Spur of the moment decision to stop her for an early dinner, what a great decision. We had a two meat plates and sides. The brisket was great, pulled pork paired great with sauce of your choice (six options) and the sausage was perfect. I loved the green beans with that Smokey bacon flavor. Fries were fine and allowed us a perfect foil to taste test all the sauce offerings. Memphis Belle was the winner for me. You have to ask for butter for the corn bread when picking up your meal. The best part is the 6 BBQ sauces from all the well-known BBQ regions of the country at every table, use as much as you want. Difficult to pick a favorite but I've narrowed it down to 4. Me and my husband were excited when we learned Mission BBQ was opening nearby. We were not disappointed. The food was amazing. We tried the pulled pork, pulled chicken, brisket, & Turkey with baked beans & mac n cheese as our sides. The pulled pork melted in your mouth. The Mac n cheese tasted homemade. Food quality is great and the prices are very reasonable. If you have been to Old Carolina BBQ it is a similar format, but, much better quality and may even be cheaper. Traveled here from Buffalo. This is our favorite while visiting the Pittsburg area. The food is delicious. Not overly smoky like most places. Good quality and quantity. The brisket just melts in your mouth. Soo good. My only complaint is that there is not a location in Buffalo area. It's hard to find any good bbq in Buffalo. Never had anything bad. I am from DC by way of Cali and saw these guys on Yelp while I was in the Pittsburgh area, so I decided to check them out. They did not disappoint. This place is by far the best brisket i have had... and i spent several years in Texas. The meat is so tender and prepared to perfection. I ate at Mission for the first time at the beginning of June in Lakeland, FL and couldn't get enough while we were there on vacation. Then found out when we got back that the Robinson location was about to open. Ate there last night and it is just as good as it was in Florida! Ordered catering for 15 people (only had 10 guests). Thank goodness I ordered extra, because there was barely enough. Brisket is a big draw & what we got was very little meat and a ton of sauce - so disappointing! There was a bit more pulled chicken, but the containers of coleslaw & baked beans looked empty from the start. The only thing that was plentiful was Mac n' cheese. It was embarrassing, because I felt that people would have eaten more, but thought there wouldn't be enough food. That is not the way you want to feel as a host. I was right outside the free delivery zone, but got charged for that (even though I spent over $200) & then got an email the day before stating that "gratuity" would be appreciated for the delivery. My husband loves BBQ. Me, not so much. I scanned the menu before we first visited and saw the smoked turkey sandwich so decided we'd give it a go. The smoked turkey, fresh cut fries, and a side of Mac n cheese is my go to! On my first visit I was disappointed to find out that they do not have cheese! First time dining at this restaurant--but it definitely won't be our last. Such a great restaurant and I love their respect for our military-considering my husband has many family members in military. Particularly loved the fact that they all stop and come out at noon to sing the Star Spangled Banner-everyone in the restaurant stood, faced the flag, with hand over our hearts singing--how patriotic and awesome--especially during these crazy times when the country is so divided. Anyway--the food is absolutely, perfectly delicious! Served hot, generous portions and the employees are so polite and accommodating. We had the Turkey and also the smoked brisket and they were the best darn BBQ meals we've had in a restaurant yet! So flavorful, lean yet tender cuts of meat perfectly seasoned and the sides were equally delicious. My first time at Mission BBQ. I just sunk my teeth into what might be the best brisket sandwich I have had thus far....and I didn't even get one of their signature sauces on it. Not only are these smoked meats packed with an atom bomb of flavors, it comes with a side of fresh cut fries picked from the potato patch out back. By far the best cornbread I've ever had. The bbq was good too, but the cornbread was amazing. First time there, so I don't know if they're always like this, but it was crisp on top, soft on the bottom and gooey in the center...like a brownie. So good. Meat was very tender and well prepared, the place is adorned with military memorabilia, and the staff was very friendly. The portion sizes were a bit small for my liking but i eat alot. At noon they honor the flag by playing the national anthem and everyone stops eating and stands. Everything is DELICIOUS! We had the pulled pork with fries, and the lean brisket sandwich with collard greens. The meat was delicious! Perfect smoke flavor and tender. The side portions were smaller than expected. There was a variety of sauces on the table, but I wasn't that impressed with the sauce flavors. The service is fast and I love how they honor our troops, firefighters and police officers. They also occasionally play the national anthem and everyone stops to honor it. The dining space is small and a line forms fast when they open, but people always had a seat and there wasn't a wait. Loved the industrial decor, dark wood and exposed pipes in the ceiling. My wife and I stop at Mission every time we are out that way. Usually 3 times per month. Never a bad experience but yesterday the service staff took it to a whole new level. Being my birthday I got an e mail from Mission to stop out and have a sandwich on them. Yes please. The girl who patrols the dining area brought me a blueberry cobbler and had wrote happy birthday on the brown paper. Mission BBQ is decorated in a very American/Military style (just an observation). I've been looking for some quality BBQ since moving to Pittsburgh and Mission has a good selection. The place was packed at 3:30pm on a Saturday so I can only imagine how it is during dinner or lunch. The portions weren't outrageous but I still left full. They had a nice selection of 6 different BBQ sauces at every table to try with your meal although personally I only favored 2 of the sauces. If I'm in the area I would return, though wouldn't make the trip out on a normal day since it's about 30 mins from where I live. read more

Got there right when they opened and ordered, they had a ton of catering orders that day and they were loading it all up, we thought our food would talk a while but we waited probably 5 minutes! This location just opened but things appear to be running as smooth as they do at all of the other Mission BBQ locations I've frequented. The staff was welcoming, attentive and engaging with all of the customers. Members of the management team were interacting with customers to ensure everything was perfect. I hope this becomes a routine practice versus a "just opened" activity. The food was great! I have never had a bad meal at a Mission BBQ location. The only negative comment on the entire experience is the food being served at the lower need of the warm scale. Otherwise, I am happy Mission BBQ finally opened a location within commuting distance. Really great BBQ joint in Robinson. Got the pulled chicken sandwich, mac n cheese, and cole slaw. I also got a sweet tea, which was the perfect amount of sweet for me. Chicken was super tender and they have 6 different sauces on every table to try, so there's something for everyone. The mac n cheese was baked, and I usually prefer creamy mac n cheese, but it had really great flavor. The cole slaw was my least favorite, but it was decent. You get a lot of food for the price (under $12 for my meal). The service was great - someone came by my table to see if I needed to-go containers. Dining room was also very clean.
