Wow, what a wonderful place to eat. We were taking family visiting from Florida to the airport. Stopped in for a quick lunch before their flight. We were blown away by the service we received. First, Ja'Naysha came around from the counter to explain the way you order and details about all of the meats and sides. She took so much time with us and answered all our questions. Next, when my family explained they were from Florida, the manager, Jessica, immediately started telling them where they could find Mission BBQ near their home in Florida and where new locations were being built. As we were ordering, everyone stopped, put their hand on their heart and sang the National Anthem. We joined in and sang because it was so wonderful to be around people like us that take pride in this beautiful country. My brother in law was retired Navy, and I'm pretty sure I caught a tear in his eye. We sat down, ate an amazing meal that included brisket, pulled pork, baked beans, coleslaw, green beans, potato salad and even had a sampling of the collard greens, which by the way were amazing. Another server named Beth, checked in us several times asking if she could get us anything or take things away from the table as we finished. She talked with us awhile telling us how much she enjoyed her job there and how nice everyone was to work with, even the cooks in the back. We decided to get some strawberry shortcake for dessert which was so good and the strawberries were ripe and sweet. Ja'Naysha knew it was our first time there and she even came over and gave us a little more dessert; she was so sweet. If you're looking for good barbecue and good sides you won't find it at any Mission barbecue. If you're desperate for barbecue then you found your place if it's super convenient with no other choices. I will say the staff, the cashier was very friendly. It has a pleasant atmosphere but I'm all about the actual barbecue. The traditional barbecue looked like a pork chop was shredded up and not good or slow cooked barbecue. I like that you have a variety of different sauces to go with your sandwich. I had the fries and there weren't that many on the plate and they got cold quick. The combo came to $12 so ultimately I should've went right across the street to Chick-fil-A and waited Another day for barbecue. read more

Upon walking out of the Dirty Buffalo in disgust, we found Mission BBQ on yelp and anxiously wanted to try it. AMAZING!!! A completely Pro-American restaurant. A huge supporter of our armed forces and first responders. As a first responder (PA Fire Police), I was at home here. Memorabilia from the military, law enforcement, fire, and ems agencies/departments filled every nook and corner of this awesome restaurant. Now for the food.....AMAZING!!!!! I love NC style pulled pork, and they nailed it perfectly. Each table has a six pack of sauces on it, with descriptions of them on the box they are housed in. Apple cider vinegar is also located on the tables (my flavoring of choice). The fries are fresh cut and the mac and cheese is what legends are made of. I actually had to get back in line to purchase a second pulled pork sandwich, one is never enough. The staff is courteous, knowledgeable, and fast. I had the pleasure of talking with Kim B., the Community Ambassador for this location. She shared with me how the company came to be and how it gives back. She is truely an amazing person. I'll start out by saying how DELICIOUS this place is. I'm from TN and pregnant so I'm super picky on the BBQ but we got a pound of pulled chicken, side of fries and Mac n cheese. It smelled incredible on the way home and then... we got home... and the bottom of the bag fell out. I cried. It was awful. There were only a few bites of BBQ that stayed in the box instead of the floor and about half the Mac n cheese. Over all, amazing but I'll 100% never trust their bags again. read more

I have eaten here twice now and both times have enjoyed the experience. The food was great, I got the brisket (juicy) and jalapeño sausage and two other sides. Delicious and great portions. It is A little on the pricy side and I was surprised that despite their military theme, they don't have any military discount. Just looked like another chain restaurant from the exterior but it was close to the hotel so I tried it. I was surprised by the look and smells when I entered. Very nice place. I got the pulled pork plate with baked beans and it was great. No hard overcooked edges. No pool of grese on the plate and it tasted great. OMG..it saddens me to write this review, however I think its only fair to share my experience. First of all i ordered the brisket burnt ends with baked beans and cheesy potatoes. The sides were great and very tasty, now the brisket burnt ends were Dry, hard and Absolutely terrible. Maybe it was just a off day, unfortunately I will not eat here again. However I would recommend the New Redwood BBQ in Norfolk the old Dog n Burger location. Everytime there brisket burnt ends are moist, tender and have a wonderful taste. Again the only reason i supported this location is bc Im a veteran as well, nonetheless I believe ppl should know the truth about my experience with this location. Yesterday when my husband picked me up from work, not too far down the road, he said he'd be ordering dinner. He had a list of Mission Barbecue items to feed our family of four. After some time listening to the pick up recording, as we sat in my company's parking lot, a male answered the phone to say please hold after my husband said he said he wanted to place an order...again the hold recording. After so many minutes of that, a female answered, and my husband repeated he wanted to place an order...again he's told "please hold". He started to continue holding, but felt answering the phone a second time, should be to take an order, not make the customer wait a second time on hold. We went elsewhere. We certainly love Mission Barbecue food, but after that experience, decided to spend our money elsewhere. read more

First off I've never had bad food or service at a Mission BBQ but the manager at this location was great. We tried to order our daughter a bowl of just lettuce with nothing on it. We were informed after paying that they did not have any lettuce and were refunded. While we were eating the manager came out and apologized and explained that they had already made salads but ran out of lettuce. He apologized several times and went out of his way to try to "make it right". There were also two ladies that walked around helping take customers trays and bringing to go boxes if needed. Absolutely fantastic!!! The food and their employees are always great. They great you with a smile, ask for your name, and repeat the order back to you, to assure you they have your order correctly. I love their food and the sides are amazing. I suggested them to my co-workers and they came on site to cather one of our events. Some say it was the first time they ever had Mission's BBQ and now they go on a regular. My co worker even used them for their Thanksgiving dinner. I treat my friends there for lunch sometimes, and I also have them for dinner weekly. Even reheated, you cannot go wrong. My boyfriend is a Military Vet so he appreciates them even more. Either I go for lunch or after work weekly, or he will pick it up on his way home on Saturdays. It is definitely my favorite restaurant and I cannot wait for my family to come here and try it because I am always bragging about ribs and BBq being from Memphis in all, so this is a special delight for me. I had the half chicken with mac and cheese. I thought the chicken was really good and the mac was fire. Wife and daughter both had pulled pork sandwich's, one with fries and one with mac and cheese. They both liked it but my daughter said my wife's pulled pork is better. I still recommend but overall a 4/5. read more
