Had a terrible experience today. I had been talking to a salesman and confirmed twice before heading to the dealership from Manteca. We arrived and he wasnt prepared for us at all even though he knew we were coming. Walked us all over and couldn't find the crv we wanted. We spent over 45 waiting for him to figure out that the car had sold that morning and told us sometimes they "hide" them. I was really excited to look at a few hondas today, but sadly it ended poorly. I walked in and asked to look at a few honda SI's that had been on the website and the two men just laughed and said they have none in stock and they are not very common. I was quite unhappy with the excuses they made and told me that it is not a common car to come across. I used to have a VW and used the dealership down the street from Mistlin. Mistlin has me very much missing my VW dealership. So after reading the negative reviews, I was fully prepared to have a horrible experience trying to help my friend get her warranty cancelled. So many reviews stated that they were just out to get the initial sale and completely unhelpful with issues afterward, but I found the opposite to be true. I wish I'd gotten their names, but the salesman who approached to see what we needed was very helpful even though it was clear we weren't there to buy anything and the finance manager who helped us -again didn't catch his name, but not Nick as that was the FM who initially helped her- (has family in Ripon) he of course tried to get us not to cancel and explained the consequences thoroughly, but was not pushy or aggressive. To his credit, nothing would have changed her mind & he could've been a jerk about it, but was not. In sales, especially auto sales as I used to be a "special finance manager ;)" and funding clerk and can attest, people sometimes are unhappy or have buyers remorse then blame the sales people for their own lack of understanding or flat out refusal of advice & both sides of the story don't get told. Don't get me wrong, used car salesman didn't earn that affectionate connotation to their title by being the most forthright or trustworthy people, but I truly felt like that was not the case here @ Honda. After my experience today, I would comfortably recommend this dealership and will be stopping by there in a few months once my kid is licensed & legally able to terrorize people on the road lol read more

This place is the worst. Plan on at least an extra hour or more whenever they give you an ETA for anything; oil changes, tire rotations, etc. It happens to me every time I go there. I have had crap customer service in their service department, yet I thought I'd give them a shot when searching for a car. Yet again, crap customer service. The place was a virtual ghost town. We had a few questions on a car, and it was nothing but crickets and hot sun to greet us. Anyhow I purchased a Honda elsewhere, but decided yet again (I'm sooo glutton for punishment.) to give their service department a shot. GRRR!!! Unfortunately I work in between where I purchased the car and where I live. So Mistlin cannot drop me off at work, whatever. They also need "a few hours" to listen to the rattle in my back hatch, fine. They don't have "people who fix rattles" working on weekends, this was per the man on the other end of the phone. Ok. So remind me again what you do do there??!? Other than change oil and act like a complete jackass to customers?!!? All between the hours of like 9-5, again according to the jackass on the phone. Ah that's right nothing! I'd rather PAY to take my car elsewhere, even though it's under warranty. I have bought 3 cars from this dealer, my mom also bought a car, and my grandma on different occassions. Depending who you get will make the difference in the customer service. But thats expected like any place. JUST DONT GO THERE FOR SERVICE. The simplest things turn into a nightmere... and people love to point fingers in all sorts of directions. This isnt just in reference to my multiple years of trying to use their department but also from others experiences. They act like customers dont pay their wages. Unlike our past Honda dealer, this one didn't require an appointment for a maintenance work, at least for an A1,6. They told us to just get there before 4:30 p.m. We drove in, they gave our car a number and said they might probably be done in half an hour. We looked around the showroom; used their bathroom; the kids played in their toy room; and before we even finished our cup of coffee, the car was ready. The mechanics were also helpful with some questions we had about the work. Looks like this will be the place our cars will go to for their regular check-ups. So far, so good! read more

This place is truly an embarrassment to Honda salesmen. I would 100% recommend you go to Tracy, Stockton, Livermore or Merced at any and all costs. 1st let me say I introduced myself as a veteran of the car business and that I literally just quit the business 2 months ago and that I would be trading in my Lexus lease for a Honda, while I finished my undergrad at CSUStan. OK so here's what happened: 1) The first sales person, Sam, I spoke with didn't know anything about colors, options, features etc etc. Needless to say I knew more about both the Civic and Accord than he did. 2) When I told him exactly what I wanted and that I wanted to sit down and talk about a lease, he froze, got flustered and handed me over to another salesperson without introducing who he was or what he did. 3) That guy turned out to be the internet manager, Henry, but he didn't know much either. I didn't want to get into it with them so I just went along with their rhetoric about how his real invoice is xyz and so forth. 4) He then proceeded to give me a lease quote of 655 dollars on a 24k dollar Honda accord. I said, "something is wrong that doesn't sound right", he then looks at me and says, "I know what I'm doing, I've been doing this a long time". LOL well I happened to look at his computer screen and walked him through how to fix it, where in turn, the payment dropped to 329 dollars. I know people don't like being corrected or told what to do but I kid you not, when I say I worked in the car biz, I worked for a car dealership and over 90% of the business were leases annnnnnd I'm also a business major! I know how leases, residuals, and money factors work. Anyway, before we could get to the Civic lease, he interrupts me and says, " I have to go to a meeting", me "can someone else help me?", him "no not really, you can wait around a lil but I have to go". I looked at him and was like are you freaking kidding me right now? I really couldn't believe he was going to let a customer go. I just called Tracy as I pulled out of the parking and the Internet manager texted me a decent deal so I'm gonna go over there and check it out. This place sucks. You can try to buy a car here but don't act like you have a brain cell, because I don't think they know how to deal with educated people. read more

