CLEAN CLOTHES (3.8 stars) I love it when my threads are cleaned and pressed! This place did not disappoint me. I've decided to try a new place closer to home for convenience, why not try a random one that I see and drive nearly everyday. Came in with 10 articles of clothing (3 blazers, 7 pants). Did a drop off on a Thursday early afternoon and was able to pick it up Monday late afternoon. Honestly, I know good dry cleaners that can turn it around faster, so I thought their turn around time was just ok. They told me to come Monday between 4-5pm, I came in at 3:15pm and they bagging up my clean clothes. Damage was $55.60 (average at $5.95 per article of clothing). Again, I know a better place with that same price or a little cheaper with faster service, so I'm going to say the price is just ok. I inspected my clothes and they cleaned everything very well. My work pants are pressed nicely with the tight crease. I'll give them a thumbs up for that. Overall, good. read more

This place usually does okay job. However, Im really disappointed at their response for not taking responsibility for their mistakes and then turning it around to me. This time they had damaged the shirt but they kept on saying the shirt was damaged before- which it is not true. When I dropped off the shirts, there was absolutely no damage. It wasn't small damages around the wrists so they should have seen it. If they did, they will make sure I know it during drop off. Also the collars inside and outside is so dark and dirty. When I pointed out, they said this was the best they were able to do. Then they were trying to make a new label and make me pay again for the job they did not fulfill. read more

Hands down the best, I mean the best cleaners in San Diego. I don't know about the experiences below but I had a great experience with this business. The woman who does the altering is by far very talented, she took care of my Burberry Jacket, tailored fit it to me. She is very upfront, and prices are very reasonable for the care and craftsmanship along with the time to make your clothes look amazing and last. I found my forever place with them, I highly recommend, very pleasant, amazing quality, great prices, and great work. Seriously this place is heaven sent and I would not go anywhere else. They take care of your clothes, very personable, and the woman is great, I told and recommended them to all my co-workers at the clinic I work in. Spread the word, keep your quality clothes longer with people who know how to clean and maintain them. Efficient and reliable, they are the few businesses who actually keep their word, when they say they'll have it done by ( whatever date) they keep that promise, that alone was very impressive. I started using this place and it was ok. Two weeks ago I got my white shirts from here to go to a Convention in Aurora, CO. once there I needed to change. I noticed that they broke a button on my white shirt. I let it go. This week I asked the guy at the counter how much it would cost to get one that shirt cleaned, he said $3 and .40 something cents. I agreed. Well, I picked up the shirt on yesterday and the shirt was $6.00. I said to the female cashier that I was told that the shirt would be $3 and .40 something cents. She said my boss did the ticket and I don't know what to tell you. I then said, well, you just lost a customer. She showed no concern, no customer service skills at all. I will take my money elsewhere where the customer is not lied to and is appreciated. I do NOT recommend this place, this is not the first time they did the bait & switch in price to me. ...went back recently for another shirt project and its pretty much the same story. The seamstress does damn fine work, and the rest of the experience is just, blah! Dude working there.....nah! Somebody needs to bring that dude a cupcake or suntin, hes just smug and emotionless and not personable in the least!! Again, the next project, although the seamstress does good work, i will be taking somewhere else, solely to not deal with that dude who needs a hug!! After a six-week fiasco w/my curtains being taken off property (when they were not supposed to be), said stolen than another story, I am wholly upset, and will never go back. The curtains were not hemmed to the length I said, and these curtains are no longer for sale at Ikea (as I explained to 3 different people), and now my curtains don't match throughout my house. I was met with attitude by the manager (not the owner) and that they wouldn't reimburse me for the curtains I had to take out of my office; they did reimburse me for the original 6 lost panels. Also, I asked for the new curtains to be hemmed free of charge, he agreed, and then I was made to pay for 1/2 today...you'd think $32 and maintaining a customer would mean more to them. I had to follow through with phone calls (3 of them) and was left in the dark for weeks (over Thanksgiving), which it should be the reverse, and one should keep customers in the loop, especially since they made the mistake/blunder. And, two of the panels have stains on them, which I don't believe were there originally. I am in a customer-based business myself, and the first rule is to make the customer valued and happy...I've taken losses and just put it towards tax write-offs. They failed 1000%. Lastly, all I got was a runaround, excuses, and dealing with too many people. I am going to a different place to see if I can have them let out, but there might not be enough, so now I probably have ruined curtains. I never had an issue until now, and it's been an unmitigated disaster. They're customer service is pathetic. read more

They shrunk my favorite sweater. I used to bring my clothes here for years but I took a break and now that I'm back, I'm very disappointed.

