We had an "old school" garage door system by the name of "Genie" that finally died on us. One year ago, we had to go on "You Tube" to learn how to figurate a garage door opener that we had to order on eBay. It was so old; maybe late 80's. The original remote was lost and we were tired of always closing the garage from the inside. After we got the temp remote on eBay, it came in handy, but at times, we would misplace from time to time. Knowing that people steal garage remotes from your car, I always felt nervous having one in the car or let alone in a stroller! Anyhow, it was definitely time for a new up-to-date garage door system so my hubby found "Pablo" AKA as "Paul" on Yelp! He was very helpful over the phone (don't let his accent intimidate you ;) He came the next day and gave us some recommendations and within a few hours, we were all set up & ready to go! We can now open and close with our iPhones and close it when we go outside for walks and it's super quiet and safe. I feel much more safe going out not worrying about losing a stupid garage remote ! Our old garage door system was so loud! Now, you can't even hear it, it so nice! I don't trust garage door openers as my father once left his car door unlocked and thieves stole the remote and robbed his garage at 3 am. He woke up to them running away with valuables. Anyhow, long story short. Pablo (Paul) was super friendly, intuitive & so helpful ! He even helped us fix a gate lock issue that we couldn't do on our own. I spent $8,000 on 4 garage doors. Install went well. Seemed like a nice guy when he was taking my money. However 3 months later one of the doors failed. One of his employees didn't tighten the bolt that holds the tension in the spring and it gave way. He blamed it on the fact that the door didn't have an opener on it and said he would have to charge me for the repairs. So much for good workmanship. I wouldn't trust anyone that's just interested in making money and not good relations. A friend of mine sent his guy out to repair the door. Took him 20 minutes and didn't charge me. They are responsive, know exactly what is needed to repair your problem, will offer suggestions and the pricing is reasonable and competitive. We returned from an errand and tried to open our automatic garage door when the mechanism broke leaving the door partially open and crooked and it would not go up or down. It appeared the cable on one side broke. Paul came on a weekend right on time and fixed it, made suggestions regarding how to adjust it so it closed flush with the garage floor and he made those adjustments.
