Would definitely come back. We had an early dinner on Saturday night. Cozy dine-in. Ordered edamame calamari and mushroom appetizers. All good. Dinner salad ok. Very good seafood soup. California roll, blue roll and dynamite (?). Nicely made. I would have liked eel sauce, but good none the less. Finished with banana dessert and fried ice cream. Good sushi! This was for a delivery order. My coworkers and I ordered a very large lunch order for the office. The staff were nice and friendly, and delivered the food in a reasonable time. I ordered the 2 roll sushi lunch special for $8.95. It's a great deal since it comes with soup and salad. Not many places in the city do a lunch deal like that, so it's great that there's one downtown. I had a shrimp tempura roll and spicy tuna roll. The shrimp roll was flavorful and the sushi rice had a good consistency, but the spicy tuna lacked a little in flavor. It had that awesome creamy red color that spicy tuna usually has, but the sriracha didn't seem very prominent. Maybe if there were a tad more sriracha, maybe a little sesame oil or green onion, it would bring that tuna to another level. Other than that, I was satisfied with my meal. There are a ton of other rolls you can choose from in the lunch special [you can also get 3 rolls for $11.95 instead of the 2 roll deal if you'd like!] There were also a variety of bento lunch boxes for $9.95, so I think I'll try something different next time. All in all, good value if you're craving sushi or Japanese food, there aren't many in the area that offer delivery so this is a nice option you should try at least once. read more

I really enjoyed my food here! My favorite was the fried rice and shrimp tempura rolls. The food came out very fast and everything was hot. I would have given five stars, but I was not a fan of the chicken teriyaki and the soup was very salty. The soup was good, but it was way too salty. In my experience I'd put in a delivery to a public address and the driver had called and communicated with me about difficulties getting here and was understanding. I got a dynamite roll that are a nice size and great flavor, along with the sweet potato roll. Typically get hibachi chicken and white rice, my favorite! Gave it 4 stars this time; I decide to try the torikatsu, due to packaging it wasn't as crisp, understandably so. However it didn't have much flavor to it, very underwhelming. I was there last night, trying to make order to go, it was kind late, because they at 10pm on Sunday, but there a postmate delivery driver, terrifying a girl on the front,. She was scared. I can see why she scared, because that dud had very bad attitude, and he even copy the girls accent, that's very rude. I like the restaurant, the food is good.i think the restaurant need to do something with people rude like the guy. And postmate need to be careful what people the hired, i personally never order from postmate, because i have had very bad experience with the delivery driver. So the food was great. They made me sushi rolls without rice! It was wrapped in cucumber and was delicious. The reason for 3 stars was how everything came out to the table. I went with 3 friends on Halloween after the parade. We all ordered at the same time. My one friend got her soup brought out. Then she finished. Then her entree bento box came out. Then my other friend got her soup?? Why not soup at same time? Then her entree came right out. Then they brought sushi for bento box. Stopped by this place during COVID for takeout. My family enjoyed the ramen and hibachi chicken. Sometimes takeout can be supper greasy but the veggies and chicken were fresh and tender. The fried rice was good too. read more

Got the bento box lunch special. Great portions and plentiful. Got the shrimp and vegetable tempura and chicken teriyaki. The chicken teriyaki was my least favorite. It was cold and tasted bland. I believe the chicken cut was not good. The sushi was the best part of the meal. I got a cali roll and dynamite roll. The California roll was regular. The Dynamite roll was great. We had some friends bring us dinner from here this past weekend. It was awesome! Their miso soup is the best I've had. Their ginger dressing for salad 4/5, it was good but I've had better. I tried their spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, snow crab and red dragon roll and all were DELICIOUS!! I also tried their chicken teriyaki, it had a lot of onions and a few pieces of broccoli but I enjoy onions so I'm not complaining. This was my first time trying Miyabi Sushi. I was very excited because the menu looked good and the sushi didn't look too bad when I picked it up. The Goyza I ordered was good but the rainbow roll just did not have that good of a taste to it. I ate my shrimp tempura roll because I was hungry and it was not bad, but not great either. My boyfriend ordered the tuna and spicy salmon roll and couldn't even finish it. Said the Kroger sushi was better than this. We have had a stomach ache eve since eating it. We both expected way better sushi for