The people here are super nice and the prices are so much less than where I usually go (Magic Touch Cleaners). I seem to get a lot of red wine on my clothes... (weird!) They had a little trouble getting it out (Magic Touch was able to get it out the first time), but the material was different (jeans and a cotton shirt... non-dry clean stuff), so that could have been a reason. They happily redid the job and were able to get them out mostly. I'm definitely going to start going here because the prices are so great, but might take my future wine stains to Magic. read more

If you're looking for friendly or detailed -oriented service, keep hunting. The woman who typically runs the storefront here is chronically dour and argumentative. Make sure they mark ALL of your stains for cleaning, otherwise the stains will remain. Never walk out with your clothing without carefully inspecting it first, as most times they need to go back and address stains. Sometimes it's a fine dry cleaning. Other times it's not. Unfortunately I haven't found another cleaner that has a better track record, so I keep coming. I just stay vigilant and steel myself against the bad attitude of the staff. Meh. read more

I've been going here for several years, but two weeks ago I had the third, and I think last bad customer service experience at this business. Generally I never care how long it takes to get things back, but my first issue occurred when I needed an item cleaned the same day. I was told I needed to get it to them by 10, which I did. I showed up just before closing and was told my item was not ready. I told the gentleman that I didn't mind waiting a few more minutes. He huffed at me and went in the back, and packaged my item up as he brought it out. I did what I was supposed to; I still don't understand what the problem was. My second issue was the result of me having items ready for pickup, and dropping off new items without picking up the already cleaned ones. The dry cleaners was the first of several errands I needed to run; I was driving a car I couldn't lock, and didn't want to leave nice clothes just sitting there asking to be taken. The following week I took both my claim tags to the cleaner to pick-up both orders. The man brought out my most recent clothes. I told him I had more clothes that needed to be picked up. He said looked in the computer and said no. I told him I was certain that I did, and handed him the claim ticket. He insisted there were no more clothes. I asked him to please check were they would have been anyway. He checked, and there they were. No apology, nothing. Two weeks ago I went in with a bunch of my husband's pants (most of the clothes I take in are his). The man pulled them out of the bag, made a face, then dramatically extended his arm and waved them a bunch of times in the air, turning his head. Then he said, "We don't accept clothes with this much animal hair on them." I stood there not knowing what to say. He went on, unhappily, "I'll take them this time," he said. He printed my ticket and I left. We have cats. The cleaner has never said anything about hair before. It wasn't obvious to me that there was more hair than normal. Perhaps my husband was rolling around on the ground with someone's dog, I really don't know, but the tone the man used with me was completely inappropriate. The owner is always very friendly when I go in. The younger man, and the young woman are always fine. Each of my issues has occurred with the slightly older man with the facial hair. When I went in to pick-up my husbands offensive pants, the same guy was there, and was almost cheerful. I just never know if he's going to be pleasant or take out his bad day on me. I noticed some of the other comments were about alterations. My husband has had a number of uniforms altered here, and was always pleased. If I could think of a way of telling the owner about my crappy experiences, I would do that, and not write this review, but... perhaps he'll read this and have a talk with that guy. Not expecting that anyone pays attention to these reviews, I'll probably be looking for a new dry cleaner. read more

I just picked up my dry cleaning and was amazed to see a very cheap total. $1.85 per shirt...AWESOME! $3.85 per pants...AWESOME! 12 shirts and 1 pair of pants = $26.05 FANTASTIC! A shirt at Uptown Cleaners is at least $2.18 and pants are $4.85. This is my new dry cleaning place. read more

