I ordered the Combo Pho - Thin sliced steak (raw), Brisket, Tripe, & beef meatball. Some of my friends tried the Singapore noodles and bun shrimp & pork. Not top tier but a fine go-to spot when you're craving Viet food. Good portion size, mix of dry and tender meat and decent broth. Friends liked their dishes too. I don't recommend getting the extra veggies. It's a bunch of random veggies that don't belong in pho. No issues with service. Good amount of seating for small groups inside. Menu is a mix of Vietnamese, Thai, and Chinese dishes.

FINALLY, a good pho spot on Taylor Street! We ordered their steak and brisket pho with the grilled pork banh minh with fries. The soup was very flavorful, and they give you bean sprouts, lime, chili oil, sriracha, and hoisin on the side to add if you'd like. The steak/brisket was tender, and it didn't have a lot of fat on it. We also got the grilled pork banh minh, and I usually don't expect much from banh minhs in general... however, I loved how packed the sandwich was with pork, the bread was soft and warm, and it was pretty filling! The fries were crispy and had a good crunch to them as well. The service was nice; you order on the kiosk and say if you want to dine-in or order to-go. They brought out our food pretty quick, so I was pleasantly surprised. The ambiance was very simple, but I did notice the hand drawn pho characters on the wall! Overall, I'd highly recommend giving this spot a try!

I love that they have a location much closer to me now. The food is just as good, but I do feel like the portion sizes are smaller or at least the pad thai was. Unfortunately it is a small space though, so it's not a great place to hang out and eat. It's mostly self service here.

I was pleasantly surprised by this Vietnamese pho that had an incredible flavor profile. It has the usual fixings of any Viet pho: Raw meat (cooks with soup), mixed greens, bean sprouts, mint, and lime. It definitely is one of the best broths I ever had. They also have sauces in the side.

Haven't had better pho here so hard to benchmark. Banh mi was fire though and no skimping on meat. Was very full after this meal. Kinda weird that the banh mi came with fries but I won't complain ig. Would come back. Anti loop food wins again

This place is fantastic. Very good quality ingredients and the best Vietnamese food I can find south of Argyle. My family only discovered it a couple of months ago but now we go all the time. The bun here is excellent. Noodles are cooked perfect softness and the grilled lemongrass pork at this restaurant is seriously some of the best I've ever had. They truly sear the meat on the grill before it goes on your vermicelli. I grew up eating Dundas & Spadina Vietnamese since birth and I know my way around a Vietnamese menu. Speaking of which, I should also add that even though this is a Vietnamese restaurant, they do a Pad See Ew that is better than almost every Thai restaurant in Chicagoland. The sauce flavor is perfect. They actually wok-sear the edge of the noodles the way it's supposed to be done like in a night market in Bangkok. The only two things I wish they would do to to this dish to take it to the next level is substitute Chinese broccoli for American broccoli, and also finish it with white pepper on top. Then it would easily be the best pad see ew in town. Please come support this restaurant so that we continue to have good Vietnamese food in this area!

Really enjoyed this pho place! Everything was good and it definitely satisfied my pho craving. Very convenient location in Little Italy. Portion sizes for pho are huge! The bowl is really big!! Service was decently fast as well, even though there were a good number of people. Would recommend this place and will definitely be back!

Absolutely loved the owners hospitality. One of the owners was so friendly and welcoming (She gave me a free ginger ale!) Me and my brother got the pork and vegan Bahn Mi. We also got the vegan Pho, which was so delicious. Loved the ambiance, everything was very clean. Definitely coming back here soon:)

Having lived practically next door to Little Saigon in Westminster, CA for decades I'll be frank- I didn't expect really good Vietnamese food in Chicagoland. But we also ordered Cha Gio (pork fried egg rolls) and man- they hit it! They were busy- with food this good, I get it! It had the typical, slightly grungie vibe of Vietnamese restaurants I remember in California - a bit older, needed a paint job, and the walls had some smudges. But it did NOT detract from the food one iota! Will I come here again? Well, yes - as long as I'm willing to brave the sloth-like traffic speeds from I-90 over here, that is - damn. It takes a LONG time to get anywhere in the City (which is why I live in the suburbs). But I'll be back. And if you try this place? I think you'd agree with me- it's good!

I also love that they offer a wide variety of authentic Vietnamese dishes. The summer rolls are fresh and delicious, and everything we've tried has been excellent. We always end up ordering a huge spread! There's plenty of seating, and we've never had to wait for a table. The service is fast, and the staff is incredibly friendly, they truly make you feel like family. This is easily one of my go-to spots in Chicago, and I 100% recommend it!

Creative Vietnamese Brunch with Standout Wings, Though the Egg Coffee Missed the Mark…read more HaiSous remains an enjoyable spot for a more modern take on Vietnamese cuisine, with quick, efficient, and friendly service in a polished setting. We came for brunch right when the restaurant opened, and it was only about 25% full, which made for an easy and relaxed meal. The crispy chicken wings were excellent -- fried well, nicely seasoned, and easily a go-to order. The bánh xèo was also very good, served hot and fresh with a crisp shell and plenty of filling, though I would have appreciated more leafy greens and herbs for wrapping. The bánh canh cua, or crab noodles, had genuine flavor, a nice spicy balance, and was served piping hot. The crab meat is broken up into the broth, so you do need to drink the spicy broth to get the full benefit of the dish. The beef papaya salad was just alright. Compared with other papaya salads I've had, I wanted more sourness and tartness to give it that sharper, more authentic flavor profile. The biggest disappointment was the cà phê trứng, or egg coffee. After having the real thing in Vietnam, I was excited to try HaiSous' version, but the coffee was not strong or bitter enough to create the right contrast, there was not much beaten egg, and the drink was overwhelmed by a large amount of whipped cream. It came across more like a very sweet dessert coffee than a faithful egg coffee. Overall, we enjoyed the meal and would come back. There are some misses, but the stronger dishes -- especially the wings, bánh xèo, and crab noodles -- make HaiSous worth trying for a creative Vietnamese brunch or dinner.

The interior is quite open and wooden, but still modern and airy. There's an open kitchen which I always enjoy. Service was solid too. I got some sort of pineapple cocktail which tasted very tropical and refreshing! For the food, we split the fried fish (fluke), the eggplant side, crab noodles and crab fried rice. The fish with the lettuce wraps was incredible. Definitely my favorite dish of the night and I would purge anybody to get it if they go there. It fell off the bone, super flavorful and no fishy aftertaste. The sauce with the lettuce wraps was also great! The noodles were forgettable tbh, but the fried rice had nice crab pieces. Overall, a very good spot for a more elevated dinner! It's just a bit expensive, but the portions were nice so I'll give them that.

We ordered delivery from Sunset Pho and were very impressed…read more We ordered a chicken ginger cabbage salad and vegetarian spring rolls. Portions were pretty large, especially the salad. The spring rolls came as a pair, both long. Everything was packaged well. Both dishes were very fresh with great flavor. The chicken cabbage salad was amazingly good, with the cabbage still having some crisp to it despite being mixed with the chicken and dressing. The flavor was a great combination of citrus and a gingery kick, and some fresh herbs on top made it even better. This place is definitely in our short list for delivery, and we look forward to checking it out in person someday.
