    BLT Sandwich
    Alex K.

There's a lot of hype around Mitchell's but as a sandwich connoisseur from the land of sandwiches, I thought it was just ok. There weren't as many offerings as I hoped. And most were subpar looking. I ended up with a BLT that had ok bread (it was a bit tough) and bacon that was overcooked. It was a fine lunch in a quick pinch, but I don't think I'll return. The staff was really nice, and the inside was fine. I was surprised to see how much seating they had inside available.

Friendly service Rueben was quite good. Sauerkraut was mild. Rye bread not too heavy in caraway. Sauce was good. Potato salad good. Very smoky Brisket sandwich was good. A little heat but not overpowering. Pasta salad was ok. No sugar free soda on the fountain. Good thing I like unsweetened iced tea. Would've like a heads up before purchasing. Sides were quite pricey. Parking is a challenge

    The Italian Sandwich

Walked in after a day out on the golf course my fiancé, craving a crisp sandwich. I ordered the Turkey Avocado, he got the Italian sandwich. What I did not realize while I sat and waited for my sando, is that I had in fact ordered...a hot sandwich. After taking a bite and being unpleasantly surprised by the temperature (warm mayo isn't my thing and I was just craving that crisp cool fresh perfect sandwich after a day out in the hot sun) I brought it back and explained my conundrum- "no where on the menu did it say anything about hot?! Could I please have it cold?" Staff member took it back, completely understanding and promised to have a cold sandwich out soon. It was delivered just a few short minutes later and truly was the perfect lunch after a long day out in the hot sun. Customers service and food were on point, busy and not the best parking situation but definitely the place to go if you need a satisfying sandwich.

Delicious no nonsense bagel and coffee. Service is quick and efficient. Order at the counter and they'll call your name. Grab some to go items from the cooler for later. The only downside is the parking lot is small, but there's street parking available.

Came here back in September, as recommended by Jordy Searcy, and had a FABULOUS experience. The service was excellent, I enjoyed the friendly and kind staff. My sandwich (the Turkey Brie) was one of the best I've ever had! The bread was delectable, just perfect. A nice little place with indoor and outdoor seating. I can't wait to go back!!

Excellent sandwich shop that fits right into the aesthetics and vibe of east Nashville. It sits in a very neat house-like building and is packed full of people which is impressive. Very quick service even with how busy they are. The reuben sandwich was fantastic. There's like 10 other sandwiches I would like to try

This spot is awesome, would highly recommend. It was hard to choose which option to go with but I feel like any option you go with will be great!

10/10 recommend this place! The Caprese and Beef Brisket sandwiches tasted fresh, and had great flavor. There was no line to order and we came right before 12. Although there was a little wait for the food because the seating area was nearly full and the parking lot was full too. This place also sells canned goods, refrigerated meats and pasta and other goodies like accessories and clothing.

I ordered the Chicken Parmesan sub, and it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The chicken was super tender, packed with flavor, and the sandwich was huge. I only made it through half and ended up eating the rest later that night. It was just as good the second time around. My wife had the Spicy Italian, and she loved it. The sweet pickles on it really made the sandwich stand out and gave it an awesome flavor. The atmosphere was really cool and felt very authentic. They also have a grocery section where you can buy authentic Italian sauces, pasta noodles, and other items, which was a nice touch. The only thing that surprised us was the fountain drinks being $5 each, but they do come in a souvenir cup. If you're looking for an amazing sub sandwich, I highly recommend Little Hats. The food was fantastic, the staff was friendly, and Germantown itself is a great area to walk around and explore. There are tons of cool places nearby. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Nashville. I'd give this a 5 out of 5 stars.

The parking lot was crowded when we pulled up and there is a number you have to call to register your vehicle or else it could get towed. We found this info on a sign inside while waiting in line to order. The menu had so many good options, but I was in the mood for a sandwich, so the Spicy Italian is what I got. We got a number and had no problem finding an indoor table as it was hot out. The outdoor patio is very large though and this place can hold a lot of people. The food came out in 10 minutes or so and the fontina cheese went well with the spicy cherry peppers, which were unique to this sandwich. It also came with some potato salad. There was a self serve water station and you bus yourself.

I am absolutely sure that in the hour my friend and I were waiting, six other other customers were seated ahead of us. Standing for an hour is okay but only if they're actually taking the customers in order. But then we were seated and with the small menu, I was able to order. A few minutes later, Big Al shouts, "Does anyone want a cinnamon bun?" and I have never been closer to taking a walk from my keto diet. But I was good and only drooled a little watching the couple sitting next to us split theirs. It smelled so good. Brunch arrived and we've now been at Big Al's for 90 minutes. I had selected the day's special, the FOUR egg steak omelet which I had with peppers and onions *filled* the plate. Sloppy and tasty and loaded with probably half a pound of sliced steak. I only took one small bit of my biscuit - fluffy and light but heavy and dense. Delicious. My friend had a concoction that I can only call The Coronary Plate: Fried eggs, fried potatoes, fried chicken. Half of a fried chicken that looked better than anything I've ever seen at KFC or Popeye's or my own beloved Bojangles. Crispy, slightly burned but a light batter and a juicy center. Yeah, get that. Big Al's is an anachronism. The food is cooked by hand, it's delicious and it stands halfway down the block of a completely residential neighborhood. You'll be driving the last couple of blocks and wondering, what am I getting in to? Trust me, they're probably open. Pro tip: Try the gravy. It's spicy! We were told the chalkboard has the specials, and shrimp and grits are available on the weekends. I loved my shrimps and grits. The grits were so hearty and buttery, and the shrimp had a good amount of spice. We also got the sweet potato chorizo hash, which had the perfect amount of slight heat and special spice blend. (The spices looked red, but I don't know what they were other than paprika??) Both dishes came with biscuits, generously buttered. We were told the biscuits and gravy were special, because the chef does a brown gravy instead of the white gravy. We felt like we had enough food, but if I am ever back in town, I'd try this dish.