The attendant, would not let me leave my stuff there and wait till the seamstress came back, Normally they woudl not be afraid to take my clothing. I've been going to Mission Cleaners for 7 years - I'm definitely a fan! The street parking can be a little rough, but their driveway is normally available and perfect for a quick drop off or pick up. When I moved closer to Uptown Cleaners, I went there once - and only once. Their prices were so much more than Mission's! I once went to another place in Kearney Mesa near my office, but same story - so much more expensive! I'm not sure why the other reviewers are saying the customer service is bad. I've had great experiences with the front desk staff - always friendly, helpful, and honest about when my clothes will be ready. I've used the on-site alterations just to hem pants and have always been pleased. Highly recommend Mission Cleaners! read more

The few times I've been there, it's been very good. Dry cleaning is good, the alterations on my suit pants were good. Price is fine for the area. And the location is super convenient for me. Then I went to get a dress altered, and the tailor had already left (it was about 5:15pm). Fine. I ask when she'll be in tomorrow. Not until 10am. Ok, that doesn't work so when does she leave? ummm I don't know.... Does she have particular hours? whenever she's done with the day's work. HUH? I told him ok, well I'll just go somewhere else, and he said he would have her wait if I tell him when I was around. HA. Yes, I went elsewhere, a place where I get my dress back in three days. *** WARNING***Classic bait and switch tactics. I called a week prior to bringing in my alteration items. I was quoted one price and then charged another. "Another" meaning almost 2x as much as quoted. When I asked why I was being charged so much, the owner responded "the person you talked to on the phone doesn't know the prices". Keep in mind, this was my first time using this dry cleaner establishment and not once did he offer to charge me what was actually quoted. He made me feel like it was my fault I was charged extra. All and all, I will not be returning here. If this business actually had competent people running it, they might get more business and have satisfied clientele. I love getting my clothes altered here! Since I am a height-challenged chick, I do need to get a numerous amounts of my clothes shortened or taken-in. The seamtress there is very nice and is willing to figure out a solution to any sewing dilemma you may have. She does an awesome job! Their prices are also reasonable! Convenience definitely plays a part in my four star rating here, although I went in with my suit one day to get dry cleaned, naturally, thats what they do and the guy proceeded to tell me that they might not be able to get my suit clean because it had a water stain on it.... ok, this struck me as odd seeing as how ten mins prior I did what everyone does, licks their finger and rubs the spot to see if it will come out easy. Nature's miracle, it did! If my spit can take a spot out, I think dry cleaning can do much more! Otherwise, I am usually pretty satisfied with the cleanings here. Sometimes they aren't the best place to get a stain out... and thats why I usually dry clean stuff. read more

Had been going here for over 6 years. Yes they are cheap, and yes they are fast. Lately though, the quality has been less and less. My pants started coming back with "railroad tracks" - you know the double crease. It has happened several times now, and it shouldn't. The thing that really did me in was with the last batch of clothes we had cleaned and pressed, someone did something unthinkable in the dry cleaning business. They actually cut the pockets of an Ann Taylor suit that were sewn shut, so that they could press the pants. Who cuts open a pocket that was purposely stiched down? I am looking for a new cleaner in Hillcrest or UH. I am really disappointed. read more

I have to say, I was very dissapointed with the quality of dry cleaning. Which is a bummer because the location is convenient, the attendant that helped me during drop off was great and they use enviromentally friendly cleaning agents. When I dropped off my goods, I asked to have special attention paid to some stains that were on one of mmy garmets. I was told it wouldn't be a problem. When I came back. No one told me the stains were still there. My dissapointment comes from the fact that I was able to remove the stains myself using a stain remover. I guess I just expect more from a dry cleaning business that charges more for services. I reccomend taking your dry cleaning else where! read more

This place is good. They have really reasonable prices and are always very friendly. You can usually find a parking spot right out front. I especially like the seamstress. I have had many pairs of pants and jeans hemmed and she always does a fabulous job. She even figured out how to alter a football jersey for my boyfriend. read more

