating experience might have been part of the magical cure. All in all, I am optimistic about this place and now look forward to coming here rather than dreading it. read more

Just tried to eat there with my husband and my service dog. I was informed that I had to have some sort of ID card for my service dog, which is not legal in the U.S. according to the ADA. After I tried to explain that my dog is a task trained service dog, along with the 2 questions they are legally allowed to ask, the woman stated that she was scared. I informed her that my dog is trained to go under the table, and be out of sight, and will not cause any disruption. I then explained that he is medical equipment, and they were discriminating against me as a disabled person. They were insistent upon asking for proof that he is a service dog. I explained that they cannot ask for any sort of ID, certification, or registration. She left to go get her manager, and patrons began harassing me as well about standing up for my civil rights, and not showing an ID card. The manager came out, and he refused to hear the law as well. At that point, I left as my neurological condition began to flare up because of the stress, and my pain levels have increased. I have since filed a complaint with the department of justice, and will inform all my friends about the discriminatory practices here at Sai Gon Pho. I will also be making complaints with the BBB and state and local consumer affairs departments, and potentially reaching out to a news source to shed light on the discrimination I face on a daily basis being a young woman who utilizes a service dog to help with my disabilities. read more

Asked for a vegetarian vermicelli when I went and they made it with tofu and mushrooms. Delicious! Their boba tea was ok, I needed to add more ice. My friends really enjoyed their Pho and their shrimp cakes and spring rolls. The customer service wasn't the best, but the food was good, I'll probably go back to have the noodles again! I just wish they would take the bill to your table, it took us a while to figure out that we had to go up to the counter to pay. read more

My first time having pho, my husband had been here before but was my first time. The food was fantastic!! Although the service left something to be desired. We were not greeted nor anything similar but the first contact was laying the menus down and walking away and then after simply asking if we knew what we wanted. I had to take our water glasses up to be refilled as no one came by. Regardless the food was amazing and for that alone I would come back. My husband did say the time he came before he did have better service so maybe it's not an all the time thing. read more

Pho was good, but I felt like the broth lacked flavor. I usually can smell the broth which gets my mouth watering, not the case here. The chicken wings were really good and so was the taro, probably the best taro I've ever had. A good tip is order everything at the same time. There's only one server, but he's really nice. Be patient and you'll enjoy a good meal. read more

This was our first visit to Pho Max. The restaurant is located in a dumpy shopping plaza in Wappingers Falls and the interior is a bit awkward but the staff are very friendly and the food was delicious! We had a beef curry dish with rice from the daily specials and a pork skin and shrimp bowl with vermicelli noodles. Both were very tasty and well cooked. Each table has chili sauce, siracha, and hoisin sauce and chop sticks or utensils. Our waiter forgot our order of iced coffee but was sweet and gave it to us in a to-go cup- the coffee was also very good (and strong). I am looking forward to trying this place again. read more

This place had pretty good food. I had a pork chop and my friend had a pasta bowel. The portion of the pork chop was not huge but it also was not very expensive. I had some of the pasta bowel. That was pretty big and filling. I would have given it 4 stars except it seemed to lack a little character. As soon as I walked in the front door there was a table of tools that looks like it had been there a while. There is a construction job at the front door that does not appear to be professional. I assume this is a small business trying to get off the ground and I get that. I did enjoy my meal and will go back. The two of us ate there for under $20 so I really can't complain. read more

I have wanted to try Vietnamese Pho for a long time, but for some reason, have not been able to make it happen. So, on an impromptu family visit, we tripped over Saigon Pho, and decided to check ot out for lunch. While there, we ordered pho and shared an order of veggie spring rolls. This was a great little spot, centrally - located. Nothing special about the athmosphere, but it was clean and well-organized. It appeared as though they do take out as well as "eat in", and they serve beer and wine if you're so inclined. The ingredients of both pho and spring rolls were delicate and fresh. They give you some bean sprouts, jalapeños and some fresh basil as additional toppings for the pho, and each table has a varied assortment of spicy, sweet and savory sauces. The spring rolls came with a delightful peanut sauce for dipping. The service was fast and courteous. I will visit again, if I am in the area, and have already recommended it to family read more

I had the Bun which was tasty but I've had much better at Pho Boston in CT. The lettuce was kinda old, the noodles were done very well but the port was fatty and seasoned in a strange sauce not grilled they typical way I've had it from many different places. I'd suggest they invest in a grill and grill the pork. I"ll go back and try the Pho. The waiter was great, service was fast too! The floor was sticky but I think the building was going through some serious changes. read more
