Salad never tasted so good. I went here for a business lunch recently and was really impressed with how great the salads here taste. You can build your own bowl ala Chipotle or just go with a pre-selection. I decided to go with a pre-selection since I'm not used to really building a salad. I had The Bachelor: mixt greens, arugula, grilled flat iron steak, blue cheese, herb roasted potatoes, cherry tomatoes, savory herbs, balsamic vinaigrette, topped with caramelized onions and breadcrumbs. It's a ton of ingredients but it was SO GOOD. The steak was excellent and it honestly tasted like a delicious steak sandwich minus the bread. The indoor dining areas are beautiful. I'm sure I probably ate even more calories than if I would've hit a regular restaurant, but it was so worth it. I'll be back. Come to Florida. read more

My favorite go to spot for healthy and hearty salads. Such a gem during the pandemic to be able to order online and pickup from location with contactless pickup area before strolling a few blocks to Dolores Park to enjoy. My favorite salad is called "the Bachelor" and includes tri-tip, caramelized onions, tossed with mixt green, bread crumb "crunch" like-croutons, and gorgonzola blue cheese. Portions are nice and the balsamic vinaigrette dressing they use is delicious in moderation. I like that they ask how much you would like when ordering in person, and take away includes dressing on the side to keep greens crisp. The MIXT is a new salad bar in the heart of the Mission were "La Rondalla" used to be. La Rondalla was one of best places in the mission. Had great Mexican food and the best drinks made by experienced and loving bartenders Amadito one of the most known iconic Bartenders here in the Mission. But gentrification got the best of many small Mom' and Pop's businesses that contributed to the cultural richness of the mission. Now in it's place is The Mixt a place where you can get a salad for 13 +2 dollars tax. I asked the cashier about the 2 tax and she responded it was a SF mandate. Not bad she was polite., and I have no issue paying for that. But You'll never know how a place actually contributes to the neighborhood and it's people, until you have a 10 month old baby with a dirty diaper. After I paid I was walking towards the bathroom and the employees rudely said I was not allowed. I asked for my money feeling upset and left the place with a crying baby and a hungry stomach. Now I wonder, how is gentrification good for our neighborhoods? They bring higher prices and expect people to pay but in exchange bring little to nothing to it's enrich the neighborhood. Valencia Businesses should know that are surrounded by families with low to middle incomes and children with dirty diapers. read more

I order Caesar salads from here a few times a week and am very happy. Be sure to ask for a reusable container from Dispatch. You just give it back in their little Dispatch bin when you're done. I had a business lunch with a colleague at Mixt and was very happy with the meal, the vibe, and the setting. The menu had so many options, but I went simple and ordered a custom salad. The ingredients were fresh, well-prepared, and delicious. No Sysco canned black olives on my salad; plenty of fresh, flavorful greens, seeds, and vegetables! There's an area with high top tables in the front, but I discovered the funky cool little lounge area at the back, and it was perfect for my business lunch. Used to be really impressed by this place but now that I've been getting things like cold and mushy "crispy" chicken or 1 piece of avocado per salad, that good feeling has turned into disappointment. This may or may not have to with how staff is flinging the food into the bowl and whatever lands into it and doesn't bounce out is what you get. They've also been overcharging me by from 20-30% percent (ie. $16 or $13 for an $11 salad) recently and the feeling sucks. read more

I order from MIXT all the time, and I'm sorry to say that it is not worth it to order delivery through their partnership services. I rarely receive my order in its entirety and in some cases, not at all. Don't rely on this for a fast lunch option through delivery, and be prepared to part with over $20 whether they get it right or not. read more

