So if your in York, PA it's good BBQ,. They serve a variety of choices. The fries are fresh when you order your meal. Coleslaw is lightly creamy slaw, it's served like your in Texas. The Baked beans are just a good tasting beans. The Mac n cheese is creamy. The sauces they offer are wide, Texas twang, smoky mountain, Memphis Belle is my favorite, KC Classic, Bay-B-Que, Tupelo honey heat. I'd recommend trying them all. They treat military, veterans. Mission bbq is one of my favorite bbq chains in the area. Their food is fresh never frozen and always tender and juicy with all the bbq sauce variety you could want! The food is always very good but tonight it was terribly salty. I ordered a family pack to feed my family of 5 and paid over $100. I only had two small pieces of cornbread wrapped individually in tinfoil in the bag when I got home. The cornbread is always a family favorite and you can't imagine the dilemma figuring out how to split two tiny pieces amongst five family members. The family pack was supposed to come with plates and serving utensils and did not. I'm guessing you have to ASK for that. Overall rather disappointed with one of our usual favorites. read more

You can't go wrong. Not fast food, but just as quick. Plenty of registers to order and lots of seating means no waiting at all! Lots of menu options. Everything was really good. We used to be loyal Smokey Bones fans. So much so it was our top favorite restaurant. Since trying Mission BBQ about a month ago, we can't stop going back. It's the best BBQ I've ever had. Can't have BBQ bc of sugar? All the sauce is added on after the fact by yourself so you can enjoy smoked meat without adding anything else if you'd like. Awesome barbecue, great service, and a great theme for a restaurant: they honor our armed forces, police, fire and emergency responders. Food was outstanding. I got the full rack of baby back ribs. They were super tender and fell off the bones. It was a dry rub that was very tasty but not too overwhelming. And they provide six different types of barbecue sauces (the Tupelo Honey is amazing). The mac and cheese was fantastic. Others in our party got the the pulled pork and pulled chicken sandwiches with fries. All were very pleased with their choices. One thing I wasn't expecting that I'll mention. It's not a formal sit-down restaurant with table service. It's more of a gourmet fast food format. With that being said, there are only soft drinks, and no alcoholic beverages. Another thing to note, they close at 9 (at least on weeknights), which was a bit surprising. Went to Mission BBQ with my extended family on our way home from the Baltimore airport. We were all hungry and a little cranky but excited to put ourselves into a meat coma. The place smelled great upon arrival and their menu is expansive with lots of good options. It irked me a little that my husband and I were standing at the counter with our children and no one bothered to greet us or ask if we had been there before, had any questions or offer to help us even though there seemed to be several people all standing behind the counter, just sort of standing there. We managed to place our order and get our beverage cups and squeeze through the tables that are waaaaaay too close together and we sat. And sat. And sat. Even though it was an off time, and they weren't busy, we waited about 15 minutes to be called to the counter to retrieve our orders. Once we got our food, it was excellent. I had beef brisket, pulled pork and some of the spicy cheese sausage. I loved the variety of options of sauces, including some Carolina style vinegar. There was a discernible smoke ring on the meat that I was hoping to see but the meat wasn't so smoky as to have that weird numbing effect on the tongue. The portion sizes were appropriate and I enjoyed my meal. I didn't enjoy feeling like a I was being bombarded with nationalism from every available inch of wall space. I understand the owners are vets and are proud to support our military but it was a little overkill, in my opinion. But I guess that's York County, PA. read more

Incredible BBQ is made at Mission BBQ. This place was packed for lunch. Hardly a seat available. They have pulled pork & chicken, brisket, ribs etc.. you can make a combo with sides and a soda for about 10 bucks. Great deal. You certainly get enough to fill you up. I ordered the pulled pork which was soo tender, smokey, juicy. The greens beans and BBQ beans where out of this world!! They have 6 different BBQ sauces to coat your meat with. I'm giving them a 5 star vote for their support of military and law enforcement. The ambiance is nice. Casual Americana with a nod to the military. Very cool. We were there at noon, in the process of ordering when everything stopped, everyone turned to face the flag, people put their hands over their hearts, and the anthem played. Awesome experience. The food gets four stars. I got the half pound of pulled pork. A very large portion but I hated having to pay extra for a side dish. The side dishes are not all that impressive for the price tag. Hubby got the smoked prime rib special. It was great; but, again, the piece of meat looked really sad sitting there on a plate all alone. He didn't even get the small piece of corn bread like what came with my pile of meat. Both kids got the pulled pork sandwiches - which were huge. Daughter got the coleslaw and it was about as exciting as the stuff you get at the grocery store deli. Not worth the price for the sides. My biggest complaint? The meat wasn't smoky enough. It tasted good, just not "smoked" enough for my preference. It reminded me of the stuff I pull out of my crock pot when making a pulled pork. The sauces were decent. Most people will find at least one they like. The Honey and the Smokey Mountain sauces were the ones my family found most pleasing. The Texas style would be good for brisket and the Memphis version was good, too. The big bottle of vinegar sauce needed to be shaken up but the "bar pour" spout on the top left you with two options: put your finger over the hole to turn it upside down (not very sanitary) or splash it all over the place. The staff was just about the nicest staff I've ever encountered at a restaurant like that and they seemed to genuinely like their jobs and the company they work for.
