This was a great place. First time here and we enjoyed it. Great views of the water and plenty of parking. All the staff were very nice and helpful with the menu. Our server was very attentive with our group. The food came out and was delicious. Everyone at our table were members of the clean plate club. We will definitely be back.

Recently came here with my coworkers during my trip to Beverly and had a great experience. Restaurant is located on the water and has a lovely vibe. Food was excellent and service is very attentive. I cannot wait to come back again when weather is warmer and we can sit on the outdoor patio.

The restaurant is in a beautiful location overlooking the water. The interior has very nice small decorative details with an aquatic theme. The parking lot is small and there's another parking lot under the bridge. The staff are great and accommodating. The crispy salmon Maki has a satisfying crunch with a flavorful spicy mayo. The fried fish sandwich came with a huge piece of fish with a healthy amount of toppings. The fries itself are amazing with great seasoning and cooked very well. Overall a great experience.

My sister lives a 2 min walk from Mission Boathouse. She and her husband love their brunch and said I have to give it a try. The waterfront restaurant is located at the Beverly Pier. Very cute and bright upon entry. We walked over but there is a small lot in the front that could fit about 20ish cars. We took the elevator up to the host stand. Upon arrival we were greeted and seated promptly. We opted for the high top seats. The server came over greeted us and gave us time to look at the menu. We decided to do the bottomless brunch which is $19.99 per person (price as of 2025). We also got a bottle of champagne for $25 with small carafes of pineapple , cranberry and orange juice. The server said the champagne comes with one juice and there is an additional charge for the the other juices. My sister explained that she had never been charged for the additional juices. I think the server was trying to explain that moving forward they charge but given my sisters obvious disappointment she didn't charge us extra. For the bottomless brunch you can order up to 3 items at a time and they are delivered to the table à la carte . They also brought out home fries and foccacia for the table to share. I had the cheesy scrambled eggs, bread pudding, beef taco, fish taco ,peri peri wings, meatball parm and jalepeno cornbread. They bring out the food so fast. The portions are on the small side to help prevent waste but I enjoyed that. Three rounds and the mimosas and I was stuffed. The fish tacos were the best. I had two of them. The beef taco was tasty as well, just a tad bit too juicy for my liking. The eggs were not good at all. Even with adding salt and pepper. Whenever I get something with cheese if the cheese isn't melted I don't want it. The mozzarella cheese. sprinkled on top made me feel like the eggs werent hot. I don't even like jalenpenos but that cornbread was so flavorful and not spicy like I initially anticipated. Heavy on the jalepneo flavor but tasty nonetheless. I didn't realize peri peri sauce had a kick to it. But it was flavorful and the wings were crispy and cooked to my liking. Because two of us orders the meatball they put both in a bowl. I didn't care for the amount of sauce in the bowl and found the meatball to be flavorless. The bread pudding was decent. Overall a solid experience. The price is right, customer service good and the ambiance is very welcoming and comfy. I would definitely return.

Stopped here on a whim on our drive up to Bar Harbor. Atmosphere was great, for a 3pm lunch anyway. We got the Tuna Tartare, a spicy crunchy salmon maki roll, and a Boston maki roll. The tuna tartare is a must! I loved the spicy roll, I'm personally not a fan of cream cheese in a sushi roll but my husband loved the Boston roll. Our server was friendly and helpful, and everything came out quickly with lovely presentation.

We recently went for my sister's birthday while I was in town. The building is starting to look a bit rundown (note the missing windows above the main entrance) and there is quite a bit of staining on the ceiling, apparently from water leaks. The wait staff was great, and we all like the salad bar and the bread and cheese that you cut yourself. The entrees, however, were disappointing. The meat on three of our four orders was overcooked (my nephew's medium rare steak was burned and charred on the outside), and three of the four sides (steamed vegetables and rice) were served ice cold. I ordered the baked scallop and steak combo and the scallops were delicious, but my medium steak was well done, and my vegetables were cold. By the time they brought out replacement vegetables and rice, we were already almost halfway through our meals. I used to love coming here when I was younger when the wait staff dressed in overalls and hats like train engineers. This place definitely needs a makeover to get it back to the fine dining experience it used to be.

Someone that works there had walked past us several times, and opened the door. We wandered in, and she said the restaurant was in the basement. When we left, we saw a sign for Cellar. Not knowing the restaurant was named the Cellar, the sign wasn't clear/meaningful. Anyway, we got there eventually. The decor was pretty nice (definitely more bar than restaurant). We chose a table in a quiet corner, which was beneficial and not. The wait staff was very friendly, but we were a bit out of sight out of mind for them. All the food was great, and the cocktail was expertly made, exceeding expectations. They have popovers as the table accoutrements, which are a personal favorite of mine! As mentioned above, I'd consider this a (speakeasy decor) bar with food options, that would be a solid social/meet up spot, with great drinks.

She and much of my family really like this place and rave about it, but my overall first impression was definitely a mixed bag. My mom made the reservation for Saturday at 4:45pm in the dining room. We arrived a little early, so she showed me around the beautifully renovated building. When we checked in with someone, they redirected us to the bar area downstairs as they were holding a private event in the main dining area. Okay, not a big deal to us. However I could understand if someone else might get a little annoyed at being told they had to go to the bar area when they specifically asked for the dining room on their reservation. I have to say that I do love the downstairs bar area, it's classy and has a vintage speakeasy vibe. We were quickly greeted by one of the guys working the bar who was super nice and did a great job. For a drink I started with their version of an espresso martini, which was a good start to the food experience and gave me high hopes. They brought us out some popovers which to me were just okay. For an appetizer we got some buffalo chicken dip, which was quite delicious. For dinner my mom got a Caesar salad (which I tried a little bit of and thought was good) and a flatbread pizza that was on special. I decided to be a little bougie and went with the braised short ribs, and I regret to say that the dish fell flat for me. The short rib did come apart okay when I stuck my fork in it, but it was kind of chewy, bland and overall really didn't have much flavor. The menu also states that the short rib is served with broccolini (which is a milder, sweeter version of the green vegetable) but it came with regular plain broccoli instead, which I was also quite honestly disappointed by. With all that being said the polenta was my favorite thing on the plate. I'm a little conflicted. The place is beautiful and the staff is so nice. But with how much it was hyped up to me, I was a little let down. I'm kind of thinking that I should've went with another dish? I really want to truly love this place, so I'm sure I'll be back with family at some point to give them another chance.

The house dates back to 1668, when it was built for a wealthy sea captain and merchant. It remained in that family for three generations before it was bought by another family. The house is mostly famous for being the setting and subject of a novel by Nathaniel Hawthorne, who was a second cousin of Susannah Ingersoll, who lived in the home for years. In 1908, the home was purchased again, this time by a woman who made it her life's mission to restore the house, protect it for posterity, and to turn into a museum that could be visited by tourists to Salem. The home was renovated many times (by different owners of the house) - it didn't even always have seven gables, but that's a part of its interesting story! We learned all of the above and more from our tour guide on a guided tour of the house. Our tour guide was great - friendly, informative, and interesting! After our tour, we explored Nathaniel Hawthorne's birthplace home, which was moved to the grounds of the House of Seven Gables to avoid demolition. It was a great way to learn a little more about Hawthorne. There was also a gift shop, where my mom and I both bought copies of The House of the Seven Gables, stamped so we always remember where we bought it. Our tour was interesting, and the house is striking and fascinating. It's well worth a visit if you're exploring Salem.