I love this location! It has saved me many a time when I am too lazy to cook dinner. The spot is spacious with plenty of booth and table sitting. I always go with the Be Well salad which was discontinued at the Sansome and Clay Mixt location(rude) They have a market place hot food area that usually has cauliflower mash, some sort of fish, and steak. I had never tried mixt before, and was wowed by the customer service that Juan provided. I came in around 5pm and had a few people in front of me. When it was my turn to order Juan helped me out as I made my own salad. I put red pickled onions,olives,cucumbers,feta,falafel crumbs,mushrooms and bacon. I'm not really a salad person but I came here with my friend because she is, and i've got to say, i have no regrets. i honestly never thought that'd i'd ever pay 15$ for a salad (including my choice of protein) but the portions were ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE so needless to say I'll be eating salad for the next two nights. In a kind of do-it-yourself kind of way, MIXT is like vegetarian Chipotle because you can choose the toppings and type of greens. Amazing salads! The Golden Warrior is my favorite along with the traditional ceasar salad. Really good flavor, portions and they don't skimp on the avocado. My only issue is you can't tip. Iyla the manager said that this is because they give free health insurance after 90 days. Cool, but employees in the food industry should also get tips. Shout out to SOFIE for being awesome. Got the Mandarin salad. Highlights were the jicama, cashews, mandarins, and fried chicken. It was very substantial. You can get it with ahi tuna, which would of course make it healthier. Today I came to Mixt for the first time. My first impression was pleasant as I noticed how clean and airy it is inside. Walking up to the counter I couldn't help but notice the fabulous array of lettuces on the back wall behind the counter. Seeing that butter lettuce is one of the choices selections was a nice surprise. The number of ingredient choices can be a little overwhelming. Looking at the menu before looking at the ingredients is likely to be helpful for your selections. That is if you build your own salad like I did. The other option is to choose one of their salads that follow a recipe of selected ingredients. After selecting my salad I was happy to see that they grain bowls and seasonal plates. Not just salads, score! I'm looking forward to coming back to try then as well. Next time I'll eat in and have one of the following beverages wine, beer, michelada or mimosa! I have been ordering from this location for a while now, for some reason lately the portions have become very inconsistent. The last time 2 times I ordered my grain bowls (I often order 2 bowls)...one was fine, the second one however, the container was half empty . It's disappointing because I love the food. So, this place is gorgeous when you walk in. Bright, cheery, and super clean. It looks like Chipotle for Salads. On the employees recommendation, I got, "the bachelor," which is a steak salad with roasted potatoes, point Reyes bleu cheese, balsamic vinaigrette and arugula I think. It was $19 and change out the door. My partner got, "the beetnik," and added steak. I have to say, this was not what I expected. The steak was dry, and overcooked. The potatoes were basically mush. The greens were warm-ish and limp. I got, "medium dressing," and it was totally overpowering. I got through about 5 or 6 bites of the salad, and had to stop eating it. I went up to the cashier who didn't know what to do, so she called the manager. The manager only said "sorry" and offered me a cookie. A COOKIE?!!? the sandwiches are ok, nothing great, and very simple. If you're very hungry and the next restaurant is 2 miles then yeah stop by but other than just keep walking. Customer service 1 out of 5 they are more focus on talking to each other than helping and greeting their customers. It was my first time there and no one say "Hello" or told me how it works he just pinged with his finger where I needed to start. I was nervous about the mixt reviews. I have to say the crispy chicken sandwich was amazing and that gives it four stars. I was pleasantly surprised since I didn't expect that from a salad place. The herb spread on the bread almost made it taste like garlic bread. So good. Sadly I was not impressed with the salad at all. The spinach was kind of sandy and seemed not properly washed, which always makes me nervous because I have gotten sick from the same thing before. The steak was ridiculously tough and I'm not that picky. Maybe they need to keep it in some type of broth or something. For the upcharge it is definitely not worth it. Never again. It's cute. It's trendy. It's salad. After a long party weekend my girlfriend and I opted for salad during dinner. This little chain does a great job of having both carnivore and herbivore friendly options on the menu. We went vegan with the: -- Be Well Salad (Medium Dressing) // The avocado added a nice richness to the salad and the vinaigrette was tangy and bright. I wish there had been more of the other ingredients to the salad, since it was largely greens and the dressing was pretty light despite us opting for medium. I would order this again but for so many ingredients (chickpeas, quinoa, lentils, carrots, edamame, cucumbers, scallions) I didn't taste much of them. Plus, the vinaigrette was supposed to have jalapeño, but I didn't taste a kick at all. -- Zucchini + Black Rice Side // Warm, delicious, balanced. Added Sriracha for a kick and would definitely order again. -- Guava Lemonade // Tasty, but didn't have much (read: any) guava flavor and was a bit syrupy. We ended up adding water to it. All in all, this is a cute little place if you're craving a salad that'll satisfy but might hurt your wallet. The portions look great, but the real bulk of the salads advertised seem skimpy.
