I love getting my salads here. I really like the Cobb salad, and Puebla. I've had almost everything on their menu and have enjoyed it all. Everything is super fresh. I've been obsessed with the Puebla salad. The crispy chicken pairs really nicely with the crunchy veggies. I usually get it without sweet potatoes, add kale and cilantro rice. So yum! They are really accommodating and you can add or take out ingredients depending on your diet or preference. I wanted something healthy as I've been eating out a lot since my fridge broke. And that's when I ran into Mixt. I ended up getting their Jing's Chili Crisp salad. I'm glad I got it with light dressing because it was just right. The dressing had a nice spicy kick that didn't overpower the rest of the ingredients. The salad consisted of romaine lettuce, blackened chicken, roasted sweet potatoes, avocado, edamame, carrots, red bell peppers, scallions, wonton crisps, and a lime wedge. It's a lot but they all worked together, especially when getting a pop of sweetness from the sweet potatoes. They're small but they make their presence known. I especially liked the crunchy textures of the wonton crisps, lettuce, and carrots. It's pretty spacious inside, though it was a bit hot from the high temps earlier that day with no wind. But I sat next to the windows, where there's bar seating, so it was cooler there. And there are some tables outside. Service was fast and friendly. Eating the Mandarin Salad, you'd forget you got it from a fast casual salad bowl chain (not that there's anything wrong with that kind of establishment). The ingredients are complementary but also stand out on their own, both in terms of flavor and texture. And while the pre-composed salad is excellent, the customization option is appreciated--especially being able to sub tofu for chicken. Plus, the tofu is well-seasoned and delicious, not a raw afterthought like so many tofu substitutes. While the service is friendly and efficient, I wouldn't strongly recommend the restaurant for dining in, as it's not a super warm space. My husband and I were looking for something new. So we found this place. After what happened I wish I went somewhere else. I got really bad food poisoning after I ate the Buffalo chicken sandwich. I got a Build Your Own salad from here and it was good!All my additions didnt necessarily have added flavor (like the carrots and radish are both raw and plain; the cauliflower was just plain; the chicken was juicy but had zero flavor). If it wasn't for my dressing, I would've given 2 stars. Not that I expect my spinach to have intense flavor but when salad places just add random raw veggies and don't spice up the protein, it makes it very plain. After doing a couple laps around the block we found parking on this Sunday which happens to be the only day permits aren't needed. Split has an open natural clean decor and layout which sets up perfectly for a lunch spot. You order at the front when you walk in and your eyes my take you to the various taps that offer several Kombuchas and beer. The bar is decorated with champagne bottles which can only mean one thing....mimosas. Something that caught my eye was a jug of organic ice tea and another with housemate lemonade. I tried to order a shandy (beer + lemonade) which you often see in Europe but they were out of Blue Moon and I can't do a shandy with an IPA....Iced tea it is! The menu was full of fun and tasty options so I let my wife order the food and I just it all. Our party sat at a beautiful plank natural wood table that seated 6. There were containers of knifes and forks as well as napkins at the table. We grabbed some sugar for the teas at the front counter along with paper straws (boooooooo). I stirred the tea with a knife in order to maximize the life of that paper straw...why waste paper? Here's our review if the various food we ate: Roasted Cauliflower - 10 - Cauliflower was beautifully roasted and served with a very spicy Sriracha cream dip. Don't let the white color fool you...this should be called White Devil Sauce Split Fries - 8 - Thin cut fries but perfectly seasoned and salted with parsley and Parmesan served with that delicious Sriracha Ranch. Parm Crispy - 10 - That Grandmas Tomato sauce was soooo good It made every bite amazing and when paired with that toasted challah bun, basil, mozzarella and Parmesan cheese killed it. Crispy D'Lux - 9 - Star of the show was the perfectly crispy bacon. The chicken could have been crispier but the bun lettuce avocado and that toasted challah bun were fantastic. Sonoma Sandwich - 6 - Some very nice mind flavors from this sandwich BUT the chicken was incredibly dry. I'm sure this goes to an 8 with properly cooked poultry. In summary, anything you put on this toasted chabbah bun or dip in their amazing Sriracha Ranch sauce is amazing. All joking aside, this is a really tasty place to grab lunch. I got the Original Chicken sandwich with regular fries, my Son just got sweet potato fries, and we both got Arnold Palmers. The Arnold palmers were fantastic, crisp and tart and perfectly sweet. The sweet potato fries were perfectly cooked, so much so my son got a second order to go when we left. My fries were fine, stand shoestring, and nice and hot when they came out. We had The Grove salad, which was a generous chicken salad and Crispy D'lux sandwich. The sandwich was a perfect combination of bacon, avocado, fried chicken and shredded lettuce on a roll. It usually comes on a Brioche roll with siracha ranch dressing. However, I am allergic to eggs so had it on chiabata, with dressing on the side. I was very satisfied and only ate half.
