Pretty good sushi restaurant. Was a little worried it was completely dead for a lunch time on Saturday. There were 2 tables including ours. It stayed dead our entire Lunch here noon-2pm. We picked here bc they had lunch specials on saturdays. The lunch specials offered a lot of bento boxes. So we enjoyed the many options. The miso soup and salad was good. The dressing was a sweet mayo base, not a ginger dressing like most places. But it was good. My sushi bento was good. They have a cocktail list, everything $9. Not bad. I think their happy hr is suppose to be good though. It was a pretty extensive list. I had the key lime martini. It was sweet and didn't taste too much like key lime. But it was alright. I tried my friends cocktails. They were alright too. I would say not the best. But I think it was lunchtime, and they didn't have a bartender. Maybe their regular bartender works happy hr till late. But our server was doing her best making our drinks. The food came out a little slow and spread out. So I sat there for a while, not touching my food while waiting till my friends got their dishes. I have been here twice now and have been nothing but pleased. My birthday is NYE and decided I wanted sushi. I planned on having a party of six and they surprisingly took a reservation. We ended up with a party of 4 and they ended up accommodating us easily. Visually MK Sushi is stunning. We were seated in a booth, however with 4 people I think next time I will ask for a table for more space. Our waitress was on top of everything. It was happy hour and she was great with suggestions for sake and food as well. I highly suggest going to happy hour for the appetizers and sushi. She was also great at giving us plenty of time to look over the menu while we talked...a lot. And customizing my boyfriends rolls were accommodated. The food itself has always been phenomenal. This time we ordered the spicy crab & pacific rolls, pork dumplings, and the Ahi Tower on the happy hour menu and a round of sake. The first round of food was amazing. The Ahi Tower is always a favorite and I'll definitely be getting the pacific roll again. I have no way of eating the sake as this was my first time tasting...its not my thing. The next round we went for specialty rolls. This place is wonderful! The sushi is as good as I've had in DFW. The tempura is light, crispy, and delicious, and the cocktails are perfectly mixed and ice cold. They got an extensive drink menu with some I'd never seen or heard of before but they'll make any of the traditional standards like a double dirty gin martini (shaken of course). My favorite is the spicy pear martini. It's not sweet (thankfully) but it's delicious. It's got jalepenos in it and I don't know what else but you can feel it in your throat when you drink it like an ice cold coke in the morning but more refreshing and with two kinds of a kick. On other stuff, service is friendly, happy, and sincerely nice. It's as good as it gets. Cleanliness: clean as my own house or better. Atmosphere: the place has a relaxing and cool vibe. Food was so good. Got the reggie and the ebi ebi rolls for sushi for our appetizers. Sushi was good portion size, fresh tasting and so good. We also had the tempura bento box and spicy garlic chicken. Both were also outstanding. We had enough left over for dinner so we took it back to the hotel. It was still delicious 6 hours later. My favs: Yakisoba, Udon, and the Kal-Bi. The business has grown alot since it started and it's gotten a bit crowded in there w/ the sushi bar. The sushi is good, but since the sushi bar was put in, the prices have gone up quite a bit. MKs has been around for a long time and they have very good sushi. However my issue is more about the price point as there are numerous other sushi restaurants close by that charge less for just as good if not better quality sushi. The last couple times we have been the service has been OK. I ordered raw Korean chirashi bowl which was really good as was the spicy tuna, the MK roll and the sashimi. My usual go to in just a regular Chrirashi. I also recommend the spicy yellowtail hand roll. The regular menu with traditional Asian dishes is OK, not great. However most people who are going here aren't coming for anything other than sushi. read more

After reading reviews...some people are incredibly dumb. Maybe a bad-a$$ attitude or just being a D!ck doesn't get you good service ‍. The sushi here is fresh and EXACTLY what you SHOULD pay for the quality. I've eaten sushi all around the world and this place has been the best I have had IN TEXAS which Texas has been the worst place to get sushi. The service was amazing, employees were really friendly. Our rolls were perfect normal size, we got a tower with spicy tuna that was beyond words, and got Hawaiian fried rice (which I had in Hawaii and was just as good.) The sushi chef was funny and nice. Decent Sushi place.... We arrived on a Saturday evening with hardly anyone inside this location. I dont think they get much business anymore, but they have a fabulous looking sushi bar. We were greeting immediately upon entering and sat down with drink orders taken quickly. Our sushi just wasnt as good as places I have been where the price is cheaper. I order at least two shrimp tempura rolls almost everytime I go to a sushi restaurant and at this place it was just "ok." On a good note though the sushi came out very quickly....which was nice!
