I love the sushi here. The location is perfect. The ambience is nice. The staff here are very friendly and attentive. Everything is really fresh! The miso soup has a nice flavor to it. One of my favorite rolls here is the Spicy Crunch roll. It has the perfect amount of spice. Also one of my other favorite rolls is the Yellowtail Roll. The Yellowtail is really fresh here. MK's Sushi has always been my to go sushi place when I lived in Fort Worth. Especially this location. I've have been coming here for the past 5 years. I at one point would come once a week before I moved. I've never had a bad experience. I love the atmosphere and its always clean. The staff is always very attentive and friendly. The sushi rolls are delicious. From the classic rolls to signature rolls. I love rolls that have raw tuna or salmon and they definitely have a variety to chose from. This is truly a PERFECT spot for a lunch or dinner date. It's never super loud and you can carry on a conversation. It's never super busy so they are always able to accommodate my friends and I. I went here previously, and left a bad review because the service was horrible. The manager personally wrote me a message and apologized for the bad service and offered 50% off my next meal, which I deeply appreciated. It also gave me an opportunity to buy and try more food. This experience was far greater than the previous experience. We ordered the Tuna Tower, which was WONDERFUL. Literally the best Tuna Tower I've ever had, and I've had a lot of them. The sushi came with huge pieces of salmon, which totally overwhelmed the rice- and I am TOTALLY ok with that. It was delicious. I can't remember the name of the other roll, but it was also SO SO good. We had fried bananas for dessert, which were tempura fried, which is PERFECT for bananas. I enjoyed my lunch here a lot while studying for an exam a few doors down. The server was friendly and attentive and the food was good. I had the Chicken Katsu bento. I get the same thing to go here every time. The restaurant is always pretty empty when I stop by. The staff is always friendly. My food is pretty much always ready for me when I arrive The samurai roll is the bomb. It's tuna, crab, and cucumber wrapped in soy paper topped with salmon and a sweet/spicy sauce. It's tasted fresh every time I've ordered it, never disappointed. This roll turned me on to soy paper. I actually prefer it over the seaweed. I tried a couple of pieces of tuna sushi and it wasn't the best I've ever had, but it wasn't the worst. I would not order it again though. read more

One of my favorite Japanese restaurants and a favorite place for me to pick up some sushi; but at the risk of overspending if I'm not careful. This was the source of my first ever review on this website, and sophistication or lack-thereof aside, I felt this place deserved a much more appropriate update given that I still frequent them after eight years and have experienced so much more.... Let me first start with the staff, I have never had a time where I felt unwelcome, from the host to the servers and the chefs. They've always been warm, friendly and always come by to check on me if I need anything more. I usually sit at the sushi bar, so I enjoy talking to the chef and watching them prepare the nigiri and the rolls, with eager and hungry anticipation. The chef has from time to time given me something new to try and will even recommend different things to me. Thanks to him, I discovered my all-time favorite roll: The Salmon lover, which is salmon on top and within, and it is so filling! The prices can be a bit steep, unless you come by during happy hour. It is easy to overspend if you want more sushi. Granted, the sushi is not all they have. I love their miso soup, steamed dumplings (Gyoza) and all the noodles. I could go on and on about their menu because, while there are a lot of options, nothing is unworthy of recommendation. Like I stated already, I first came here with a friend way back in 2010/2011 and have been coming back ever since. They are relatively close to my apartment as well, which is a plus. The only rough part isn't so much their fault as it is the layout of the parking lot which I do not like. Applebees has apparently claimed a monopoly on the vast majority of nearby parking spaces and even has a single security guard on weekend nights that will literally go to every single car that parks and start out saying "This is applebees parking" To which once I had to point to the space I parked that read MK's Sushi and said I was going there. He said "You're going to MK's Sushi?" and I answered "Yes". It's a little annoying and hard to park, but again, not the Sushi establishment's fault. I'm not sure even if it's the Applebees management's fault for taking so many parking spaces or if it's the landlord of the lot; but they sure do make it difficult for anyone trying to park near any of the nearby establishments i.e. MK's Sushi, Boomer Jack's and so on....Sometimes I avoid these businesses just because of that. Enough of the parking spot though. On to MK's Sushi again, I cannot say enough good about them and while I may go to other places when I need to eat on a budget, they are definitely not overpriced. Good for families, good for friends, good for just going and having a quick bite to eat by yourself. Also, they have good sake and beer, which is another plus. Depending on how much you eat or are willing to spend, you could find yourself spending at a minimum of 5 or 10 dollars. Before I forget, the atmosphere is pretty decent, I'd like to see a little more décor but it is still very relaxing what they do have is a very nice vibe. read more

I ate here on my way to DFW. It's not bad. The restaurant is located in a strip mall about 15 minutes away from DFW. Some of the sushi was ok and some was good. Overall service the was great. Since this was the only sushi restaurant I ate at in the DFW area, I'm not sure how it compares to others. IMO the quality of the sushi was average but I suspect for the DFW area, it might be considered good. Keep in mind, my expectations were pretty low since I'm comparing this to any of the DFW restaurants I would have been eating at instead. I would stop here again if I have extra time before a flight. read more

Very clean, dim lighting, pretty chill atmosphere. The restroom was pretty clean also. There are booths, small tables of two a four, and several seats at the bar area. We ordered a few rolls from the happy hour menu (3:30-7:00pm) and fried rice. We were served in a timely manner and our waiter was very pleasant and polite. The prices are a little higher than most sushi places I've been to the happy hour prices were great. Overall it was a great dining experience. read more

MK Sushi is the only place I go to in DFW for sushi. I recommend the ahhi tower. It's an excellent tuna fish tower with plenty of pizazz. It comes with caviar, avocado for the millinials, and imitation crab. Don't forget to ask for extra Eel sause! The shopping mall is not that attractive but the interior of the restaurant is fancy.
