I got a 3 meat plate. I got pulled pork, pulled chicken, and brisket one of the cool things they offer you the fattier part of brisket or the lean. I love the fatty part. All of the meats were really good. Barbecue sauces were good as well. Wish they had a better way of showing you what sauces you can pick from hard to know which ones are available and what they happen and what they taste like also got the collard greens as a side, they were OK. I am in town and needed to grab a quick bite to eat. I saw the sign from across the street of my Hotel and decided to stop in. Let me say best choice ever for a BBQ joint. I had the Brisket sandwich lunch special, upsized to a large, and asked the brisket to be moist. The sandwich was amazing!!! I will be getting this tomorrow for lunch and the lunch special was under $20.00 bucks with a drink. From the moment we walked into the restaurant, we were impressed by the incredible hospitality of everyone who we interacted with!! Debbie took our order and was friendly and helpful (making sure to mention coming back in for Veteran's Day). Besides the brisket, (which is always awesome) we tried the turkey and jalapeño sausage. Both were delicious. We enjoyed a friendly conversation with the dining room host who checked on us several times. The atmosphere was relaxing and enjoyable. This place is an anomaly. Nowhere else can you go in thinking you're getting the Chipotle styled experience and instead every time you're still treated to some of the nicest and most attentive waitstaff. The food is all phenomenal. I don't think you'll find a better brisket for many many miles. Though Mission is and has a few chain impressions, the offset of how well the quality of the food and culture of the staff is completely shines over the feeling of it being a chain restaurant. First time here and will definitely be coming back. Some of the best BBQ I've had in awhile. Even just pulling in the parking lot parking near the smoker it smelled amazing before you even walked in. Fortunately I was with my family so between all of us I was able to sample quite a variety off the menu picking off everyone's plates. Everything from the meats to sides to the sauces was delicious. Make sure you ask for the Alabama White sauce (which was unfortunately not part of the delicious 6 pack of sauces on tables) tasted so so good with everything I dipped it. Even though we got there at the beginning of the Friday night dinner rush they moved the order line along and the food was up pretty quick. Stopped here for a carryout lunch the other day. The staff is always super friendly and welcoming. I don't know how you manage to have staff this happy and helpful but keep it up. The salmon is always my favorite especially with the Alabama white sauce. The coleslaw is delicious as well. We tried the blueberry cobbler and it was the most amazing dessert. First time I went to Mission BBQ. Went to the Sterling Heights, MI location. was welcomed by the Manager, Will. What a super nice man. He explained the concept of the restaurant and the menu. He was so informative and made me want to eat there. All employees were nice and helpful. Had the baby back ribs and mac n cheese. The mac had a very tasty top crust! The ribs were good but by friend had the brisket and that was exceptional. Your meal comes with corn bread. I am not a fan of corn bread but I really enjoyed this one. We finished with banana pudding....so fresh...so yummy. Definitely, go and see Will and the rest of the staff. Truly enjoyable people and they will make your dining experience. read more

I've eaten mission barbecues before and I have to say that this location is a huge disappointment. I ordered the brisket and it came out, totally fatty full of s And full of grizzle. It was just short of disgusting. I couldn't eat it. I was in a hurry so I grabbed my drink and left. I'll have to think twice now about trying another location in my travels. The meats are so tender! The mac and cheese and cheesy potatoes are delicious. The un-lean brisket (don't remember how they phrased it lol) is tasty but was just too greasy even with the warning. The lean brisket was fine. The turkey is flavorful, and they give you a lot! Service at every location I've been to is very nice. Ordering is fast and easy. I especially like the way they are unique in that you only get the very basics. A turkey sandwich for example is only turkey and bread but somehow it's better than other sandwiches with tons of condiments and veggies; in other words they don't need all the toppings. The cornbread is great. Ambience is pleasant. Military theme and support is very cool. Prices are very fair, inexpensive even by today's standards. I'm not sure which location I'm reviewing right now but I've been to a couple in Michigan. They were very similar in every way. Something about it makes me feel slightly heavy later, though, even if I only eat a little. But that might be just me. Long story short, I like this place a lot! read more

This is the best bbq in Michigan and the closest you'll get to Texas bbq. Right in the beginning Unique took our order and she is super pleasant and so patience with us. Good short ribs, meaty and done well. sauces on table a bit difficult to read. First time my husband hasn't finished his potato salad, just too vinegary. Cole slaw, somewhat flavorless. Lemonade was good. I think I'd carry out the ribs and buy my potato salad and Cole slaw elsewhere. Very polite and kind staff, just the sides need some work. Was great to see all the veterans dining with their families being thanked for their service by all the employees. We both ordered the combos with different choices of meats.
