Needed to update my review because mixed has surpassed sweet green in my book. The peachy and the bacchans bowl are to die for. The sauces are unique and delicious and they go "heavy" with no extra charge. I prefer dining there. The plates are nice, but the vibes are chill.

    PUEBLA SALAD
    Kevin Y.

This is my go to spot for a quick weekday lunch when working from home. They have so many salad options with tons of customizable options so you can get it exactly how you want it. Much more flexibility than going to a restaurant and choosing from 4 salads on the menu. My favorite is the Puebla salad. If you're a valkyries fan they have a salad named after them too! Prices could be a little cheaper, but that's what you get in this neighborhood, so what can you do.

I got a make my own salad. Here's how to went: Quality: it's good it's fresh, nothing super out of this world but the quality of the veggies are good Options: plenty plenty plenty Cleanliness: the bathrooms were clean, the ground, the tables, and utensils were clean as well, the prep station was a little messy and there's definitely cross contamination but I guess it wasn't the word but definitely not the best Customer service: not good. I wanted a build my own and I thought there was unlimited toppings, I wasn't told there was a limit and I asked for more toppings and was told no he just started mixing the salad. He said it would be extra and that's fine he shouldn't have assumed. I went to pay and I wanted and they said "you paid already, went through" and kept chit chatting no you need utensils or napkins or a bag. I sat down and did some work and had to ask for a bag and they just stared at me. Idk they weren't customer oriented, not the worst but definitely not welcoming.

Mandarin Salad at home sub tofu
    Matt J.

Eating the Mandarin Salad, you'd forget you got it from a fast casual salad bowl chain (not that there's anything wrong with that kind of establishment). The ingredients are complementary but also stand out on their own, both in terms of flavor and texture. And while the pre-composed salad is excellent, the customization option is appreciated--especially being able to sub tofu for chicken. Plus, the tofu is well-seasoned and delicious, not a raw afterthought like so many tofu substitutes. While the service is friendly and efficient, I wouldn't strongly recommend the restaurant for dining in, as it's not a super warm space. That said, Mixt doesn't seem architected with dine-in in mind, so I don't consider that a demerit.

    BUTTERMILK WAFFLE

From Saturday, 1/20/2024: Some of the items I ordered were: - Sweet & Savory- Buttermilk Waffle - Sides- Crispy Butterball Potatoes - Coffee & Tea- Iced Latte I have always said there is something else from the menu I wanted to try. The items from my recent order were it. I like the idea of serving breakfast until 2 pm Saturday and Sunday. On a Saturday (or Sunday), breakfast after 10:30 AM or 11:00 AM? This is the spot! Service is good, staff members are friendly. Tables and chairs are available if you dine in. You can also order in person or via DoorDash for takeout.

    JING'S CHILI CRISP SALAD

Ordered the chili crunch salad 1 oz of chicken, if I'm being generous Dry, not flavorful (I ordered heavy dressing - mixed in) Crispy cauliflower very good So obviously a sweetgreen copy cat, down to how they stack the salad cartons.

    Barbecue Bowl
    Weijie W.

We were close by and decided to come here for dinner. We ordered the barbecue bowl and the Dave's taco bowl with kale. I asked to substitute the cilantro lime rice in the taco bowl for quinoa and staff were happy to help me. They also asked me how much dressing I would like- heavy, medium, or light. The inside was minimalistic and modern, and there were plenty of open tables and booths to sit at. I would definitely come again when I'm too tired or don't have time to make dinner.

    Roach in rice bowl

Roach in the rice bowl, which also was room temperature rice and chicken. I have liked other locations of this store but this one has seemed dirty before to me and now this.

Super fast and good size salad Don't come here for the service, This is a quick lunch CB spot with fresh greens

Shroom scramble was not great. No seasoning at all. Bacon was 6.50 each for 2 pieces. Not my first choice of spot for breakfast.

    SONOMA sandwich with SPLIT FRIES
    Lauren Y.

Split is a super cute restaurant located on Polk street. The interior is modern and spacious- a great place to catch up with friends. You order at the counter and pick your seat. Sonoma Sandwich: chicken breast, sliced apple, goat cheese, pickled fennel, arugula, and walnut currant spread. I absolutely loved this flavor combination. The sandwich tasted heavenly and light. My only gripe is that I felt like the sandwich at times was dry. Maybe the chicken could've been juicer or they could add more spread or an aioli to the buns. Split fries: this was made to perfection, I love the freshly grated Parmesan that was added on top! Overall I'd definitely come back! Wish their to-go boxes were a little bigger or had a fastening feature on it because the lid wouldn't close on my other half of my sandwich. :)

    Paul R.

I come here for caffeine and French fries. my phone service doesn't work well in the space, but hey it's T-Mobile. Is 3 stars a bad review? I like most service, the French fries are good and sweet potato fries. The eggs weren't very good when I had them as a scramble, and the chicken tenders were small with a lot of breading. But the burger was great. I should give them a 4, but can't because of the eggs. I'll be back, just not for the scramble or chicken tenders

BEETBOX, SPLIT FRIES, BUFFALO Chicken sandwich
    Tracy B.