I'm sad to write this review because this place is close to my house. I noticed that I was being charged for extra items. I asked that the bill be adjusted to accurately reflect what was washed. It took 5 times to get my bill correct. I kept being charged extra things such a "dress with beads" yet my dresses did not have beads or require additional care/expense etc. My bill went from $78 to $64 to $45 and finally down to the accurate amount of $35!!!! I was initially being charged for more then twice the accurate amount. The guy working was frustrated with me every time I looked back at the printout and corrected him (again). I honestly don't feel this is an honest mistake and this is too many mistakes in one encounter for me to trust this business. If you choose to go here CHECK YOUR PRINTOUT AND BILL FOR EXTRA ITEMS AMD WORDING THAT ADDS ADDITIONAL EXPENSE TO YOUR BILL! I put a picture of a few of the printouts. read more

I am a fan and would love to give them more stars - quality dry cleaning and pressing, laundered shirts are done to my liking, friendly staff. Who uses a dry cleaners? Mostly professionals, right. So my troubles with this place are related to their hours. Who are they catering to by only opening at 8am and closing at 5:30pm - so they are open on Saturdays. the line on Saturdays is usually long. I'm guessing because all the professionals can't get there before they close! If I could find equally good performance with better hours I'd change in a heartbeat! read more

We have to dry clean our clothes a lot so we did some research on pricing. We switched from Ogden's to Mission because we are saving 25% and our clothes came out much better. They have new equipment and cleaning there is done in-house. I highly recommend them! If you value your clothes, DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE! I do not buy cheap clothing. Two shirts from Nordstrom, one store brand, one BOSS - both returned to me with holes in the same spot on the left forearm near the elbow. Both shirts well under a year old. I work a desk job and non of my other shirts, of various ages - some older, show any signs of any sort of wear. The holes are suspiciously similar - a horizontal slice perpendicular to the arm of about an inch long. There was some shenanigans around the second shirt shirt. It was held back for a "stain" that I did not report when I came to pick up my batch of drycleaning - this being the 1.5 y/o Hugo Boss Slim-fit Nordstrom shirt (non-factory outlet purchase). When I dropped off my next batch of dry cleaning and picked the shirt up, the worker just casually handed me the shirt, as is nothing was the matter with it. When I saw and mentioned the hole - again - casually - "it must have been wear." On a shirt that young and on no other shirts in my wardrobe? None... and I have 10 year old shirts... I also had a jacked dry cleaned that the zipper stuck the very first time I put it on. Again - it was the age of the garment and not their fault. Well that time I argued and they finally put a new zipper on it - which they should have just done in the first place - Jeez, a 50 cent zipper - it's like pulling teeth with these people. The customer service is horrible - the customer is always wrong. If you don't care about your clothes, your clothes are cheap, you don't mind replacing them, and you want a low cost dry cleaners - by all means - drop your junk off there... Parking is always a problem. read more

As a two year customer of Mission Cleaners, I can say that I trust them with my clothes, delicates and all alterations. The service is professional and cordial. If you are not 100% satisfied they will correct the problem right away. Prices? Reasonable. Hours? 7AM to 6PM. The store is closed on Sundays. read more

Eli isn't quick to grin but he's actually very sweet. And his ' customer service / solution to my concern ' was swift and without any additional fee. Ta-Eko ( I hope I spelled her name correctly ) hemmed five pair of pants and the chalk marks were still visible when I was handed the pants. Eli quickly said he'd dry-clean them and asked me to return the following day. I did return and am very pleased! The hems look awesome! This just might become my favorite dry cleaner. The cleaning is pretty good and I like that they can turn it around in 24 hours, but that's about the end of whats good about this place. I live 1/2 block away so you would think it would be my go to dry-cleaner and it would be but for the annoying encounters I have with the guy who is always manning the front. I feel like every time I go in there he treats me like he's doing me a favor charging me $5 to clean a blouse. And there's usually this awkward moment when I'm trying to explain that there's a little stain here or there, or I want a crease or whatever where he just looks at my blankly, takes the clothes and puts them aside. I'm not a dry cleaning expert as I don't dry clean much (like 2-3 times a year) but I might start a bit more after coming here. They were very courteous, timely, and relatively inexpensive. I successfully dry cleaned 7 items (2 coats, 2 blazers, 1 jacket, 1 silk dress, 1 classic little black dress) and it came to only $32! Score! read more