I walked around the dealership for about 30 minutes while my car was being serviced to see if anyone will approach me...none had done so therefore I got in my car after it was done and left. Mistlin mis-diagnosed the noise coming from my 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid serpentine belt area. They replaced the wrong part, the idler pulley, and delivered the car back to me with SAME NOISE. They said my AC compressor was the culprit. The only reason they get one star is because they refunded me some labor cost, thanks to Randy, the service manager. It's obvious this is a "factory" operation, where rookie mechanics are pressured to complete work like automatons, never using the correct tools or performing critical thinking. They should have used a mechanic's stethoscope to isolate the source of the noise. Guess it's human nature to rush, make mistakes, then pass the buck onto someone else. Where was the manager of quality assurance? Now we must identify another mechanic to do the work, since our trust has been broken, not only with Mistlin Honda, but with the Honda Corporation. I got charged $200 plus $120 for a rental car. Add this to the four days of delay on our trip, and we feel like we got bamboozled. read more

I brought my 2013 Crosstour in for a transmission leak and a hatchback that wouldn't open. I arrived at 7:10 a.m. and both problems weren't taken care of when I came to pick the car up at 4:45 p.m. The service technician was rude and didn't really care that I was inconvenienced. On a search for a minivan...I placed a search on Edmunds.com for price quotes on a Honda Odyssey. Within seconds(literally), Henry Rodriguez contacted me and gave me a quote on the vehicle. I was given other quotes from other dealerships and Henry did his best to give me the price I had wanted and matched the offers I was getting from the other Honda dealers. Price was negotiated before we got in the showroom. Once there, we discussed financing and within 2 hours I came home with my brand new van. Even better, a day after I bought my vehicle Henry checked up on my purchase and offer to give me a new battery free of charge since my car had been in the showroom for a couple of weeks. I've been coming here for 5 years with my 98 Honda CRV. I've come here off and on for maintenance and oil changes. I like the shuttle service and customer service, but sometimes when I get in my car after they work on it there are screws laying on the seat, or yesterday there were two plastic things on my dash and then when I went to put something away in my glove compartment the whole thing opened, figured out where those two plastic things went. My Husband wanted me to call and complain, but I'm not a complainer. He fixed it himself but just makes me think, why can't they finish up the job? Double check to make sure everything is put away before saying the car is ready.. Maybe some of the mechanic's don't care that a car is returned to someone like that.. Seems to me, like everyone should be on the same page with customer service. I brought in a coupon that Mistiln sent to me via email, and Jason said he would get me a better coupon, wish the people that worked on my car gave it back to me better than it came. Brought my car in for a 20,000 mile service 6/112016.Thought everything was ok till my road trip the next day. The technician didn't tighten the bolt for an aluminum cover. Started dragging going down the highway. Had to stop at a shop to have it removed. A real big inconvenience!!! Will not be returning for any future services needed. 90 minutes for an oil change even though they said "under an hour." Poor customer service. Tried to get a quote for a "B4" service code and it took 3 guys to give me an estimate. They initially said it was $299 for the service, but upon further inquiry I learned that a timing belt, water pump, plug change, and valve adjustment service was not included in the quote --- even though Honda service manual requires it. Background: this was my first brand new car purchase at a dealership. That being said I did a lot of research to understand how I can negotiate the best price. Experience: I test drove the car (2019 Honda Civic Hatchback) both the LX and sport trim model to see what I preferred at this dealership. I didn't speak about pricing for the car that day because I didn't want to spend hours at the dealership and I needed to decide what I really needed. So I went home and called the dealership and asked to speak to the internet sales manager. That brought me to Tomas Perez and we were able to chat over text. I asked him for various information and he was able to provide that along with lowering the initial price offer. Ofocurse I shopped around with other dealerships and Tomas was able to provide a competitive offer. I'm always wanting to keep my business local and he was able to offer a price I was satisfied with. He was super responsive over text and provided the various documents I needed so all I had to do was show up to the dealership to get paperwork etc. I financed my car with a bank and him and Norberto were able to help me get the documents I needed! Which helped relieved the stress I was experiencing due to my bank. Regardless Tomas has been extremely responsive with my questions/concerns throughout my whole process of negotiating and purchasing the car. If I have any future concerns about my car I feel confident in reaching out to him. I would highly recommend working with Tomas Perez at this dealership. We started out dealing with Americo who seemed to care less about selling a new Accord.
