This place was so nice on the inside and the service was friendly. I ordered the chicken piccata and my wife ordered lasagna. We were disappointed with the food for the price. The chicken was over cooked and rubbery. Bread was not served with the meal it was an appetizer we had to pay for. The lasagna was ok but not worth the price. I went here with my co-worker for dinner. Although Google and Yelp while having the correct street address, the pin on the map is a few miles from the restaurant and puts you in a field. Not sure what that is about, but Yelp talk to Google so they can get their act together. We called the restaurant and got directions. Glad we did. First of all the motif was clever. Being born in NY and having some of the best Italian food outside of Italy, I was impressed at the murals on the wall that featured the NY subway on one side of the restaurant and Italy on the other. We ordered and I must say we were pleasantly surprised that the food was not only delicious and fresh, but the prices were lower than you would expect for the quality of food. Additionally the service was very good and the owner stopped to chat at every table. He shared some of his history and restaurant details and their plans for the future. Last minute change of dinner plans tonight, allowed us to go to Mo's about 7pm. We were seated immediately and within a minute, Dusty approached us - introduced himself, told us about specials, recommended a mixed drink (which we ordered and enjoyed). Bread arrived while he was bringing us some iced tea. We special ordered the greek salad, the Mac/Cheese, Filet Espresso (Dinner Special) and a "Shrimp Diavola" and on each special order, Dusty and the kitchen got it right! Dusty was one the best servers we have had in ANY restaurant in a long time. Interesting enough, when he stated that the Mac/Cheese was one of his three top favorites and I asked where the other two were served at - he stated Oceanaire is one (we LOVE Oceanaire and the Mac/Cheese - just too far from house on typical evening) and a little known bistro in Columbia, SC. At which he and I both said "Motor Supply Bistro on Gervais". Crazy small world - for a couple of years when I lived in SC, I used to eat at this bistro often. Another great place. Anyway, various folks prebussed our table throughout dinner, refilled our iced tea, and both managers stopped by to ask about our dinner and service. Food was wonderful and fresh - service (Dusty - but really everyone, as it is obvious they work together well as a team) was fantastic, and atmosphere is great. Very nice evening at Mo's ... AGAIN. Updating my review and adding a star. This restaurant is extremely consistent and the food is lovely. Great servers, always super friendly. The amazing server Dusty I mentioned in my first review- is now the general manager. Really love the atmosphere. I still can't believe this place is in Midlothian. I would drive an hour for this food. Original review: It's been a while since we've been here, and honestly- I'm so sad we waited so long to come back. Our waiter Dusty was extremely friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the menu. We came in to try out their happy hour drink specials, but both the food and drinks were great. I had the appetizer sampler with a giant crab cake and 4 large shrimp. Hubby got the Mac, Asparagus, and Creamy Tomato Soup (which may just be the best I've ever tasted). The Margaritas were good- but the German chocolate cake shot I polished off after dinner was amazing! It truly tasted like the classic dessert. So Delish. Mo and Hari's was recommended to us by a local in Waxahachie. Are we glad we came here. This place is fantastic. While it is an Italian bistro, they also serve a wide variety of fish and seafood. My companion had crab cakes, which she said were awesome. I had the filet, cooked well done. It was perfect. Done through and through, but not burnt on the outside. I had it topped with a garlic butter sauce, and it practically melted in my mouth. This was the most tender and juicy filet I have ever eaten. I also had the tomato bistro soup which was out of this world. The server was accommodating and made sure our drinks never were empty and did a great job of serving us. We also met the manager, who came by to check on us. She bragged on her "overqualified" chefs, and she was not exaggerating. They did a great job on the food. From the friendly staff to the ambience of the place we had high hopes for what the menu had to offer. It's always a gamble for a new place but we were highly impressed! From the way that the waitress had excellent knowledge about what to suggest for my husband and I to being friendly and not acting like she was just trying to get a higher tip from us she was absolutely great. After eating the bland food they served and the cold bread, the owner of the restaurant, Moe, stood by the table me and my girlfriend and her kid were eating at and proceeded to put his hand entirely down the back of his pants and scratch his ass directly in front of the table for 30 seconds. The table behind us was actually laughing audibly about it. He then went and filled his Voss water bottle with the bar gun without washing his hands. When I asked him about it he said "Oh, I was just adjusting my belt." When I asked him if it takes 30 seconds of up and down movement to adjust a belt that he clearly was not wearing, he responded by telling me to, and I quote, "Get the fuck out of my restaurant, I'm friends with the health inspector." This was my second first (the first one was at dinner time, this one was lunch) and both times they hit a home run. My son-in-law got the chicken parmigiana and the presentation was superb - he exclaimed, "oh, my gosh, it's the Italian flag!" Last night was our first time dining here and it was an excellent experience all the way around. Our party consisted of seven. We were seated at a cozy round table in the corner, which was perfect for our family. Once seated, we were tended to by Michael, the General Manager. Took my wife and in-laws the other night to celebrate mom's birthday. This was our 3rd visit. We arrived around 5:40 p.m. Christian, our waiter promptly seated us and took our drink and appetizer order. When he returned with those we tried to order the red snapper but were informed they didn't have any so, the sea bass(2) was ordered, a rib eye and a salad. About 1/2 an hour later we got our appetizer and were told the bread was about to be ready. Finally the bread was presented, something out of a package not even warm. Around 7:00 we still hadn't been served dinner and were told our food was next. Out comes a server, not our food. Finally, I go toward the kitchen(7:20) to talk to Christian to see when we might be served. I was told again that we were next. Kitchen door opens, server has 2 plates, neither one is ours. I promptly take a $100 bill out and hand to Christian to cover our wine and appetizer and a tip. We left very dis appointed and hungry. The server was great but the kitchen was horrendous. The bathrooms were also unkempt(not clean and no paper towels). It's a shame that the manager is not on top of this, because this used to be nice. read more
