Loaded with over a pound of meat, all the sandwiches here are amazing, savory and extremely flavorful. This restaurant was booming and lively, but we were able to get a table quickly without a reservation. Service was ok, however, I did not appreciate the waitress bringing us the check after we had just received our sandwiches and because we said we wouldn't want dessert. It felt rushed. The nachos were a bit plain but a good appetizer that was light before getting our mains. The fries were delicious, the bread was perfectly crispy, and the slaw was the perfect accompaniment. Great atmosphere. It's reminiscent of your favorite local bar, except it's a chain. Not much to order if you are vegan/ vegetarian. But if you don't pizza of fish they got you covered. The only two people I had seen do anything is the one manager guy who had brought our food. He didn't even know the bar seat numbers so we had to flag him down. I ordered my food online as was giving 45 minutes for my order to be complete. The order was 2 burgers with fries and a chicken salad. $44.33 including tip, yes a tip for take out. I wait about 30 minutes and go get my food, excited cas my food was ready but at the same time hoping it wasn't sitting long. I get back to the hotel which is literally a minute away. As I open my food I noticed it's nicely marked, meaning the burgers are easy to decipher whose who's. Yep I have one of those picky kids that only like meat and bread (a waste if you ask me). I hand out the food and here are my thoughts. The burger was cooked as I requested (well done) the taste those was bland no seasoning at all, was like the cow was jus processed, cooked and thrown on a bun!! I wasn't to upset over the bland burger cas we could add seasoning at the hotel. The major disappointment was the fries (can you say limp noodle). Undercooked and very greasy, my kids and husband love French fries but this was not it. Did I mention plain fries no salt no seasoning, jus a bowl of limp noodles I probably could of mashed and made mashed potatos. It wasn't all a waste, my chicken salad was amazing . We love their sandwiches. We revisited last weekend and tried the "If Pigs Could Fly", which is basically a fancy Club Sandwich with an egg. It was SO good. We split it. There was a time Primanti's was my lifeblood. During my senior year at Pitt, every Friday night my mates and I would hit up the Primanti's on Forbes Ave. in Oakland. This was how we would all unwind and catch up. We'd sit at the counter and chow down on these oddly beautiful conglomerations of deli meats, tomatoes, tangy slaw, and piping hot hand-cut fries. We all know the history by now - Primanti's signature sandwiches stem from their blue collar roots dating back to the 1930s in Pittsburgh's Strip District. Workers wanted a portable meal, so a sandwich and side (in this case fries) were combined into one and wrapped in newspaper. The many truck drivers passing through could then eat their meals without risking getting food all over their laps. Although Primanti's originated in PA and now has locations in seven total states ranging from the Midwest to Maryland (and two random stores in Ft. Fort Lauderdale, FL for some reason), they still haven't made their way to the eastern side of PA. The closet location to me is in Lancaster some 30 miles away. But alas, while visiting a friend who was staying in York for business, it just so happened a Primanti Brothers was virtually right next door to the hotel. Also nearby was a casino. We laughed, we cried, we ate well, we lost lots of money. A well rounded weekend if I do say so myself. I can tell you now, the highlight of the stay wasn't losing $300 at 4:00 AM at the craps table. Rather, it may have been the towering capicola & cheese at Primanti's the next day. Hangover helper, for sure. Last thing I need to say - shout out to our server. Young dude, had a rough night himself. Still was there for us when we needed him. Also recommended a little hair of the dog - in this case tequila. That actually did make me feel better for awhile. Made my afternoon nap a lot more enjoyable, too LOL. read more

Got the original reuben sandwich along with a giant $1 pickle. Pickle was good and the sandwich was decent, but its basically a reuben with some overcooked, unseasoned fries on it. I'd come back and try a different sandwich in big boy format, but I left a little bit disappointed in the original sandwich. I just feel like any deli in NY/NJ can do better than this, especially the grease trucks (now storefronts) at Rutgers that are known to stuff a fistful of fries in their sandwiches. read more

I didn't have high expectations for Primanti Bros in York. I've been to a few of the chain locations (including an original in Pittsburgh!) and knew what to expect. I took my sons on a busy Wednesday night during the Christmas season. We did not have a wait to be seated and were placed at a high top table next to the bar. What to expect? It's loud, raucous and the tables are pretty close together in the era of covid. That said, we shared a giant pretzel, which came with honey mustard and beer cheese. We expected to prefer the cheese and instead we all fought over, and devoured every drop of, the honey mustard. The pretzel itself was perfection- the right shade of dark brown and crusty on the outside, with a soft, moist, hot interior. I had a pastrami sandwich. It was built wonderfully so I had a bit of each of the numerous ingredients in every bite. For a restaurant made sandwich, that is pretty impressive and shows care. My older son had the Pittsburgher and he loved it (as he has many times before) and my younger son had a buffalo chicken sandwich. The portions were huge and delicious. Really, I can't stress enough how well made and tasty the food was in a busy chain restaurant. I wish I could remember our server's name. The bread is an inch and 1/2 thick, only 3 thin, undercooked pieces of bacon and 1 slice of American cheese. I was not offered a choice of cheese. It had absolutely no taste. None. Im very frustrated with my recent order pickup. I placed an order online for pickup at 5:30 on Sunday 22 JUN. at 5:05 I got a notification that my order was ready for pickup.. I called the location and said I was not able to get there until 5:30 which is why I placed the order for that time. The man on the phone told me that the containers you pack your food in made it so it could sit for a while.. I said, "this is almost a 20 minutes hold on my food" and he said it would be fine... I got there at 5:25 to pick up my food and My bread was soggy and the meat was cold on my sandwich. I look at the slip attached to my bag and my food had been marked complete at 4:58 which means my food sat for 30 minutes before the actually pickup time... There wasn't anyone around the pickup station, which doesn't have heat lamps or anything to help preserve the integrity of your food and the moisture inside this "special" container was disgusting... $25 down the drain. I'm furious which how my experience was-- I didn't have time to run all over your building looking for someone or wait for my food to be potentially remade-- I got it to go because I needed it on the move. read more

Really great customer service from beginning to end. My sandwich was amazing and the white sangria was pretty good too. The wings were just average mainly because the sauce made the skin very soggy.
