So very disappointed in this place. We attempted to grab some takeout last night, got there at 8:30pm (closing time is 9pm), and the girl who worked there turned us right away saying they were closed. I pointed out that the sign said they were open until 9 and told her we only wanted to grab some takeout and she just said "sorry". Very rude and quite unprofessional. I can understand if I walked in 5 min before closing time, but a half an hour?!? That's just ridiculous. I will NOT be going back there again. The chicken katsu curry with the curry ramen combo tasted great last Friday night! The chicken katsu was crispy, the rice was soft, and the ramen was firm. The broth wasn't too salty, but packed a lot of flavor alongside the choy sum. Although it was pretty busy during the dinner rush, I still felt like my requests were tended to in a timely manner. The waitress came out with my order with much less time than I anticipated. I ordered what seemed like two entrees, but my order sat in front of me in about 10 minutes! Both the ramen and the chicken katsu curry came out steaming, but didn't burn my mouth. The service was friendly and topped off the already positive food experience. Another great attribute was my water always being refilled. I usually drink my water at a very fast pace, so I was surprised when I realized my glass half full after I was finished with my meal. Almost symbolic, isn't it? Although this might not be the ideal destination in looking into what authentic cuisine Japan could offer, I believe that I got more than my money's worth here. My boyfriend and I came here recently on our vacation to Waikiki. After a long day wandering around the Kailua area to get to the beach and back, we were starving. We noticed the little shop next to the bus stop when we first got there so we decided to go back before our bus arrived to take us back to Waikiki. It is a cozy shop with few tables. It had a very clean feel to it as well. We got there around 1 PM on a weekday so it was not busy at all. We are both huge kimchi ramen fans so of course we ordered that plus an order of gyoza. My boyfriend added a shoyu tamago (egg) on top of his kimchi. We LOVED it. There is no MSG in the ramen (huge plus), but it was still flavorful. I'm not a big fan of super spicy foods, but I loved the hint of spice from the kimchi. I finished the bowl, soup and all. Best part was that the amount of food was JUST right and well-priced ($8.50). After a long hike through the area, we were able to finish our bowls without feeling hungry or disgustingly full. The gyoza (an order came with 6 gyoza) was also superb and just the right finishing touch to this delicious meal. There's a certain time period in the day where each order comes with an order of 3 gyoza for free, but we didn't make it. Still, just by checking into Yelp! we got 10% off our bill. The service was also very commendable. The only waiter working at that time made sure our water glasses were never empty (hard to do with two dehydrated people). He also made very friendly conversation with us and taught my boyfriend how to make that delicious shoyu tamago! It is a tragedy that there are no ramen houses in Houston; my boyfriend had said that this restaurant is a very strong motivator to move permanently to Hawaii - and I'm not sure he's joking! read more

Maybe its because we came to eat here 30 mins before they were about to close. The food was mediocre, almost as if it were just whipped up real quick and they threw some chili powder and hot sauce on it and brought it to our table. Where was the taste? Where was the flavor? Great and quick service; the staff was very pleasant. Small quaint place. We ordered the tan tan, gyoza, and chick katsu. Was disappointed, katsu Was bland and the soup base needs work. The noodles were done perfectly and the char siu was small, but very tender. The gyoza was good, but wish there was vinegar on the table since i like to make my own gyoza sauce. The portion size was perfect and the half egg was delicious; not many places do the egg soft boiled like they do in Japan. I was on the Windward side and decided to check out Miyoshi Ramen. Nice clean restaurant, friendly staff with a good selection of ramen and curry. I tried the tan tan ramen. It was very good, great broth and as good as any in town. You even get free gyoza, can't beat that. If you are in Kailua and want great ramen or curry drop by Miyoshi Ramen on Kailua Road kind of across The Salvation Army. You will not be disappointed. read more

Surprisingly good! It is a small shop so I didn't have high hopes, usually eat at Goma Tei in Ala Moana for Ramen and I actually thought this place was better! The ramen was NOT mushy, I got the curry ramen and the broth and char siu was amazing! My daughter got the katsu ramen and she said it was really good and my other daughter got the katsu. I get home from work at 7:30 and may want to go out for something fast and satisfying. Miyoshi fits the bill for me every time. The chicken fried noodles and gyoza are big favorite. My family and I used to go to another Ramen place located in Kaneohe, unfortunately, that placed closed down. So I had to find another Ramen place that was as satisfying as our last favorite Ramen restaurant. We were fortunate enough to find this Ramen restaurant in Kailua town. Their service was quick and the food was delicious.