a total of over $70. Highly disappointed in this place. Wish I could get my money back. Not going back. Update: I just threw it all up. Nope. I popped in just before the Friday night rush after flipping a coin to decide to eat here or try the competition across the street. I was worried about the price point (the best bang for the buck is apparently those lunch bento boxes) but Miyabi was money well spent! Everything I had, though small in expected portion was so well seasoned and flavorful! I saved money by ordering appetizers though I can never pass up yellowtail sashimi or a salmon roll, which were both fresh and plump. The pepper tuna appetizer and miso soup were the standouts in a very good meal mostly because I didn't expect them to be as delicious as they are. That was the best miso I've had in years. And that tuna merits a return visit. I've only been in RVA 3 weeks but Miyabi is now officially a "go to" spot. The lengthy sushi bar was literally covered in takeout bags so maybe I'll try delivery if I'm pressed. I appreciated the servers and the ambiance that I see myself looking forward to eating solo here again. I really liked the fact the server brought her iPad to the table to make sure I knew what my tab was and that the language barrier between us didn't result in any issues with the check. I have ordered the spicy roll combo from here many times, mostly because its close and the delivery is usually fast. There have been a few times in the past where it was kinda bad, but I kept ordering because of the convenience. This time, 2/3 rolls were so bad they are inedible. Rotten fish. Smells bad, tastes disgusting. The 1/3 that I ate was also pretty bad, but since I had waited an hour and didn't have other food to eat, I ate it anyway. Never ordering from there again. I order delivery from this place often and there have only been a couple of times where they have let me down. Today was the most disappointing. I placed an order for a salmon teriyaki lunch and a futo maki roll and called beforehand, making sure that they were open on a holiday. The delivery driver came right before the estimated time and that was fine, except for the fact that my order was wrong. The driver gave me the packaged food and drove off without letting me ask to double check. I called him back to tell him about and he picked up; he just didn't say anything other than "okay" and hung up. I could have understood if it was a different kind of protein with the teriyaki sauce but they had given me pork shogayaki - something completely different than I had ordered. They got the sides in the bento box right but entrees are entrees for a reason. After realizing that he wasn't going to do anything about it, I decided to call the restaurant itself. A woman picked up and I told her about the situation as calmly and collected as I possibly could. In return, she asked why I couldn't have pork instead and if I had any dietary issues that would prevent me from eating it? That is really just irresponsible because this would not have happened in the first place if you had not misread the online order in the first place. You can't just expect someone to bite their tongue and eat your mistakes. If I had wanted to eat pork then I would have ordered pork... It is as simple as that. She gave me two options: 1) wait an HOUR AND A HALF for them to make it and have it delivered to my place or 2) receive the salmon teriyaki for free next time. She seemed like she really didn't want to deal with me so she kept pushing me towards the second option. I received a new bento box (minus the soup and salad) about 45 minutes later, which was half the amount of time promised. Attached is what I should have received and what I did receive (barely any meat and mostly vegetables). I was very excited to see a sushi restaurant with 4 stars that was reasonably priced and delivers! The food was okay but the sushi was great! The spicy tuna roll was fantastic. I also tried the steak hibachi. Definitely not the best hibachi. The steak was very small and kind of resembled dog food. The delivery man was SO rude. He knocked on my door so I came downstairs as soon as I heard. I open the door with a friendly "hello!" And he yelled at me and said "I called you twice. Next time you need to answer your phone!!" And then shoved the food at me and turned around to walk away... I came back upstairs to see what time it was and my phone said 7:15 and I checked when he called and he called twice at 7:14. First visit here and I was impressed... I recently started eating sushi, so I kept it pretty simple with a California Roll and a Boston Roll. As I was sitting at the bar waiting on my meal the sushi chef gave me a piece of something "on the house" it was delicious. All I know is that it was raw salmon, my first time ever eating it raw, but it was actually really really good. The service was quick and the staff was really nice. I can't see anything bad about this place which is a good thing. Parking isn't great, but with the location that not really a valid complaint.
