Good for a healthyish quick lunch. First time here and the employees were friendly and helpful. I got a hot plate with chicken (and I want to say miso ginger dressing or something) side of sweet potato and mashed cauliflower. The chicken was kind of fatty and the dressing tasted like beer to me. The sweet potato and cauliflower were both fine, not much flavor though, reminded me of baby food. Today my friend and I had a very poor discrimination experience in this store around 12:30pm. We were in line waiting to be called and two of the ladies working there called the person behind us like if we were invisible we have to said heyy it's our turn, so the ladies didn't have another option more than ask for our order. I asked for Orchard with no cheese and egg to replace and a different dressing. She didn't put the cheese neither the eggs. I asked for dressing on the side, she was about to put it on and the one I asked to change. When I told her she gave me that bad look and attitude. Finally I notice that she didn't put the avocado, so I asked and she gave me the bad look again... Like other reviews here I always buy for to go and always tip even if I don't sit there. ten times I had been there only once they gave me the piece of bread that supposed to go with the expensive salad. Every time I asked they never have more bread. I think a white guy there very stressful (not sure if it's the manager) but I think he makes them feel more stressed. Finally they were latinas like my friend and I. Not sure if they think that we are not going to tip. Certainly this time I didn't tip and find out that my friend didn't either because of the clear discrimination we suffered. So sad that at the beginning it was really nice and they changed so much. I'm on the pickier side when it comes to salad, so when my friends brought me here, I was pleasantly surprised. The ingredients were fresh and delicious. I got a Mixt Caesar with Chicken and it was amazing. They give you so much salad too! I proudly ate all of it too. When I walked it, it seemed like a very nice open atmosphere. The woman who helped me didn't seem too thrilled to help me nor smiled at any point, so it kind put me in a meh mood, but the food definitely made up for it. I would say price point wise, it's above average for a salad / make your own salad shop - comparing to Boston Salad places I've been to at least. I used to get excited for Mixt salads but not any longer. They have trended towards smaller sized salads skimping portions and especially on the greens. They used to gladly give extra greens at no additional cost but I was charged extra each of the last two times. So, for a 19+ dollar Bachelor salad is not worth it, especially the effort it takes to find the small portion of beef. Save your money. Super disappointing. read more

I love Mixt and I am so happy that there is now a location in the Mission!!! For a place that gets big rushes, they always handle the lines so well and you get out quickly, not a long wait at all. The food is great but this spot is an operational nightmare. The wait is consistently significant, even if there are only a few people in line. There seem to be folks walking back and forth, in and out of the kitchen, to and from the registers. I am writing only about the MIXT location on Valenica. I do go to others but this is the one that is exceptional. Brian, the manager, welcomes you as if you are a neighborhood friend or family. It starts the experience with such a positive and warm feeling. Abdaly is one employee that is fabulous. He is polite and listens for your your requests so that you receive precisely what and how you want your salad. I know everything is going to be the best MIXT offers when both of these people are present. The food is excellent- fresh! The options are colorful and vary enough to please any appetite. I have been going to various MIXT locations for almost 5 years. The feeling is now different in every positive way on Valencia. read more

So glad to see another lunch option on Valencia Street. Loved the ease of ordering. I got the make-your-own salad with arugula, steak and balsamic vinaigrette for about $11. There were various lettuce options and lots of toppings. If you don't enjoy salad, there were bowl options too with quinoa etc. I also saw some warm food choices towards the cashier but was confused about it.
