    I brought my car in for repairs. I picked it up and apparently they ate Panda Express and Drank Star Bucks Threw the napkins,trash and garbage on the floor for me to clean up. If you're going to eat and drink in my car while servicing it. Please clean up after yourself!

    Transmission fluid overlooked in $250 "thorough inspection"

    I recently bought a Honda Fit with low miles here in Modesto and wanted Honda themselves to do an inspection before purchase. My fiancée brought the car to Mistlin Honda, and they came back with a list: front brake pads, a cabin filter, and "significant" rust. Naturally, the rust comment raised concerns, but when the dealer went to Honda to double-check, suddenly it "wasn't significant." Whatever--we paid the $250 for the inspection and left. The dealer replaced the brakes before I bought it, and I handled the air filters myself. Fast forward: a week ago, the oil change light comes on. Strange, since Mistlin had just "signed off" that all fluids were fine. I commute daily, so I took it in for an oil change and also requested a transmission flush because there was no service history. At Midas, they showed me the transmission fluid that came out--black, burnt, and foul-smelling. In other words, clearly never serviced and obviously not checked during the $250 "thorough inspection" Honda claimed they performed. I even brought the burnt fluid back to Mistlin, and they admitted it had never been changed. The service advisor's response? "Sorry man, I didn't help your fiancée." No attempt to make it right, no manager called over--just a shrug. This was my first and last time trusting Mistlin Honda. I wanted to give them a chance, but if this is how they "inspect" cars and treat a first time customer, I'll take my business elsewhere.

    I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. We took our car here back in May to have work done on the fuel pump due to a recall, the following week our car started having a laggy feeling when stepping on the gas. About a week after that the car would start misfiring and go completely into limp mode. So we contact Honda and they have us bring it back in. They "diagnose" our vehicle saying it needs a new turbocharger and quote us $2,300 for replacement. We trusted them that this was the issue. It took us a month to save up the money. We bring it back to replace the turbo and not even 5 hours after picking up the car it starts doing the same exact thing. It sputtered and went into limp mode while I was getting on the highway almost causing me to get rear ended. This happened on a Friday evening so we had to wait till the following Monday to take it back in. Sam Galvan and the service manager Jason both continued to tell us that there is nothing wrong with our vehicle, after having it for 6 hours that day we left with no answers/solutions to our initial problems. They even said they drove it to Enoch's HS and back and still no misfiring/lag was noticed by them. Not even 3 minutes after we pull out of their lot the car starts misfiring again. They also mentioned it needed an oil change so we did that at SpeeDee and the problem still remains. Today we take it to O'Reilly's to diagnose again and code P0303 pops up saying cylinder 3 misfire detected. As mentioned our car had no noticeable issues prior to taking it in for the recall. Even if we did need the new turbo charger based on "how many miles" are on the car and their diagnose, why can't they figure out what is actually wrong with our vehicle after having it in their shop 3 different times. In total we paid them $2,409.90. And the initial problem is still happening. Photos did not post in order for some reason. But dates are shown.

    I went for an inspection. I came out with a scratch. The man didn't budge when I told him they told me my battery was no good. It was a brand new battery, then they come out and say, oh yeah, your battery's good. We tested it.

From the beginning, I clearly stated that I was already approved through my credit union and only needed the dealership to submit the buyer's order through CUDL. Instead of cooperating with that process, I was repeatedly pushed to fill out their internal credit application and use their financing options. Even after explaining multiple times that I did not want to run my credit again, I was told it was "required" or "the only way" to proceed, which was later contradicted by my lender's instructions. I also requested real photos of the specific truck I was interested in on three separate occasions because the listing only showed generic stock images online. I never received clear or direct photos of the actual vehicle, which made it difficult to confidently evaluate what was being sold. Overall, communication felt inconsistent and disorganized, and it seemed like the goal was to shift me away from my approved financing and into their financing at a higher payment and rate rather than follow my lender's process. Because of the lack of transparency and clear information, I ultimately chose to walk away from the deal. I would strongly recommend future buyers confirm financing processes in writing and request actual vehicle photos before spending time at this dealership.

The manager says the mechanics dont get there until 8. Im sorry, why do you have 7 am appointments if there is no one available. I sighed ‍, i was already here let just gets this done. Apparently appointments are only to put you above walk-in not to be seen at that time. It was going to be charged over $200 just for diagnostic. I am on a tight budget but told myself going directly to a dealership would be better so just do it. After the 3rd hour waiting I asked what was the status of my car. I had to be somewhere else at 10.30. They said they didnt know. They did offer to drop me off where I needed to go, so that part was nice but I couldnt just leave my car. So I said I'll just wait. At hour 4 I was so frustrated. I go up to the front desk and they dont even acknowledge me. He finally speaks to me and doesn't tell me what's wrong with my car but tells me the parts won't be there by Friday and its going to cost thousands. At this point I am physically shaking and trying not to start crying because I was there for over 4 hours!. I just asked to get my keys back, I just wanted to leave. The staff member then says to me "what are you going to do it yourself" wow, just wow!!. I repeated can I just get my car back. I would like to leave. Mind you im not being rude or aggressive but was trying to keep it together. He finally saw that I was about to start crying so he just said to wait outside for my car. Once inside my car, I just cried. Over 4 hours for nothing. Its shocking that there is no more bad reviews on their time management. I can't be the only one they've done this too.

Since these two lots supposedly belong to the same people as the Volkswagen dealer, it will be convenient to return the car to the VW dealer and shop the two lots. I spent some time at the lot next to the VW/Hyundai dealer and no one came to see me. That's odd. I've been to car lots where I would only be halfway out of my car and someone would be there to greet me. In any case, prices are clearly marked. Some of the cars are previous rentals, so they should have had all scheduled maintenance. They list which cars were rentals on the web site but not on the price listing. The other lot, next to the Nissan and Dodge dealers is somewhat mixed with the new vehicles and it's a bit confusing what is used (excuse me, pre-owned) and what is new. On a previous visit, a salesperson was quite helpful. This time, a salesperson stared a me, as if to figure out whether I had money or not, and then, went about his business without a word to me. I really don't want to buy a car now, but the mess is forcing this. If the sales people don't want to bother, what incentive do I have to shop there?

A 1997 SC2 with 111K on it and 1998 SL1 with 137K on it. Let's start with the basics. Doran the owner lives and breathes Saturn's (Saturn's are what he sells) He does more than just inspect them for resale. He goes through them completely and then sends them out to a reputable shop to have the mechanics looked over and makes all necessary repairs. He's a family guy. We bought these two cars for our two teenagers and he swore to us that he wouldn't sell something he wouldn't let his own kids drive or ride in. That's the type of guarantee we were looking for as parents. The cars both run and look terrific!!! I made an appointment to see the cars and he made sure they were freshly washed and presentable before I got there. I had to beg the dealership I bought a minivan from to wash the dam thing before I drove it home. If you have a problem with it down the line, call him first and he'll attempt to repair it first. Since he is a true Saturn aficionado, I find that to be the best warranty ever for a used vehicle purchase. I ran Carfax's on both vehicles and everything he said checked out and he did not misrepresent a single thing. Both vehicles had clean title no accidents. I can't recommend Ott's Auto Sales enough. The money we had to spend went a long way and I feel confident that we spent our money wisely.
