Mission BBQ in Surprise is always a great experience! I usually get the 2 Meat Sampler with moist brisket and the classic sausage both are packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. The complimentary cornbread is such a nice touch, and the Memphis Belle sauce is my go-to every time. The staff are super friendly and patient, especially with first-time customers, taking the time to explain the menu and offer samples. First time customer. Ordered a brisket sandwich and ribs. The brisket was well done, dry with no taste. The sandwich comes plain nothing on it. The sauces didn't do anything to improve things. I went to Mission BBQ in Surprise an hour before closing, and even that late, the place was alive and full of energy. They had just sold out of the brisket, which clearly says everything because I was sitting close enough to hear the phone calls coming in. It was nonstop with people trying to place last-minute to-go orders, and the team had to keep breaking the bad news that the brisket was gone for the night. That's how popular it is. I had a minor issue with my order, but Dakota went absolutely above and beyond to fix it. She made sure my friend and I left completely happy, the kind of service that instantly makes you a customer for life. You can tell this team genuinely cares; they treat you like family, which is almost unheard of these days. We had the pulled pork, pulled chicken, jalapeño cheese sausage, fresh-cut fries, cornbread, seasonal baked cheesy potatoes, Granny's sweet potato mash, and caramel apple cobbler, and everything was outstanding. My favorite sauces are Memphis Belle, KC Classic, Tupelo Honey Hot, and Georgiaah Mustard, and every single one is incredible. I've had the brisket before and it's phenomenal. I can't wait to come back and have it all again. The entire staff is amazing, the food is top-notch, and it's a place that makes you feel good just being there. 10 out of 10. We're excited to have this new business in our town! The first time I went I ordered a sampler tried the sausage and the brisket ,collard greens and potato salad. The meat was very good, however the sausage was unimpressive tasted like grocery store kielbasa.. As for the sides the collard greens were far too salty to eat, the potato salad was average. On my first trip the corn bread with excellent. Today I went back for a second trip and ordered a pound of brisket and extra corn bread.The cornbread turned out the be too salty and I couldn't eat it. Brisket is very very good as are the sauces! Excellent customer service super friendly. Lastly, sineage is confusing. .It should say clearly the brisket price is per 1/2 pound, it's unclear when you look at it. read more

Ordered the black plate special which was smoked rib eye steak. It was 15.99 and I expected it to be like 2 bites at that price but they said it was 8 oz but it was bigger than that. Aside from the very cheap price it was absolutely delicious. The smoke flavor along with the perfect seasoning made this steak so good. The bad news is its only around until mid Oct. Have to give them 5 stars. BBQ is good but not amazing. But prices are fair, concept of giving back is admirable, and the deserts are really good. When you first opened, an amazing lady who was cleaning tables told us about the restaurant. She made us feel appreciated to be there. That hasn't happened since and it's a shame. read more

Love this place. Husband had moist brisket sandwich. I had half a chicken, fries, and cornbread. Everything very good. Only exception is they don't heat or grill the buns. service comes with an attitude. First time visit question the menu with side cost, it said bean cost wit brisket, asked what price was with ribs, same price . Pleasantly surprise by this chain barbecue. My experience with chain barbecue has all been very bad with the exception of maybe Rudy's. I've never been back to one except Rudy's whether it be my home state of Georgia or here in Arizona. This place actually had some good pulled pork which is my favorite barbecue Not as good as my favorite Georgia pulled pork, but It was acceptable. My wife is a chopped chicken connoisseur and she liked their chopped chicken. Their sides were pretty good too which is really rare for a barbecue chain. We tried fries, sweet potatoes, slaw baked beans, and green beans. The slice of cornbread was a nice addition too. I'm not big on brisket, but I liked the sample I had. The rib I tried was a little bit dry, but had a good taste. One thing I enjoyed was sampling their six varieties of barbecue sauce I actually liked five out of six. Prices were not cheap but fair. I usually wear my Vietnam Vets baseball cap and when I was walking up to order one of the employees took my hand and took me to a side register and said YOU don't need to wait in line. It was about 5 minutes before noon... I walk over to a table to wait for my to go order and just before I sat down the loud speaker came on and the voice said; "WILL EVERYONE PLEASE STAND FOR THE NATIONAL ANTHEM". At that point the anthem started and almost immediately everyone joined in singing. Right after it ended, my name got called out for my order and before I could even get to the door to leave SEVERAL people came up to me saying thank you for your service ! By the way... Surprise AZ location. Had hand-rubbed steak. Worst ever!! Fatty, very chewy, had to throw most away. The corn bread was dry and cold, asked for butter it was cold and wouldn't melt on cornbread. The first time i ordered the pulled pork when they first opened, it was ok. Today, i feel like i was given left overs from 3 days ago. The meat was so dry and must've reheated over and over, i had to keep drinking water after chewing it. I didn't have time to go back and exchange it so i just tossed it out. I'm so excited we have this excellent bbq joint in Surprise! The place was pretty crowded when we got there but the line moved quickly. We had an amazing girl, Saleen, at the register that helped with questions and she was so friendly! Seeing that it was our first time, we wanted to try a little bit of everything. I ordered the brisket, you get an option of "lean" or "juicy".....of course I went juicy...give me that fat and flavor! The brisket was amazing - and VERY juicy. Hubby had the baby back ribs, which he enjoyed. But the star was definitely the grilled shrimp. Shrimp were huge, cooked perfectly and the flavor was amazing! The only part we didn't care for was the sauce....we are not huge fans of the Carolina vinegar sauce. Food came out quickly, hot and delicious! We will definitely be back. Saleen also came around and asked how everything was and if we needed anything else - so nice! She was definitely a highlight as well! read more

Upon entering, was disappointed to learn there wasn't a military discounted offered. However, Dakota--the manager--provided us a free dessert and most importantly, sat down with us to explain the Veteran's VIP program. This program is like a veteran discount on steroids. Mission BBQ is incredibly fortunate to have such a committed and competent manager in Dakota. She represents everything an organization desires in its workforce. Whatever you're paying her, double it! She truly deserves it. She turned a disappointment into an excitement. Oh, by the way, the food and service were fantastic.