My husband and I were looking for something new. So we found this place. After what happened I wish I went somewhere else. I got really bad food poisoning after I ate the Buffalo chicken sandwich. I am miserable. I had stuff coming out both ends of my body.(sorry for being detailed) I'm still sick. I'm thinking the chicken wasn't very fresh when they cooked it. My husband got the beet salad. He he enjoyed it. I definitely won't be coming back here again, not going to recommend this place either. I hope this food poisoning will be gone by tomorrow so I can enjoy my Thanksgiving vacation.

We were the first table in when they opened, but unfortunately the service felt a bit cold from the start. Our server seemed disengaged, which set a less welcoming tone for the meal. The food was just okay for us. Our kids enjoyed their spring rolls and "chicken" nuggets, which were an easy win. However, the entrees we ordered were quite salty and didn't have much depth of flavor. Afterwards, we realized they don't use garlic or onion, which would have been helpful to know ahead of time since it really affects the flavor profile. If we had known that, we likely would have chosen a different spot. Overall, it wasn't quite what we were expecting given the menu and reviews. It wasn't terrible, but it didn't stand out for us in a city with so many great food options.

Lucky Creation hosted in the heart of SF Chinatown is a long time favorite of locals and visitors for their vegetarian and meat alternative dishes. There's not much parking in this part of town so be prepared to try to squeeze into street parking or park further away and walk. Otherwise, public transportation is always an option! For us, we typically just drop one of us off and circle the block while they grab the goodies. Their selection of wheat gluten dishes have flavor and texture profiles reflecting popular meat dishes like sweet and sour, curry, and BBQ pork. Each bite has a chewy and spongy texture which seems to soak up the sauces packing bursts of flavors. Eaten cold is our favorite method but I'd imagine heating it up is also just as good. Every time we come, sweet and sour and the BBQ pork are the flavors we go home with. Most patrons buy takeout but they also have a few small tables for dine in. The place is relatively clean and open, illuminated by the bright fluorescent bulbs in the ceiling and accented by the giant mirror along the wall. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. If it's your first time, consider perusing but also just ask directly. They may have some recommendations for your craving. Overall, Lucky Creation packs classic Chinese flavors into vegetarian dishes for those with dietary restrictions or those looking to minimize meat in their meals. The quality of dishes are just as good as I remember from when I was a kid although the prices like for all things have gone up. If you're lucky enough to have plans to go into the city, consider making your way to Lucky Creation and grab a variety box to open your eyes to a meat-less diet!

A Perfect Celebration at Greens…read more We celebrated Mother's Day and a birthday at Greens Restaurant, and it was nothing short of magical. The Marina weather was flawless, the Fort Mason views were stunning, and--miraculously--parking was plentiful. A perfect start. We arrived early and were warmly welcomed by a gracious front desk who seated us with ease, even gifting us beautiful roses at the table. The service was outstanding--attentive without being intrusive (our water glasses never dipped below two‑thirds full). The food exceeded expectations. Highlights included incredibly fresh spring rolls, a crave‑worthy falafel platter, and the Asparagus Pizza, which was crisp, bright, and refreshingly different with lemon ricotta and herbs. Dessert sealed the experience--the Chocolate Hazelnut Passion Fruit Torte was indulgent, balanced, and unforgettable. Bought my tix online and waited for the day to arrive. I included the offspring and +1 for the event. Got there early and found parking basically in front, a miracle in SF. Doors opened at 5:02 and we were greeted by the chef and staff all dressed in green like the Jolly Giant of commercial fame. The tables were decorated with flowers sprouting from funny shaped radish and turnip "pots". Did I mention that the dinners have been called whimsical......... So it begins. We got two juice pairings and two alcohol pairings and both were really interesting. The local Chardonnay on lees and the martini were winners in the alcohol category whereas celery ginger kombucha and citrus drink were rulers of the nonalcoholic category. Some refills were provided, yeah! First course - Miso celeriac soup with foraged herbs, walnut dill bread with kumquat jelly and chive butter. Rich and tasty soup with great bread though two smaller pieces would have been better than one large to enjoy the spreads. Second course - Lacto-fermented beets, roasted carrot, little jellies with spicy carrot salad and hummus. Everything was unique with interesting flavors and consistencies. Loved the little jellies made with agar and the carrot salad, Wow! Third course - Mushroom and beet pub pie over purple cauliflower béchamel. Amazingly flaky vegan puff pastry, don't know how they did that without butter. Filling was earthy and savory complemented well by the béchamel. Dessert - a selection of citrus based seasonal treats including chocolate, little cake balls, candied kumquats and aquafaba. Not just great for being vegan but actually a triumph. First time trying aquafaba and it really tasted like a light, neutral whipped cream. Big fan of the candied kumquats too. They even stuck a candle in the birthday girl's bowl and led the obligatory serenade. Overall a fun experience that reflects Alex Lauritzen's passion for vegetable based cuisine, taking it fully to the fine dining level but doing it with joy and whimsy. Staff and service were attentive. This was the eighth mushroom with dinners occurring once a month. They may also do pop up a La carte service but I'm not sure. At one point, I asked for an extra napkin, and it was carelessly dropped onto one of our dirty plates. We were also asked to clear the table almost immediately after paying to make room for upcoming parties (as is their right, but they could have easily notified us of this earlier so we could plan accordingly - and the service hadn't felt particularly considerate or attentive up to that point).
